    I've had a Peugeot with the iCockpit like yours. The idea is to look over the top of the small steering wheel at the speedo display. Once the steering wheel & seat is adjusted you'll acclimatise to the set up quickly.

    I drove an e-Golf from Harwich to Edinburgh with 3 charge stops. It has a smaller battery than the 208e. Speed has a massive influence on range, driving 60-65mph instead of 70-75 is the difference between destroying your range and achieving the estimated range and completing the journey.

    • @sammooresphoto
      @sammooresphoto  Před 3 lety +1

      I'll have to test out the slower speeds just to see. I've got one or two trips that are basically max range but with the ability to charge at the other end so we shall see how it goes. It's mighty depressing watching someone storm past at 78mph

    Hey Sam,
    Love the fact that you chose to but an electric car that is not from one of the big 5 German brands. The colour and styling are great.
    The interesting fact that really tickled me is; “if your range is low, follow behind a lorry for reduced wind resistance”. Good idea for range extension but maybe a bit boring for the view. 😅

      @sammooresphoto  Před 3 lety +1

  • @UrbanWrench
    @UrbanWrench Před 3 lety +2

    Honestly, you can get any EV in the world, but added with the disadvantage that it’s only for small runs around the city with the advantage of being eco friendly. As long as you have a dedicated place in the garage for the EV, and put it on charge almost every night, just like we do with our phones, and that should solve the problem. Congrats on your new car Sam!

    Here’s an update with a 2022 car (only had it 3 weeks). I had a journey which was about 60 mile round trip and had 120 miles of range estimated by the car so plenty of spare. It was a bit wet on the journey and I must admit I had it in sport mode and drove it ‘enthusiastically’.
    By the time I got near home having done 55 miles the estimated range per the dashboard was down to 20 miles. I probably had way more in reality. It does show the software reacts really heavily to the way you drive and conditions. I was never in danger of running out but dropping 100 miles range when you’ve done 55 is scary.
    Saying that I love the car for local journeys it’s very comfortable and quick and we did a 240 mile round trip with one public charger stop last week with no problems - with reasonable driving it does 180-200 miles with no issues.

  • @gbtivbay
    @gbtivbay Před 3 lety +1

    Hi Sam - You need to do some more journeys and the mileage will settle to a more reliable range for you. Also I recommend you download the MyPeugeot App and use the pre-warm climate feature 10 mins before you drive it, it will extend your mileage, especially in weather below 15 degrees. I would also say an 80% charge at a fuel station should really of been left to 100%, they flow very fast and it pushes the peak % of power up quickly, its not the same as a full charge, im trying to say 80% top up is maybe more like 70%, 100% is 100%....its the way a fast charger acts

    • @sammooresphoto
      @sammooresphoto  Před 3 lety

      Ok, I’ll give the warm up a shot. Annoyingly you can’t seem to do it whilst you are in the car. Why on earth is 80% ~ 70% 😂. That makes no sense. Like turning it up to 11 🤘🏻

  • @decimal1815
    @decimal1815 Před 7 měsíci

    I ignore the guesso-meter completely. Just measure what kWh capacity you have before journey, then use your previous driving efficiently to estimate range. Always give a 20% buffer to reach your destination or charge stop, and take temperature and speed into account. Hills can influence range on some parts of UK too.
