    I've never seen struts with the little mounting arm things. I love that strut compressor. OH! I also agree with the tightening and control arm bushings, I do it the same

      The spring compressor works good enough but it can be picky on which struts are easier to do. Sometimes it's a real pain in the butt to use it but it always gets the job done 👍

    I have to check my front left wheel bearing and hub on my Nissan Note (Versa) E11 from 2010 and I feel ready to do that thanks to your videos. Greetings from France.

      Hello! It's pretty much the same as this car to check the wheel bearing. Glad the videos helped you

    Great work ! Your thoughts on lining up the bearing and knuckle with an old abs sensor before assembly ? Hope the boss is happy with the altima.

      That's a good idea also. I didn't have a old ABS sensor laying around and didn't feel like removing the one off the car. Lol she said she barely notices a difference while driving 🤷‍♂️ .... women lol

      Runs great and is my daily driver. I want something new but can’t justify it so I am going to spend $1K on parts and give it a suspension and brake overhaul. Doesn’t use oil either which is rare at this mileage. But…I am serious about maintenance intervals. New master cylinder and rubber lines and bleeding ABS pump should give me a firm pedal. Pads and rotors are good (about year old). Also going to look at replacing knuckle bushings while they are off.

    Hey! Saw you had an HHR 5 years ago- I bought one just recently for my first car and it runs great- just the tail light turn signals don’t work. Do you have any advice? Also- I seem to have put it into anti-theft mode trying to start it with the spare key a a few times and trying to do the 30 minute reset I saw described online for recognizing a new key or whatever. It’s a 2011 HHR LT and now- it won’t even turn on. I’m wondering if the battery is dead or if just unhooking the battery for 10 minutes or half an hour or something then trying the initial key again to get it out of anti- theft mode will work. I know nothing about cars and I’m thinking about having it looked at so I don’t have to mess with it but if it’s something I can do I’d like to.

    Was the AB’s slot on other side exactly 180 degrees? Did you try rotating the assembly? I’m familiar with wheel hubs, but not Nissan specifically.

    • @joeteich7237
      @joeteich7237 Před 5 měsíci

      Just wondering if slot on other side was offset to compensate for left vs right.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  Před 5 měsíci +1

      The other slot was not 180° out, I tried rotating it and that didn't work either.

    Which strut mount bearing brand did you use?

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  Před 5 měsíci +1

      KYB , not long ago I used beck/ arnley strut bearings on some Hondas, I had to do both of those jobs over again as soon as I installed them because the bearings were binding and making noise . KYB has been good so far 👍

    Hey brother I have a 2016 nissan altima and this code came up p0420 and p015b I went to a shop and they told me that I need a new catalytic converter 2 new oxygen sensors and a full tune up can you help me, do I really need to do all this ??? Thank you

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  Před 5 měsíci +1

      For those codes that's most likely the correct repair that needs to be done

      So it's not worth buying the 2 oxygen sensors and changed them that won't change anything,I need to change the catalytic converter ???

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  Před 5 měsíci +1

      With a p0420 just changing the sensors could potentially be a waste of money . Usually it is a bad cat convertor, but the shop wants to change the sensors anyway which is understandable.
