  • There are three options to travel to the center of Beijing from the Beijing Capital airport.
    The simplest is the taxi. always have you destination name and address in writing in Chinese as the driver will not understand English. A taxi to the center if the city is about ¥100 plus toll if any. There is no tipping in China.
    A popular alternative is to take the Airport Express to then transfer to the subway. As long as you do not have a ton of luggage and are not traveling during peak hours, this is a good alternative. Cost is ¥25 for the train plus the cost of the subway tickets. Here is a good subway map: explorebj.com/subway/ On the airport website you can find up to date details about operating hours: en.bcia.com.cn/traffic/express...
    The final choice is the shuttle buses. There are many bus lines covering a good part of the city. This is our preferred transportation but you need to know which bus is closest to your destination and where to get off. On this website you can find the list of buses, their stops and operating hours: en.bcia.com.cn/traffic/airbus/...

    I once gave a lady a tip at a small cafe in Guangzhou and walked away, when she noticed the tip she ran frantically after me! She tried a few times to return but I refused to accept it hahaha

    This make life a lot easier... I don't need to panic when I arrived at Beijing air port. However you need to make another video for Beijing new air port.

    I arrive in Beijing at 3pm but need to take the bullet train at 6 in beijing south station. What do you recommend? Would there be too much traffic at that time for taxi?

    • @ChinaDIYTravel
      @ChinaDIYTravel  Před 5 lety

      Should be ok. You should not need more than one hour even with traffic.

    Since we have a few large luggages , so train is not easy, how much would it be for Taxi to Beijing city? Any other recommendation are appreciated.

    • @ChinaDIYTravel
      @ChinaDIYTravel  Před 5 lety +1

      Beijing is huge so it depends where in Beijing. As a rough estimate, let's say 100RMB. You pay whatever the meter says plus toll. No tipping.

      @@ChinaDIYTravel From Los Angeles flight, it is always Terminal 3 which you have to take an airport train to? I am interested in Taxi but I am not sure it can take 4 big luggages plus carry-on and 3 of us.

      @@jamescc2010 The taxis are no large. I doubt that you can fill all these luggage in one taxi. You can ask for a minivan (more expensive). For arrival to at T3, watch our other video: czcams.com/video/NvCNDlhUvZA/video.html

    • @ChinaDIYTravel
      @ChinaDIYTravel  Před 5 lety

      It is better to take a taxi or a pre-arranged driver as it would take too long via public transportation from the airport.

    When traveling with a family (and the luggage that goes with them), it is clear the shuttle buses make the most sense.
