There are a ton of videos of american cops doing this on youtube.
joe bro Come to wentzville MO! Their police pull over bikes that go over 20 mph, don't have lights, or if you do a trick (wheelie). Trust me from experience.
20 mph is a pretty big fucking deal. If your MPH zone is 35 and you're doing 55. That crash is going to be a HELLUVA lot more violent. That's like 40 vs 60.
That's it! 150 pound fine and points on his license for driving without insurance, without a license, and impersonating an ambulance emergency vehicle???! In the US, he would have been locked up for more than a year.
not to mention losing at the min a $500 light bar as well as possibly the vehicle itself due to all the decals on the back and sides that state its a ambulance.
Are all cops in Britain this polite? Watches a few videos of British cops, and jeez how calm and nice are they, do those guys offer felons a cup of tea after they arrest them?
That's how real police work is, build trust in the community, if you become personable with people they are more likely to confess and or come to police when there are issues. Some of those crazy U.S cops should not be cops.
LSRPShawn That's not fair. British cops don't have to put up with the human filth that american cops have to deal with. Spend a day or two in inner city Chicago or Detroit. You will know what I mean. Also, I don't think guns are legal in the UK, so they don't have to worry as much about getting killed every time they stop a car or question somebody. These cops don't even seem to be wearing bulletproof vests. Just equipment vests.
HDaviator The vests they were in the U.K are pretty much modern day chain-mill, there are a lot of knife attacks in the U.K. As for the inner city U.S stuff, social and political issues create that, best defense against gangs are police community outreach programs, get the kids into after school programs. Here in the netherlands, the police are soft, and just, but they are too soft sometimes. They get afraid of groups of people sometimes lol and stuff becomes a no-go area for them.
Well that and in the States people are real quick to try and run and they're rude to police. As you can see in this video this guy was never violent or showed any type of aggression.
Other than fire departments or similar in larger cities, ambulance and paramedic services (in the USA) are usually provided by privately-owned companies. In most states, there’s no license or similar required to be a paramedic (providing actual ambulance service requires only a business license). Since anyone can be a paramedic, there’s really no such thing as impersonating a paramedic.
***** Maybe not in your state (wherever that is), but in most states you must complete accredited training courses and receive certification as a Paramedic. There are similar regulations for the different levels of EMT's which can and do vary from state-to-state, but in all cases you must have certification of some sort to be an EMT or Paramedic. You can provide an "ambulance service" with only a business license? Possibly, but you won't even be able to do a non-emergency patient transfer if you don't have at least one EMT in your rigs to monitor the vital signs of the patient. It doesn't matter if an ambulance/paramedic service is a private or public agency, all EMT/Paramedics must be certified in the state they reside in.
CarlM1997 Oh, get real. Exactly how many times have your been shot and killed during a police stop? If what you describe were even close to the norm, with twenty million or so police stops every year, everybody in this country would have already been dead long ago. In reality, what you describe is extremely rare and usually very well deserved (murderers, armed robbers, rapists, kidnappers, etc).
yuriilev Okay, so please show me one law anywhere in this country about "impersonating a paramedic." That is what we’re talking about here (what I responded to), you know?

Also in the us they don't seize your car unless you are fought actively impersonating a police officer otherwise they give you a stiff ticket and order you to remove the lights within 30 days and then take the car to the court house to prove you've done so.
Yep. State laws change some of that like red in front. Chiefs here can run red and use a siren.includes all officers on a volunteer fire department. ( quick question as well. Are you lone wolfie on steam that makes some sweet vehicles?)

What is clearly more expensive is presumption of office. It happens again and again that someone pretends to be a doctor or a paramedic who isn't. Every time I'm pulled over in the US, I am treated very nicely as well as majority of Americans... because we respect the officer and do as we are told. 99.99% of the people that have issues with police here in the states have an issue for a reason.
lol he would be in jail if he was in the usa pulling this stuff. and the car would have been stripped of the lights and or taken and turned into something else or sold.
I get the blue lights: he wants to get through traffic, and if I had to guess, also do amazing fast departures from parking lots ("Look at me, I am important and I have blue lights so I am gonna zooooom away from here!), but the bit about hanging around hospital with that car sounds like he is a wannabe paramedic who could not manage to get the real job so now he just pretends to be one. Happens a lot with police impersonators. But the thing is, many of them could get those jobs if they tried. But some have criminal records or something that prevents it. So they pretend. Sad.

These things might seem innocent until he tries to pull someone over, lure kids into his "government" vehicle, try to help a victim that actually needs a real ambulance, Lord only knows what all he could do to endanger lives. I am just stunned they admit he has done this before and just let him go with a small fine... didn't make him remove the "ambulance" from his vehicle or the lights. I guess that explains why it is so unsafe to walk around in Europe... There is no real punishment for crime. I toured Europe for a month and we had numerous attempted muggings smh. I've walked around Chicago with less fear lol.

Because... for some weird reason I don’t know about... British drive on the Lefthand side of the road because it’s their law... AND THAT WAS SAID BY SOMEONE FROM THE BLOODY NETHERLANDS!!! (Me)
in Sweden, you can run with the blue lights on, only you do not have a siren on. a guy in Sweden was arrested because he was driving with blue lights on, but the court released him. his equipment missing alarms and the corrected him from getting the ticket. the law says that an emergency vehicles must have both light and sound. so he did nothing illegal.
Now more than ever I worry about what this guy was up to, pretending to be someone in a position of responsibility that people could trust. I hope the police kept monitoring him.
In the United Kingdom, it's even forbidden to have something on the car that resembles a warning beacon or a special warning lamp (whether it's in working order or not), if the car doesn't belong to some emergency service.
No way defending what this guy did, but when questioned by police I am not sure I would know which is my index finger right off.... one of those elevated stress things.
dang these cops are really chill. in the us they would’ve held you at gunpoint, took you to the ground and handcuffed you, and you would be spending some time in prison
This reminds me of the horror movie Old 37. It's about two guys who drive a fake ambulance and listen to a police scanner for accidents. They show up to the accident scene and torture the crash victims and kidnap them etc.
Wow that guy was super compliant. Most people here in the US would flee from the scene, shoot, or stab the arresting officer. At least some people have a conscious there....
i love how the cops play along knowing the whole time he isnt a paramedic just to watch him stutter and sweat
He got off really light. If you pretend to be a public service officer in the US, you will get in serious trouble.

Ur comming at me from the other way around. So no, its not relevant. It has nothing to do with gun control. There is no gun 'control' in eastern europe.
Lol I'm dead
As a cop in the USA for the past 23 years, I have YET to beat anyone and all my paid vacation (holiday) time has been earned..
He's got those *entirely criminally insane* eyes...awful job cops!
Female police officer is so sweet. She can handcuff me and have her way with me any time she wants.
why are they driving on the wrong side of the road
In the United kingdom
esteban you fucking doughnut
Because... for some weird reason I don’t know about... British drive on the Lefthand side of the road because it’s their law...
AND THAT WAS SAID BY SOMEONE FROM THE BLOODY NETHERLANDS!!! (Me)
because the States drive on the wrong side of the road for over 100 years
Captain Clasher Hahahahahahaha
That's how a police interaction should go
Today I learned england has cop shows and their cops are so damn cordial.
When you want to be an EMS Responder so badly but dropped out of high school.......
Being that nice is how it works
Most peaceful arrest of all time.
Man he’s actually listened why can’t people in America get this concept through their thick heads
he was fined a small amount of money, wasn't jailed.. and got to keep the car..
MIND = BLOWN.
this is definitely not how things are done in America.
wow I wish cops around here were that calm
The United States of America needs some of that
That mobile finger print scanner is legit though.
That's the most polite arrest I think I've ever seen.
"Mr. Whelen" whelen is a well known brand for emergency lights 😂😂😂
in Sweden, you can run with the blue lights on, only you do not have a siren on. a guy in Sweden was arrested because he was driving with blue lights on, but the court released him. his equipment missing alarms and the corrected him from getting the ticket. the law says that an emergency vehicles must have both light and sound. so he did nothing illegal.
As a private citizen who's seen far too much police corruption, I appreciate that.
This is funny as hell to see a estate car dressed up as an fake ambulance.
Officers are so polite!
british cops seem so much friendlier with their soothing mary poppins accents
Aw bless him.... he wants to be an ambulance driver when he grows up.
i can say after watching America's youtube videos of our emerging police state, these guys do it right.
Now more than ever I worry about what this guy was up to, pretending to be someone in a position of responsibility that people could trust. I hope the police kept monitoring him.
As a Firefighter / First Responder I find this truly insulting!
Thats what respect makes out of man.
This guy needs to ride in an ambulance stretcher after getting a free boots award ,complimentary of ambulatory care!!
holy crap, why are they so nice to him
$300?!?! if someone did that in the States that'd be a HEFTY fine and definitely jail time!
this guy was probably a serial killer using the ambulance as a cover.
In the United Kingdom, it's even forbidden to have something on the car that resembles a warning beacon or a special warning lamp (whether it's in working order or not), if the car doesn't belong to some emergency service.
If only every country had the magical fingerprint scanner...
I think this is a LOT more sinister than anyone realises..
Is it just me, or is the female police lady completely stunning?
In other news: The driver at the end of the video on the wrong side of the road wasn't a criminal. He was just American.
nicest arrest in history
That finger printing machine is cool as hell. Why don't we have things like that here in US?
UK Cops are bloody polite! This guy should try this stunt in USA!
If that was here in the U.S.A. dude would have spent some serious time and money.
No way defending what this guy did, but when questioned by police I am not sure I would know which is my index finger right off.... one of those elevated stress things.
dang these cops are really chill. in the us they would’ve held you at gunpoint, took you to the ground and handcuffed you, and you would be spending some time in prison
Undercover paramedic. That's a riot.
This reminds me of the horror movie Old 37. It's about two guys who drive a fake ambulance and listen to a police scanner for accidents. They show up to the accident scene and torture the crash victims and kidnap them etc.
wow i'm amused how polite British police officers are, i wish American cops wore like that
“Unless he’s got someone else’s finger..” lol
In some countries there’s no law against blue or red-blue lights.
Wow that guy was super compliant. Most people here in the US would flee from the scene, shoot, or stab the arresting officer. At least some people have a conscious there....
when u didn't pass school so u just pretended to be a emergency man
he was so calm
Last month two men in a fake Ambulance were arrested in London for smuggling drugs in the trunk.
