These are great looking little cars.
We agree 💯
Ordered my 208 GT Mild-Hybrid with 136 hp last month, if everything goes as planned I can pick it up in August at my dealer - so exited! 🤩💖
Would be nice to see a review of the new 208 hybrid, as that is a completely new drivetrain within the line-up.
Good shout! We’ll get to it asap 🙌🏼
@@cinch Great. Look forward to it
Yo tengo el mío pedido en España, nuevo 208 GT Gasolina, amarillo Águeda, el 25 de febrero me lo entregan 😍💪🏽
Proper switch-gear, NICE!
Great car , whe have have ordered the E- GT Version in blue...now it,s wait until june 2024....Great Review ....thanks for showing the car so good!
Congratulations on your purchase! 😆👌🏼
did you get the car?
Old school review.
E-Autos = Software = Range (eastiamtion & tests) / Route planning / finding charger / charging speed / charging curve (max. ampere up to which percentage) / power consumption in winter / assistance systems / software update (OTA) / possibility for recuperation and/or one pedal drive / etc.
So: You missed it.
And: Welcome in the new (electric car) world.
Thanks for the welcome :)
Thanks for the review, any improvement on the braking feel? The previous version had a spongy/pulsey feel :/
Thanks! Sam said there’s no ‘feel’, but it is easily modulated. And not ‘grabby’
I cant say how the 2024 version is like driving. But I guess it is pretty similar to the 208 e GT 2023 version. I tried it this weeknd and to be honest I was a little bit underwhelmed… It did not feel quick, tight and fun like a GT in my opinion should do. The brakes need to be pushed in half the way before gripping? The sport seats were soft and plush? The steering was kinda fun and alright. The sport mode did not feel different from normal to be honest and the touchscreen, where do I begin? Confusing and messy, never found what I was looking for and struggled to exit when I clicked wrong. The cruise control? Useless and not intuitive at all. Why is it so hidden and why isn’t it on the steering wheel? So old school that it is sad actually.
Since we are looking for a new ev to change our VW e-UP to get one with more range we tought it would be a nice upgrade alternative. Sat down in the 2024 version at the dealer. And the seats are the same, the brakes feels the same, the screen do not seem to be upgraded much either and the cruise control, still the old solution with a cheap lever.
It is not a bad car at all, dont get me wrong but it is just so underwhelming. Perfect for getting from A to B downtown. But it stops there unfortunately:(
When will it be available at the dealerships?
Hey! We'd expect the first 2024 cars to be reaching roads through December. But of course cinch has plenty of 1st-gen e-208s if you can't wait 😄
Air bag is need to go towards dash board 1-2 cm minimum...
Are you guys reviewing the petrol gt?
We will be when Peugeot hosts the launch, yep!
@cinch thanks just wanted to know your thoughts. I drive the 2008 mk2, currently the 130 petrol, very happy with it so far
Hi there, is the colour yellow or light green?
Good question. Peugeot list it as Agueda Yellow. Although, I'd much rather call it tennis-ball-green - Jamil
Anyone know if the updated 208 GT will be available with petrol next year? And also, will faro yellow still be optional?
Hey, we can answer the first q: it will come in petrol, yep, but Peugeot is launching its EV models first from here on. Rest assured we'll be driving the petrol when we can. In fact, we have a 2024 petrol Corsa review coming this Wednesday, if you want an early glimpse of impressions (since they share so many parts) 😄
@@cinch It will be mild hybrid versions by the way
@@Alexsdam That should make it even better :)
@@cinchI’ve got a petrol one on order due for end of dec 😋😋
Is this color really more lemon then green? On Peugeots homepage, the new color looks more green on product photos.
By the way, I like the lemon more
It seems to change in different lights! In the Barcelona sun it was very yellow - and lovely :)
Thanks for answer
Will we get a rebadged one in USA since Stellantis owns them?
Stellantis hasn't said anything about bringing something similar to the US market but we wouldn't hold our breath
At least some negatives could be mentioned ... The biggest problem of this car - entering to the back seats via the minuscule (small also for a teenager) back door is omitted from the shot.
Thanks for the feedback! Sam filmed this review solo and on a tight schedule, so it's more of a quick first-go. But rest assured we're getting into a car in Britain next year to film a deeper review, and we'll test that back door 🙂
I mean this is a small car for mostly city drive, in these type of cars usually people drive alone or 2 persons max. Back seat is for coats etc.. and sometimes when u really need to drive someone, than they can sit there...
If you want to drive it with 5 persons, than go for the 2008 or 3008 instead.
But to say that a small car is small, as a negative point, is pointless.
@@jacobweis8311 Comparing the current and past 208 edition on carsized web page, the back door is clearly smaller. That is the fact. Period
@@jacobweis8311 This. People finally need to learn that
I prefer the design before the facelift.
We quite like that one too. Especially in this yellow www.cinch.co.uk/used-cars/peugeot/208/details/dfb147bb-08c5-46a3-b023-6939866ae1ee
You need to learn to look at the camera lens and not the monitor, once you are happy with the settings.
Rest assured we've told Sam to stop staring at himself for next time... 😜
Three doors model will be top, top...
That would look really cool. Would remind me of the 205 GTI
Tell the guy doing it to stop looking at himself in the screen and look at the lens. Then his eyes will address the audience watching and not look off to the side all the time. 😊
Thanks for the feedback, Sam's promised he'll be better at selfie-shooting next time 😆
He’s looking at the prompter, not at himself.
If the prompter was set up directly above the camera and not next to it it would look more natural.
Too long talking about racing down a mountain. Is it comfortable? What's the noise insulation like? Real world range? Some really basic stuff missed.
Hey Riaz, thanks for the feedback. This was an international launch, so journalists only got a glimpse of the car (and in this case, about an hour and a half with it on one driving route). Rest assured our UK review will go into much more detail as we'll have the car for longer - and on familiar roads! Watch this space 😆
Nobody wants a battery car
Can't agree there. We're seeing demand and interest for battery electric vehicles
Wannabe topgear presenter🤣 this is a city runabout mupet
Worst tyres ever
Would you change to a different set if you owned an e-208?
Proper Left-side-drive.
We prefer the right side 😆
