    Traded in my 2020 F-Type for a 2023 that I picked up in August and absolutely love it, never had an issue with these cars and I like the fact you don't see them everywhere.

      Did you just prefer the new updated look? What were your reasons for trading to the new car? Just curious.

    • @robcioffi7725
      @robcioffi7725 Před 4 měsíci

      @@dlj1285 I really liked the look of the old headlights, other than that I liked all the new changes they made (front grille, back lights, digital dash, updated suspension, better standard equipment, plus getting AWD when my last one was RWD) I figured there were a lot of positives and really just the headlights being the one thing I didn't like.

    • @dlj1285
      @dlj1285 Před 4 měsíci

      @@robcioffi7725 It’s funny how polarizing the new front is for folks. I absolutely love the new look myself. I personally find the old car to look quite dated in comparison, but to each their own. Will be taking delivery of a 24 R coupe myself in a couple months.
      How do you find the sound of the new one compared to the original car? The new one sounds pretty similar to me, minus some of the original car’s burble tune.

    • @robcioffi7725
      @robcioffi7725 Před 4 měsíci

      @@dlj1285 I agree with the front, the new has grown on me after owning it now for a few months. For the sound, the new one isn't as loud but I think it still sounds good. It sounds more "grown up" I would say. The old one had the pops and bangs constantly but with every car having it now and people getting tunes on every car to do it, it feels over done. If you do want that though, you can remove Fuse 15 under the hood and you get all that back so it sounds like the older F-Types (tested it out a few weeks ago)

    • @dlj1285
      @dlj1285 Před 4 měsíci

      @@robcioffi7725 Interesting. I was under the impression that even with the fuse pulled it still was not quite as crazy as the first gen car.
      There is a way to basically put that fuse on a switch so that you can have the best of both worlds without the inconvenience of having to pull/replace the fuse. Some hook it up to the 3rd garage door opener button some how. Read it in the forums. Su-posed to be pretty straight forward. Then when you are in the mood you just hit the button, and when not hit it such that the fuse is back in operation sorta thing.

      This is the reality for many with modern Jags. I have family and friends with this same sort of positive experience. Regardless, there are many on the Internet where it’s like a favourite past time to continue to perpetuate past reliability issues. It doesn’t matter to them that today’s Jags are pretty good.

    Sadly, this model has always been underrated. It looks “good” but given the E-Type heritage, it just never looked nearly as superb. But I still like it. And it’s super rare. I live in Greenwich Connecticut USA where you can’t throw a stick without hitting Ferrari, Aston, Porsche, etc. But I NEVER see an F-Type. RIP. You were one of the greats.

      The only $80K brand-new Porsche sports car you can buy in the US is a Base Cayman, with 1 year shorter warranty and just one free oil change, a far less deal than the Jag V8 F-Type's 5 year warranty and 5 year complimentary maintenance. And no, the Jag V8 does not depreciate more than the "Base" Cayman in absolute dollar terms after 5+ years.
      I suggest getting a 992 911S, and spend at least $150K for it. If you don't have the $$$, don't bother with either cars. Genuine advice.

    Marek, I respectfully disagree with many points in your video. Comparing the F-type to the 911 4S isn't entirely fair-the 911 is pricier with similar performance. Your remark about the F-type's stick shift being absurd doesn't hold; it feels more authentic than the 911's tiny 'beard shaver' stick. While I love the 911, the F-type R outshines in beauty, sound, and affordability. It offers a better overall value.

    **I for one have horror stories with my f type** here is a different story than the other positive comments.... I have a 2021 P380. Oxygen sensor, mass air filter, spark plugs, and a few more things etc ALL had to be replaced 5k km in. the E differential clutches are rubbing all the time now and is a manufacturer issue. Only 24k km in and 3 years since 2021. *I also get about 20liters per 100km. The fuel effciency is terrible in city. I get 12 on highway if i continue highway for say 3-4 hours out of a 4-5 hour drive.
    The door panel is peeling off, the little black plastic frame that acts as the outline of the door window area is peeling off, seems to just be glued.
    I've got plenty panel gaps around there too.
    It's been a nightmare of little things going wrong and the JLR dealership is terrible. Always trying to dodge warranty work, schedules you 3 months out. Don't show up to appointments or come late, and sold me winter tires with rear walls torn and won't refund me because they were used tires but if YOU as a dealership is selling me this, how the hell are you not validating it and you'd just flat out scam your customers like that? I spent $1800 on those "near new" tires and had to spend another half of that to buy another two rear tires because they were improperly taken off of the previous car and torn (so the dealership torn the sidewalls too...not even their prior customer).
    I would never buy jaguar ever again. Going straight back to Porsche if anything for service alone

    2014 F-Type 3.0s 50,000 with full main dealer service history was by far the worst car for reliability we have ever owned and we would never buy another one. In the 14 months we owned it both banks of injectors needed replacing at a cost of over £3000, various electrical glitches with a wire repair for the wipers costing £660, coolant and oil leaks repair cost £600, supercharger belt replacement £1600, front discs and pads £900 to name but a few things. Be warned what is meant to be a pleasurable experience turns into a nightmare. Not only the costs are awful but so are the waiting times for Jaguar main dealers to take your car in and fix it. The dealership had our car for 5-7 weeks at a time. Gone back to Mercedes and am able to breathe a sigh of relief. Beautiful to look at but that is where it stops.

It'll be 10 years old this year and it's never once had a fault, issue, niggle or even hesitated turning on. I did ask around about parts before buying it, and not more expensive than anything else on the market either. I'm not sure how this will bankrupt you, unless you can't pay for gas or insurance (and the annual service fees - which you should be doing on a solid Indie after the warranty expires anyway)....

    Sports cars, let alone 2-seater sports cars, are never "essential" cars, but rather the cars of discretion and desire. In the US, you could custom order a P450 RWD for $80K with reasonable options, and comes with 5 year bumper-to-bumper warranty and 5 year complimentary maintenance. How will this purchase "bankrupt" you, compared to other sports cars with shorter warranty and no free maintenance package built in? Of course, if you don't have even $80K in cash to spare, don't buy a sports car, period. It's not an essential purchase for anyone.

    The last actual Jaguar (as opposed to a rebadged LandRover) - it should be mourned just for that.
    Sad also that the Ford dream (LandRover teach Jaguar how to make money; Jaguar teach LandRover how to build cars properly) got derailed in favour of just trying to make money and quality be damned. Tata knows what makes the world go round.
    Will the next stage in the (J)LR brand evolution be new low-end LR models that are actually rebadged (and smartened-up) Tata cars direct from India, as part of the electric revulsion (I mean revolution)? Just glad that I can't afford any of them, so I expect that makes me jealous of those who can. What was the saying - money can't buy common sense?

      @@janosik150 Oh, ok, I'll do that. But... the point remains the same, these cars are not meant to be utilitarian, I didn't buy mine for the practicality, I knew it had limited space inside. It is a beautiful car with great road presence, very striking in triple black, no chrome. A Porsche would probably suit you better, they are very good cars. But I wanted something different, I might see one or two other F-Types in a year where I live, Porsches are too common to remark on, good as they are. I have a F-Type coupe, it does have practicality in that it has a pretty large trunk. Sounds better than a Porsche too.

      Style is subjective. You don't like it, walk away. But I like it and bought a coupe. It never fails to elicit favorable comments.

    Lexus LC500 is a much better option and will last for years! Jags are simply junk and will fall apart very quickly!

      @@hammylauw9574 Don’t need to convince me of the reliability of Toyota products. I have 2. But nothing will standup to Toyota product for reliability. They are great for that. For the other parts around aspirational “dream car”-type purchases, yeah, not so much. Snore fest. I have family and friends who own F-types. They have reasonable reliability, in large part due to the fact that they have been around a while, they are deep into their development cycle, etc...They are not perfect, but on balance they are fine if they are looked after….They are great cars for what they are.
      The LC500 in some respects should not even be compared to an F-type R. The F-type R is an animal in terms of performance. The LC, beautiful car in it’s own right, but very down on performance. Life is way to short to buy an LC over an F-type R if the F-type rings your bell more. Reasonable reliability can be enough for some if the car has other attributes you are looking for. For me the LC is not doing anything for me beyond reliability.
      Not sure where you get your “facts”. I suspect you are one of these bandwagon sheep-like followers that are uninformed about the F-type.
