Thanks Andrew, I’m in the process of making better thumbnails that look more appealing. Hopefully that will help. I appreciate the support.
Im going to make it my life mission to practice this so next time i go on a blind tinder date to a disc golf course my date won’t totally kick my ass again. Hashtag embarrassing
It’s working
Finally! Someone who will teach a concept and end the video quickly without a bunch of needless BS. SUBSCRIBED✅ thanks I’m learning a lot.
This is really advanced knowledge and a mindblowing addition to the „normal“ videos out there teaching how to throw. Thanks man
Bro...
Was at the park tonight just throwing standstills, working on driving that left hand. I completely forgot about head placement. Im going to get some reps in the morning.
Thank you. You're a creative and motivating presenter.
Dude... just found you today, and I can’t quit watching your videos. So so SO good!!! THIS IS THE STUFF I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!
This video is a lifesaver on the course! I've always had trouble with shifting my body so much on my x step that it looks like I'm facing backwards. I could never figure out why my power seemed excessive physically but it never translated to the output of my shot.
This did the trick. I had some really great drives with my putter this morning by fighting the head wanting to look backwards. It's like a tight corkscrew effect with the rest of the body following.
This whole time I’ve been ‘playing behind me’ to make sure I face away from the target enough and not yank it right. But the head placement you describe instantly feels more athletic.
These videos are so awesome and to the point! More people need to see this channel!
Major Julien from Trailer park boys vibes lol! Awesome vid, earned yourself a sub!
lol
Thank you so much. Clearly you put a great amount of time and effort to figuring this stuff out and I love that you're now sharing it with anyone who cares to watch. I've been doing tons of field work this summer and seem to have plateaued in the 380-400 range. Just found your stuff this week and I'm doing my best to incorporate what you're teaching into my throwing. Hopefully I'll be back here with stories of huge throws :D
I wish I could throw 380-400!!
I've been doing so many things wrong based on bad information, thank you for all your videos
Lmao the bit at the end about the disc getting found 😂
I absolutely love disc golf, it's the only outside activity I'm totally fine being alone and doing. But I hurt my shoulder doing it and have been trying to find better explanations and what I'm supposed to be doing to avoid this type of injury again. Just subbed here
Thank you!
@@slingshotdiscgolf1897 thank you, sir
I'm starting to think about my head position while throwing. I used to ride BMX and one of key components was to point your head where you want your body to go. Your body naturally want to follow your head position so if your eyes are on the target as much as possible, your body will rotate in that direction. Easier said than done but I have noticed an improvement with my follow through and disc control.
Thanks for these they are great!
Great videos! im really learning a lot of key things Ive been thinking about. Keep up the great work!
Makes so much sense man!
This is super helpful. Thank you so much!
About to binge watch your entire channel 😅👌
That intro is fire! And great content.
This channel is about to explode
O Captain, my Captain!
Great Video
Gonna put this to the test tomorrow
I’ve been watching and learning spin and throw. It’s really good. But I also like the way you are teaching this whip.
I’ve looked at some spin and throw and that guy is great at analyzing form! Thanks for tuning into my channel as well.
These are great, well-made videos that are super helpful. Audio is a hair quiet on them but I love the presentation and overall tipset.
Love the part about throwing your turnover into a bush and some kids gonna pick it up part lol
Reminded me of a Julian or Ricky rant from trailer park boys.
Great explanations, glad I found this channel! Can we see forehand videos in the future?
I max out at 300 ft unfortunately. If I could get to 360 it would help me score lower at my home course but I don’t think I’ll be teaching forehand anytime soon. Hurts my elbow a lot because I do it wrong probably. Thanks for the support Kevin!
Awesome!
Be tee dubs, your channel has helped me throw bombs more than just about anything. Gracias.
Nicely stated so far. Somehow you've found some tidbits to talk about which folk shave not beaten to death already :) Well done. Thank you for putting your time into the instruction.
1:47 literally Thomas Gilbert head to the right of your screen looking str8 back haha not saying youre wrong js lol
Ben callaway is a good one to watch this live. FYI y’all
Guilty! I'm always looking back and not keeping head still. I always wonder why my head goes up and my disc is 50ft in the air at 50ft in front of me!
Just curious. What are the biggest weaknesses in your game?
I’m bad at putting, forehand, rollers, my Anny is starting to improve now that I’m finally working on it but I’m not a good disc golfer. I don’t really play much. If I have spare time I’m at the field learning new backhand form techniques. I’m just here to help people who may need backhand advice.
This makes me laugh... (NOT at you). When I was beginning and all I took away from videos was the reach back... so I'd draw a line from the target to something behind me to reach back to... So I had an aiming point directly behind me to reach back for. LOL... It didn't necessarily fail, per se, but it wasn't helping. Like driving a car... always look where you're going... forward!!!! Thanks for your hard work putting this content together.
When you come to the middle, are you trying to look forward or are your eyes looking at the ground? Please advise.
Look at the target and then your body rotates back moving your head to a spot where you should be looking at the ground. You should try to stay looking at the ground until your follow through brings you up. I fail to do this in my own form because I’m excited to see where the disc goes. Definitely copy Gibson’s head placement. It’s perfect. I will say that head placement is different on shorter shots. I may look at the target sooner. It’s all situational.
@@slingshotdiscgolf1897 Thanks for responding quickly. Now I understand how I should do things and will try to look at the ground until my follow through brings me up. Many thanks 😊
Hey. I tried both ways today at the field and saw better results when trying to look towards your target with your eyes and letting your shoulder turn your head 90 degrees instead of looking at the ground. I felt better angle control and better accuracy so I'm not sure what should be done here exactly. I want more distance because currently I'm maxing out at 438 ft. Looking at the ground reduced it a bit down to 398 ft because it didn't feel right. Like I couldn't get more spin (power?) behind my throw.
Please advise and let me know what do you think about this.
@@smileyboy2700 do what works! Sounds like you figured out your head placement. It’s going to be different for everyone. The thing that matters is not looking behind you. That’s when things become problematic. 438 is a long ways. Nice work!
@@slingshotdiscgolf1897 Thank you very much for your advise on this topic. Now that head placement is OK from my side, I'll try to add swim move and see if that will help me go further. I'll check out your video about that 🙂.
🤯
new kid directly throws your disc in the trash lol
Commentary on the made up kid that finds your favorite disc is classic.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but there is a difference between turning the head on axis, vs lifting the head off axis or standing up/early extension.
I appreciate your passion for the backhand throw. I can tell you take it as seriously as me. The important fact here is don’t look behind you whatsoever. At that point you are no longer in a position to time the slingshot correctly.
@@slingshotdiscgolf1897 seabas22 is one of the greatest form legends ever. if you haven't already I would encourage you to deeply trawl the dgcoursereview technique & strategy subforum

@@JoshSmith-sr6ks I’m also very aware of who the legendary trainers are. I’m a respectful person and I’m proceeding with as Much caution as possible, but I have to give my honest opinions based on my throwing style . Much respect to every teacher. Hopefully I have not offended anyone.
@@slingshotdiscgolf1897 yeah man I wasn't taking it that way. i really like your videos and didn't think you were "dissenting" against seabas or anyone or anything like that. I just mainly wanted to bring your attention to the fact that a lot of the great content on that forum is sort of buried
