One thing i've come to find out about is that some buildings are VERY VERY important not to miss! Building a landing pad allows you to land your ship or allows other aliens to land their ship. A bazaar will come with a merchant and a galactic trade terminal etc.

Ah cheers. I literally just got the option to build either a small dwelling or bazaar and wondered if the increased pop. size was worth it or the bazaar. Will build the bazaar lol
Bruh I got the landing pad option or a coolant reservoir. The citizens majority voting wanted the reservoir and thier happiness was at 5% when I found them so I didn't want to make them angry so I built the reservoir and now knowing it would make a bizarre makes me wish I could go back.

Donât team up with people, tested it a few times now, you either get nothing for hours or your current settlement mission resets.
@@kingmasterlord They do seem to be stretching out content to make it longer. If they fleshed it out it would be an amazing feature.
@@dylanthesea2976 on Saturday allow people to drink and spitball ideas then put all those ideas on a randomly rolled table
My settlement has like 67 npcs but they are a super rough planet and I felt bad for them. They are all depressed so Iâm trying to make life better for them before I move on. Something I found interesting is you can have a pretty high population but they are still unhappy if certain conditions arenât there.

If you move to another settlement and leave the overseer position will the settlement stay the Same as you left it or does it all dismantle ?

If you are just starting, then it may be more important, but I prefer to just base decisions on the 'vibe' I want my settlement to have...right now I am B rank, and one of my traits is "Blessed by the moon." Love it. đ
My settlement is on an extreme sub zero planet and its very hard for me to maintain as people keep leaving but I want to keep my settlement and I'm determined to uograde it thanks to this vid đ

turn the game off. I had decisions every hour or every building, but not if i afk.
He mentioned it in the beginning, but basically they fixed it in patch 3.63 which is only out for the experimental branch on steam. Once it goes live for all platforms, you should be getting new events at your settlement every 30 min - 2 hours (aprox every hour or so usually)

Are you referring to the bug that makes it impossible to claim settlements?

Itâs all random haha. New building projects pop wherever they want. I only connected them with roads from the base I built nearby

@@Khrazegaming i see you placed flooring as sidewalks. Looks nice, but does the vegetation underneath ever poke through? I've always avoided putting flooring directly on terrain for that reason.
Go for population desitions, +3 habitants or 4 or even 5. Eventually you will get all the buildings... But getting population is rare. Dont ignore sentinels or you'll loose habitants.

Hope that patch fixes some of the other bugs. I was attacking a depot and somehow got flung right up in the air almost off the planet.
With the settlement update I hope they make biodomes to store animals so you can have an increased amount

I got a Kovax C class settlement. It's not ideal but the view is quite beautiful. Too lazy to get a perfect settlement so I'm going with whatever comes first on hand.
I was working on my settlement, trying to get it from B to S class. Currently at 55 citizens, and yesterday I just noticed that it became S class all of a sudden. It skipped A class somehow. Now I'm just trying to get it to the largest size possible.
How do we grow population? mine has been sitting at 66 since I started mine and I've built tons of buildings... happiness is really high now and still no new settlers? maybe its still being patched?
@@austinjohnson4890 sometimes you get the request for a thing that says +4 population.
So far the settlements seem pretty underwhelming. I was expecting some research/passive tree to go through and more possibilities like mining different resources or refining (through employing NPCs), maybe trading for rare materials. But this is really simple and it seems like you'll just get a meager amount of credits (1M per day max) which already are kinda useless if you've built any kind of credit farm in your base. And the building system of having to go back every 2 hours and give a stack of materials is annoying. This has a lot of potential tho, imagine it evolving into a large city, though that would probably be demanding on your hardware.
100% agree. When I jumped into the update I was just expecting things such as disputes to resolve to pop up around the settlement, not to be accessible via console :/. Also, all the buildings are purely visual, and serve no function to player, which is a bummer as well for me
Lets hope this was just foundation update on settlements. I agree mate. Very underwhelming update. Hope they can focus more on bugfixin intead of timed pointless content that only breaks the game.
They're pretty pathetic but seem to pull through in the end.
Yeah, I expected a lot more. You jump in to make a decision, which are ultimately all the same, and that's it. There's literally nothing else to do and they're not cities, they can't even get that large, there's not that many different buildings... none of the buildings are useful...
@@ChasenWolf I really hope that they'll overhaul the current system. Hello Games was always listening to community in past, so maybe the current feedback will finally make them realise how we feel about the way settlements function atm

What buildings would you recommend building for sure? E. g. my latest decision was deciding between Bazaar and Starship Dock (i went with the dock).
I've had this issue where i head to undiscovered systems, use the maps to find a settlement, and then find one aleady claimed. ON AN UNDISCOVERED SYSTEM! i've sent a zendesk, so i hope it comes to the next patch.

I've had this aswell. In my homeworld system. In single player. I went a few thousand light years away and it's the same. Ive been to several dozen undiscovered systems and I haven't found 1 yet. I've been trying since it landed on steam.

Glad Iâm not the only one experiencing the same. Iâve spent like 30 maps trying to a settlement. Iâve warped away then back. Ever time I get to my coordinate thereâs already another players settlement there. When I go to adopt it it just say â report inappropriate name â
Going back to playing Destiny2 until they fix this.

My settlement seems to have hit a wall⊠itâs S-rank but all my decisions only affect happiness and productivity now. No more population or construction projects. I hope they add more capabilities in the future. I think some kind of pvp mode would be awesome, or even NPC battles amongst different settlements.

I hear people say that we can chose where to locate our settlement when we get it, but on my first playthrough I never got the choice where I could accept/deny a location...
maybe I'll have to start a second game save?
The patch on the experimental branch is definitely not ready for prime time; I experienced many freezes on load (when loading at the settlement), and a construction opportunity bug where instead of choices, there's placeholder text and it immediately boots me out of the menu, making it impossible to progress further. Other than that, my reward for getting out of debt is a daily allotment of Geknip and Ion Capacitors. Ultimately, it is a fairly simplistic city management game within NMS that provides a modest passive income. Still, it's a free update and another thing to do, so perhaps still worth a few minutes a day of my time.
i have a B class settlement with 75% happiness and 32 settlers and its still at B; is there any way to directly influence the spawning of instances that improve population?

It sometimes takes ages. I once waited till the next day and then only after another 3 hrs of playing they finally put out a choice.. not really a fix for it for now đ
I had to just wait i got one building a day pretty much, in less than an hour i will be out of debt i cant wait to see what happens

I just found a B-Class settlement on a paradise planet. So this helped make sure that I was making the right decisions.
How do you find paradise planets?
@@DariusA25 it's just by luck you'll find them. If you don't see one on one system, just go to the next ones until you find one
Iâve finally found âaâ settlement on my most desirable type of system, a paradise planet in a 3 star, 1 conflict. I donât know if there can be more than one settlements on a single planet but Iâm sure to fire that settlement chart to find more. The location this particular settlement is at on the planet is decent but itâs nothing fancy, therefore the hunt for that perfectly located settlement is still on.
I picked up NMS a few days ago and I am addicted. I almost don't want to start a settlement as I have so much other stuff to learn and do lol.
Been waiting for my settlement to give me something to progress with Iâve had it for more than 12 hours and and havenât had any things to approve or build just getting more and more debt
I would change it to 10 to 15 mins since sitting to wait is very boring to me between projects to complete. The drone attacks could scaled back to 30 mins to an hour since no one else fights back except you which sad. If I could build some turrets or hire a few patrols to help out at least.

I don't know if this still works, go to the Quicksilver guy and buy as many things as you can with QS. Reload your last autosave and buy more further down the list. Each time you spend all your QS and reload. It resets your QS amount and you keep the items you have bought. All the items you have bought are also avail to use in any other game save
I took over a B class base on Saturday and it was S class by Sunday evening even though it's still making a slight loss. I left the game running in the background most of the time even if I wasn't actively playing. I just joined the game every now and again to check progress and start any new tasks that had arisen.
One of the expeditions ended with 2 of my citizens leaving :(

My settlement was a b class and now it turned into a s class I dont know why xD, and it says a i have a debt of 10 million .-.
Mine did that ....then went back to b and my debt counter started again
I found a settlement but it won't let me progress. I found that the sentinels will spawn inside the building you can interact with in the center of town. After killing them I am asked to travel to another settlement outside the system, I will go to the other settlement, and then it asks me to go back to the original settlement. During all of this, I am completely unable to become an overseer at any settlement I go to. My game seems stuck in this cycle.

I just started playing and got my first settlement from the story line. But here is my problem when i was inspecting my settlement, i noticed about 25% of it was swallowed up by hills and i cant flatten the area. All the npc that live there just gather outside and fight over who can sit on the 1 chair that is not swallowed up xd.
Ive had a settlement for some time now, but whilst ive built around 12-15 buildings, and have local disputes to judge, ive never had an option to make policy decisions - my settlement features are the same as when I took the settlement over, 2 x plus, 4 x neg - am I just unlucky or is there a bug?
ive come to a paradise settlement with 69 population with a huge building and a trade post like 300u and i get 250 activated indium from the minerals
the first settlement I ever got had 69 residents, so I think yours isn't so maxed out anymore

On the settlement features I noticed that all of the negatives are now positives, do you get to do that by progressing through your settlements cause my settlement is a B with negatives on each overview and I would love to change them to a positives
You get to replace negative traits with positive ones with your decisions.
As in taking the right visitors in can bring positive traits that remove negative ones, or some times policy decisions can also do that.
Is it possible to fully build up a settlement? Like the max ammount of settlement buildings or isn't that possible?
So I just got to my first settlement on a rotting planet out of RNG and as soon as i became over seer i realize my settlements in a giant crater with giant fing dirt worms circuling in and out of the ground of the crater walls. Whats a beautiful planet
My settlement features are bugged and it sucks, it tells me that is going to replace a debuff with a buff but instead one debuff change to another, three decisions so far and keeps the same.
I disabled the sentinels at their tower. Sentinels keep spawning in my settlements so I have to fight em every single time. Any help or tip? Greatly appreciate any feedback.
Citizens and happiness donât upgrade class, I have 67 people and 100 happiness and full productivity and no maintenance cost and I still have an A class settlement

Question. How did you get a teleport in your city and what about the walkways and lamps. How did you place all that down. I try to place a base computer but says itâs too close. Any help on that would be great!

I built the overseers office, and haven't had anything to Build / Decision to make / or visitors arrive 3 days !!!! I even tried to move settlement and it just does the same, its stuck ! How is yours working khraze ? Or is it just PS4 that doesn't work ?
My settlement is on a toxic hellscape yet somehow I've gotten rid of my debt even at the cost of a little happiness so it's nice.
Next upgrade gets rid of the undrinkable water, so theres another bonus

So I have a stupid question when you're in the settlement and it says the settlements debt you know a certain amount does that debt take from your credits?? Cuz I have 200 million and I'm not trying to have that taken by my settlement
i have a settlement on a paradise moon for about a month now and it seems to cap out at A Class with 66 inhabitants and a million units a day, happyness is at 100%
my question now is will it be S Class eventually if i have more inhabitants?
Turns out I accidentally min maxed my settlement by mostly focusing on population and happiness.

Did anybody's terrain in their settlement get screwed up with the last update? I logged in and the terrain was higher and all my settlement buildings were sunk in the ground. I pray this gets fixed with this update coming out.

Even if you get to S class, it can disappear rather quickly. If setinels get to your base and attack it you go back to B class. Thats what happened to me. I rushed back asafp and didnt make it in time.

One of the complaints for mine is the decorations. How do I get that higher? It doesnât let me build in the settlement
except for the easy overseer building my times have been 20 mins up to 4 hours for build times

Does talking to the settlers ever do anything? the game suggests that you do that while waiting on the timers as if it would help in some way.
They should probably let us do the dialect/language stuff with settlers while building. Also the occasional quest which can boost productivity/happiness

My settlement was an S class then a steam cloud error cost me about four months of progress, maybe more. My settlement became a B class. All of my expeditions were gone except the last one.
Currently, my settlement is back to an A class with a pop of 69, 100 Ă·% happi8 and 1 mil per day in production. When will it flip to S class again?
Ive reached Maxed Out productivity (1 million a day (Not sure if this adds up for what they actually giving me as daily reward)) and i think i builded all constructions since i am not getting any construction requests anymore but my population rate is a at 24 and happiness at 40% and my settlement rank is B. Im kinda sad not having streets thats something i was really looking foward to...

Can you change the style of the houses to look like yours? I have like stone houses and stuff but the wood houses look so amazing. I want it as well... or is it random in every settlement?
I think itâs tied to the race of the settlement you find but Iâm not totally sure on that

I have all maxed out ( citizens are at 55 % happiness , all traits are + and making profit ) and my settlements doesn't even level at all . I have build a LOT of buildings as well .Either settlements are bugged or there is no longer any way to level it up
it's been 4 days & they gave me a total of 3 choices to make, including the "build the settlement computer choice." :(

Iâd say a significant one. I got projects every hour while on the live version barely 4 in 2 days.
