I don't always agree with Noel, but he is spot on with Sam Smith.
What is sam smith?
@@spazzymacgee5648 I don't know, don't think the Pro-Noun has been invented yet!
@@spazzymacgee5648 Sam Smith doesn't know what he is either!
@@spazzymacgee5648 ‘What is Sam smith?’ Overweight, balding and speculatively talented at last count.
Still, Sammy clearly has some self-awareness otherwise he wouldn’t endlessly spout attention-seeking nonsense and dress like a knob otherwise. 😉
@@baabaabaa2293yes they do
The Sam Smith write up was spot on. "Look at him." What more needs to be said?
Finally!! Leave it to a Gallagher to call out the fat and bloated just as they are, fat & bloated in every way.
Not wrong is he
@@mattsmith1173 Definitely not.
Haha, exactly.
Don't look at him you'll never recover from it.
his honesty is giving me life, as there’s so little of it around. He’s just great.
What I appreciate about Noel is the sheer, unfiltered honesty. I often find myself disagreeing with him, but he still makes me laugh
Agreed…
Same Mold as John Lydon - speaks from the heart pure and honest, like it or not !
@@johnnyhock Agreed.. People hate on John Lydon but he talks a lot of sense.
Did you disagree with what he said about Sam Smith
@@Sidney3371 yes
The Sam Smith opinion had me rolling. He's so spot on.
His comment about brothers singing together is its own unique instrument that nobody can recreate... kinda makes you tear up a bit
Pure magic when Liam and Noel used to sing the chorus of 'Cast No Shadow' together
baby
Mark my words they are going to reconcile soon
@@thefelrider Oh yes I know, the signs are all there
@@ELDuderino597 He never said he hated them but he finds them overrated
There’s an authenticity to Noel I love. He is always unapologetically himself, so whether I agree with him or not I always know he gives his true opinion mixed with a great sense of humour.
Lol, he basically ripped of the Beatles, come on.
@@gaskellr44 Who didnt lol?
@@leeherring8880 Not to Oasis' level, Noel even admitted it himself.
All musicians are inspired by earlier musicians. New genres of music sit on the shoulders of earlier styles that’s how we progress. So what if some of his music nods to his hero’s?
"when the brothers [bee gees] at singing, it's like an instrument that no one else can buy". So true
This is brilliant and I agree with every word... 👍... Saw them live in South Africa in a field on a wine estate and they were magnificent!
Many people underestimate the BeeGees but they are as utterly groundbreaking as The Beatles... and I'm from Liverpool.
Theyre brilliant
the Bee Gees are under appreciated. Utter geniuses.
i think they're great too. Especially their early stuff but the disco stuff has aged very well too. One of the best three minutes you can spend on CZcams is watching Legs & Co dancing to Night Fever.
I wouldn’t say they are as groundbreaking as The Beatles at all, they were good but they didn’t innovate anything in the same way The Beatles did and their songs pale in comparison to theirs, especially the ones written by John Lennon. They very much stuck within the constraints of pop and disco music, not much different to what anyone else was doing at the time besides singing everything in falsetto.
@smullaney No they didn’t.
That Geri Halliwell comment always makes me laugh

Surprised about Jeff Buckley. He is awesome
I agree with his point about covers, they often arent as good as the original so why bother?
I saw the stone roses at Heaton Park and Liams band was on before them…
The stone roses were dogshit. The lead singer was god damn awful.
You can always guarantee honesty with this guy and so entertaining ☺️
The fact that he likes Gabriel Genesis makes me reassess my lifetime opinion of the man.
Less so now, mind
He's so much more appealing as a human being when he's talking about his passion and being positive.

Love this. Thank you!
Exactly I love Peter Gabriel and I don't like the way everyone loves Phil Collins in America more than Peter Gabriel, Peter Gabriel and his music is the most underrated magical thing
I'm a fan.. thanks for this!
Noel - "Not to sound too big headed, but I could have been in The Beatles." 😂😂😂😂😂
Modelled himself on The Beatles yet slags people off who are into Oasis etc ......
Agree with most of what Noel says apart from Jeff Buckley. He was a complete genius guitarist, singer and songwriter. Noel spunked all his best stuff by 1995. Can count on one hand anything even reasonable in the next 28 years
100% same here….
Agreed with all his opinions except Jeff Buckley ! “Grace” was the album of the decade
I agree too.. But I kinda get that Noel hates all forms of pretentiousness, and the critics thaf loved Jeff has showered him with that kind of highfalutin verbose stuff that gave people the wrong impression of Jeff.. I feel that Noel diamissed him based on that and did not give him a chance or a better listen (beyond the “hits”)
Buckley a genius? ok name 2 songs he wrote that are recognised the World over, or maybe just one?
@@stevewelsh8560 How songs are recognised across the world has nothing to do with talent? Both Jeff and Noel are amazing musicians but Jeff was worlds apart from Noel, just didn’t get the recognition like bands like Oasis.
@@stevewelsh8560 drake and Bieber are known worldwide
I had to watch the Harry Styles bit several times, just to make sure it was as funny as the first time.
Nothing surprises me here. Noel has a good insight opinion on certain artists.
I love the bee gees earlier records, i love all the amazing stuff from that era and its very surprising on just
how much there is.
Many great bands from the 1980's as well like the smiths, the style council etc.
the first genesis album Is called from genesis to revelation, not creation.
I wonder what he thinks about mick hucknall of simply red🤔
I saw Oasis on my 18th birthday at a free concert in a park in Preston. I was into them before Definitely Maybe released thanks to being a college student and getting a bootleg of a gig they did. I wish they would just do a final tour.

All along the watchtower by Hendrix is better than the original by Dylan
Everybody's covers of Bob Dylan songs are better than the original 🙂
Agreed
yes, true. also This Mortal Coil 'song to the Siren' better than Tim Buckley's original imo.
Great music, keep on going.
Hell ya totally agree about the strokes…still love the strokes!
Noels totally ridht the 90s was epic ❤
Spot on with the Sam Smith summary he is just plain strange.
Noel loves u2, clever guy, u can't deny u2 from 1980 - 1997 were great
U2 actaully suck live
This man is a national hero❤❤❤
I have always liked Noel, I appreciate his honesty.
Oasis and The Strokes my two fav bands 🙏🔥
Noel is a great guy and very talented
Love Oasis. Love Noel and Liam as individuals. Just hope as brothers with such an amazing connection and understanding which is so precious that they will reconnect. Not to please the world as Oasis but to become whole again as brothers friends and soul mates. It's irreplaceable. I know. I lost my sister my soul mate my best person. We argued and sometimes didnt talk. But guys believe me you'll never get over it. So reach out to each other just for you two
One of the most sensible comments I've read on YT tonight. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. I'm a carer and I care for my mum. She drives me fucking mad almost every day but I still love her every single day.
Good video! Very interesting
That Sam Smith part had me spittin' my drink.....spot on!!! What a wanker!
Prince was a fabulous guitarist.
Prince was something else
Excellent. Agree with everything that Noel's said there. Played "Let it Be" at my Mum funeral.
Died early when I was too young an alcoholic and it still kills me to this day (61) that I could nt accept the road she had taken
♥️♥️♥️
I love his interviews. His hubris is taking over lately.
When the Strokes first came out it was a brilliant music scene.
I was a kid when Reptilia came out. I always caught the music video halfway through and it took my fucking ages to know the name of the song/band
It was 'From Genesis to Revelation', the first album.
I’m pretty sure this was done on purpose because all the Genesis songs he quotes after that aren’t by Genesis 😂
I pretty much agree with every opinion on this. Noel is a fascinating person and he’s done the dance 👌
Noel, not being a Phil Collins fan, but his songwriting on No Jacket Required is great songwriting about his current situation...
I dont care as Phil Collins as his music s absolutely bland and also his Tory mentality is other example and a best he shoud stick to drums !!XXXX
He talks about Phil Collins & Genesis then mentions Sussudio, which was Phil Collins solo.
Always entertaining to hear Noel's opinions, though if he wants a cover that's better than the original, The Beatles' version of Twist and Shout springs to mind.
A lot of Rod Stewart's covers are better than the originals, and any Bob Dylan cover HAS to be better than the original.
isley brothers - summer breeze
hendrix - all along the watchtower
josé gonzález - heartbeats
@@104ist 😄 I'm with you on the Bob Dylan comment! Maggie's Farm covered by RATM is one example.
"When you have brothers singing together it's like an instrument you can't buy!" That is so fn true. I listen to a lot if bluegrass and early country and the harmonies of those family bands are unique and unrepeatable, just like the Bee gees. I've got to admit that Noel is absolutely on the money here and puts it perfectly.
If somehow you could combine the best of Noel, and the best of Liam ..into one person, you would have the coolest human being to walk the earth
I find Noel and Liam's opinions funny, but they are more funny than true. At the end of the day it's just someone else saying what we should listen to or how we should be. This is for people who need to identify with them, I don't give a damn about that.
It's interesting to listen to, but it removes some of the fan illusions that he's a God. He's just a decent bloke who is a great songwriter and great singer. But it doesn't make him great at politics or anything else.
Most bands in the 90s wouldn't of been the same without having watched The Stone Roses prior to forming! 🍋🍋🍋
That picture of Noel at the end killed me off hahaha
He is SPOT ON .... He is the Real Deal ....!
No that’s me
Something he said there reminded me of something Ian Gillan mentioned when Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple for the 2nd Time & was asked if he would invite him back in the the band, & he answered " would you introduce your new wife to your ex missus!?" Brilliant!!
Hendrix 's version All along the watchtower is the best according to Dylan btw and there are a few more examples but not many so Noel is nearly right .
I also think that Placebo's version of Keep Running Up That Hill is incredible and way ahead of the merely okay Kate Bush original.

Luv ya Noel. You tell it well. What's the Story Morning Glory?? Probably the last time a music album was conceived that could be given the status of a "mighty landmark album". There were others before of course sprinkled throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s but personally I think this was the last time it happened.
Noel likes The Cure. Great stuff
Stone Roses FOREVER 🍋
Suprising not to put ocean colour scene considering he says they are one of greatest British bands (which they are)
Noel says everything I'm thinking
Poor you🙄
Genesis' first album was called 'From Genesis to Revelation' actually.
Oasis are and will remain the most important band in my life. I don't feel like all their music has aged quite as well as some of their contemporaries (e.g., Richard Ashcroft and The Verve,) but Noel is still an incredibly interesting person to listen to, probably because of the confidence he has always exuded. I don't know that I've ever disagreed, but he missed it completely on Jeff Buckley. Grace is a stunning album. Also, kind of a self-own to be critical of cover songs. Oasis's Hindu Times doesn't qualify as one, but how could you hear that song without hearing Same Size Feet by Sterophonics? The problem with his comment is that Oasis (and Noel's solo act) for that matter have an entire discography of recycled ideas.
They only did two good albums
Go listen to Cream live at the Albert Hall 2005 👍
@@Exnavyjaythat’s not true
@@ExnavyjayDon’t agree with that. I’d say three, maybe four. Their first three albums are their greatest works and easily stand along side any other bands’ best!
Good to know he loves The Cure.
That really surprised me. I'd like to hear the remix. I went and listened to The Forest to compare, there is a similarity.
I was hoping to hear Noels opinion on my favourite band Super Furry Animals because they have supported him on numerous occasions.
He’s damn right about Sam Smith.

Sam Smith thinks he's David Bowie but he's really Benny Hill.

Cheers Noel, this is cool, sporty spice, YEAH!!!!!?
FYI all along the watchtower by Bob Dylan doesn’t compare to Hendrix version ! Dylan said he’d never play that song again ! 😂
Robert Smith is easy one of the best guitarists the UK have produced. Look up a Siouxsie and Banshees live and watch him bang out some wickedly tight playing.
really? wow.
You spelled John McGeoch wrong!
I didn’t know anything about Smith’s background/rep as a guitarist, but I attended the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame induction and was blown away by Robert’s guitar playing
I'd hardly class him as one of the best guitarists but he's good , there's infinitely more skilled players out there. Smith is however a fantastic songwriter and performer
@@Blonde_Somnambulist It is down to what you think is good. Each to their own with guitarists. Cheers

What he said about Sam Smith, love it
You can beat the original, Jeff proved that.
Right on the spice girls.
The Bee Gees are the Biggest Manchester Band of them all
