It's a styling knockout. I love it's proportions and stance. It's small but substantial. It's damn near perfect styling for a small hatchback. Recent small Peugeots were downright ugly and generic.

@@cameron4907 Sounds like the same as Australia. They sell hardly any vehicles here, they are quite a rare sight on the road but a few businesses buy them for their fleet, usually base model 308's. But any modern Peugeot from 2014 onward is pretty rare to see, and it's a damn shame because they are far superior to Japanese cars and really don't cost much more to maintain. All the Peugeot dealerships seem like afterthoughts, run down and small and very few staff have a strong understanding of the brand. They need to be manufacturer backed if they want to get anywhere I think, the distributors here are struggling.

It appears that most of these press demo cars have 17" rims with 45 profile tyres for best appearance but the 16" rims with 55 profile tyres give a softer ride and are more comfortable for imperfect roads. I've ordered an e208 Allure equipped with 16" alloys which I think will be a good compromise. I could always add 17" wheels later if I need that more racy look and more precise handling on smooth roads.

The looks of the 2020 (e)208: It's like falling in love again. Back in the nineties, I was driving a nippy 205 and was happy with it. Then I saw the first images of the upcoming 206 in a newspaper and I was smitten. I vowed to buy that car and got an 1.6 XS. I'd love to have this 208.
8:52: That's because boot space is the first thing Skoda designers get to work on, then the rest of the car. Which makes the Fabia inherently ugly. ;)

The e208 also comes with a compatible app so that you can pre warm the car on cold winter mornings to 21 degrees whilst it's still plugged in so that when you drive the car it is also operating at its optimum temperature to keep the range longer. Nice feature usually costing a bomb on larger luxury cars. That's on every electric version too.

I’m from the United States and I’m tooling around Northern England in the 208 and it’s my first time ever having driven a Peugeot. I have to say that I’ve been in love with this car since I first started driving it. It looks sick and those fangs are insanely distinctive. The 3D gauge cluster is amazing and fun. This 208 makes me wish we had Peugeot back in the States. The ONE thing that stands out in this car as a negative is that the foot well for the manual is too narrow. I can’t get my foot around the clutch without clipping it, so I have to slip my foot up under the clutch to come to a rest. That being said, I would buy this car in a heartbeat, if I could.

Test drove one last weekend and really liked it. Then they told me the price of it. Would be substantially cheaper to buy the non e version and fuel it for several years. There is still a huge financial cost to buying an electric car at the moment. I live in Ireland and the cost of this, even with substantial government grants is easily €10k more than the non e equivalent. I want to do the right thing, but it is difficult for ordinary people to do so with the huge price differences.

I looked at one the other day too and was really disappointed that none of the petrol versions come with heated seats (which I need for lower back issues). You can only spec heated seats on the GT Line version... but for that, you have to pay £1,400 to get them heated & have full leather which I don't like, want or need. Peugeot have lost a sale there. I can't go through a long British Winter with no heated seats. Fourteen hundred quid is a lot of money just to warm my ass! Sadly I have had to cross the 208 off my list and I'm leaning towards the Toyota Corolla GR Sport instead (which does come fully kitted out and of course, with heated seats!).

I quote: "The e208 is sure-footed and able to absorb the worst on offer without losing any handling nous". I don't even begin to understand how two testers can come to >enormously< different conclusions on the subject when they drive the same model car, even allowing that one had 17 inch and the other 16 inch wheels, the latter providing only marginally more compliant a ride than its 'brother' with the bigger wheels. It's beyond baffling.

@@Fogmeister Are you buying directly from Peugeot? They're said they'd install a 7kwh charging point to my house for free but they've gone quiet on that now

Coaster 621 yeah, direct from Peugeot. They mentioned something and I’ve been contacted by PodPoint for a £500 discount (cost £349). But yeah, pretty much sure they mentioned something. Might go this week and ask them.

@@coaster621 Peugeot put me in touch with PodPoint for the installation. It says one their website that the balance is £359 but that remaining amount is paid by Peugeot so I am not paying anything for it.
Get in touch with PodPoint 02072472039 they were really helpful.

Just a quick comment reference the "small" steering wheel. As i work for the brand. the steering wheel is designed to be positioned "UNDERNEATH" the display hence the reason the steering wheel is squared off top and bottom, this should ensure no matter what the position you will always have full view of the screen. (of course there can always be exceptions)
this was also the case for the out going model, it is NOT designed to be "looked through" , unfortunately many people are incorrectly informed about this and have their steering wheel blocking the dials.
just thought i would add some clarification to this :).. hope you all enjoy this fantastic new 208 from Peugeot.

In France you will get government help of 6k€ to buy an electric car, if you take into account gasoline cost more maintenance cost: a e-208 is slightly less costly than a thermic version.

I picked up the allure and the only downside to that was not getting the led headlights but I prefer the 7 inch screen to the ten inch short cut buttons are better right next to the screen I found and I just preferred the lighter interior (it's white in lower models , gt roof lining is black like In the video , I did opt for the 3d display which I love and wireless charge pad has surprised me with how useful it is , difference of going to work with 60% to 70% just for a short drive can come home withore charge than I left sometimes

Great review and a definite contender for best small car and those seats look more plush than my living room. On the downside, I hate shiny black plastic, especially on the lower console where cups, coins and watches will scratch it up in no time.
