    I own 2 Camrys right now. 97 with 365K miles and an 07 with 110K. No major problems with either car. Never owned a Honda but I always hear good things about civics and accords. Me being a Toyota fan, I would buy her a Corolla.

    Very nice job, love your videos, always something new. Great plot twist, with you as her mechanic it would be ok, but with that smoke or condensation it may already be to late for the kia. Get a Honda, better in long run. Thanks.😉

    Had a buddy with a ford flex.
    All 4 door locks would always read as open. And he would disconnect his battery everytime he parked his vehicle. He had been doing it for 6 years. He old me he has had replaced the locks before ajd it just keeps happening. I bypassed all his locks with 20 cents in butt connectors lol. It pays off to have car knowledge

    Toyota Camry would be a great choice for a first car. Avoid 2007-2009 for oil consumption issues. I’d also be weary of 2010-2014 unless it’s been documented the torque converter was replaced. I own a 2013 Camry that had the torque converter replaced under a TSB and it’s been a great car. 2015-2017 has crash safety improvements and the updated torque converter. 15-17 is the best choice if you can find one that isn’t overpriced

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  Před 3 měsíci +1

      15-17 is a bit newer than what I'd like to buy. Teens will most likely crash their first car . I'll be looking for one that's a bit older. Thanks for all the info 👍

      @@themechanic6117 I’ve been happy with my 2013 Camry XLE. The transmission had a shudder and I had the torque converter replaced for free under a TSB that has expired unfortunately. I got it with 109k miles and now it has 165k miles and the only big thing I’ve had to replace was the front wheel bearings. Other than that just regular maintenance. I change the oil every 5k miles and it burns nothing between changes. If you plan on getting one just feel for any vibration at 40-55 mph that’s the sign the torque converter is bad. If you can find one without shudder it’ll be a good car

      @@themechanic6117Whether its a new off the line or an old beater, both can break down at Anytime . Personally id find an older honda/toyota 96 and newer, for obd, and go thru it, and put her in that. She can make her mistakes in it, before putting her into a newer vehicle.Shes a teen girl, and you dont want your teenage girl broke down and something happen to her. There's more creepy men then their are good, so she wont know their true intention till its to late. Some advice in lookimg for these good deals is to find the ones that need brakes, tires, timing belt, head gasket. Most of these items your going to do anyways so get the price reduction off the bat. You can turn a 200 to 500 dollar car into a 3 to 5000 dollar car.

      My sister inlaw was put in a f150 as her first car and since then she never wanted a regular car. Always something big. I don't want my daughter to get that mind set or get her comfortable with a big truck that she feels like she needs one. Not to mention as a teen she doesn't have much money for fuel so I don't want to put her in a gas guzzler. I think a civic or corolla is a good starter car, if she wants a bigger car later on that's her choice 😁
