  • I'm excited to share these new art supplies with you that I bought in two May art hauls! Yikes! But it's ok, I have faith that I'll get to using these art supplies in my June projects!

Any tips for using the chalky pastels? Or the acrylics? 😬

Chalky pastels - Don't would be my tip, lol. But I'm biased - I don't like them. The acrylics look fun, though, and I can't wait to see the watercolors and oil pastels.

@@MirandaWatsonArt oh my... It's a good thing I only grabbed four small ones then! 🤪 Thank you - will be videoing more tomorrow when I have the house to myself again! 😍

I was hoping you would tell me! 😂 I recently bought Jackson’s soft pastels on clearance (super cheap at £9). It’s a set of 24. I have used them previously on top of watercolour to add texture, and of course they can be used with water a little like watercolour. That’s particularly good if you hate the feel of them. 🎨🖌👩🏻‍🎨

@@anitadavidson1266 oh, I think I saw those but read they were really soft. They look like amazing colours though! I think the way you used them is how I thought I’d use them.. will have to test out over the weekend I think, I’m taking the entire weekend to play with my new supplies.. HEAVEN! 😍👩‍🎨❤️

Goethite + buff titanium makes a beautiful mix for sand. The goethite granulates to create texture!

Have you see Ryan O’Rourke, he does amazing acrylic tutorials, you might enjoy him if you like Laura 🤗 I put him on my TV overnight while sleeping to… maybe….hopefully… subliminally learn how to paint 😜
And ohhhhh mannnnn, I love watching art hauls when I’m on a buying freeze 😂 Okay, it’s not quite the same dopamine hit as buying all this cool stuff myself, but it’s close…. kinda like playing slot machine app games instead of playing the real pokies… and cheaper! Teehee!

"Subliminal learning to paint" 🤣 That sounds fabulous way to absorb all the info! I will have to go check out Ryan's channel, and pick up some tips! thank you! 😎 And I'll make sure to keep the art haul videos coming each month, just to help you with your buying freeze! 😉🤣

Liquitex was purchased by the same French company that owns Winsor Newton. Both brands are now manufactured in France.

I've got the liquitex muted collection of inks. The separation is normal. You've just got to shake them like crazy. They don't granulated when you use them.

Hi Evie, Atelier is a good brand of acrylic, and also unique. It is slow drying, but even when it first dries, it can be reactivated a little for a few weeks before it becomes completely permanent. Cool eh? ❤️🎨🖌👩🏻‍🎨❤️

Oh this is amazing to know Anita, it will be great to go back in and tweak if I need to! Though I've only really been using acrylic as a little accent using a catalyst wedge thing... 🖌😊♥

Hi Tara! It's one I got from Daler Rowney. Its a 160gsm weight, with black card cover which made it lighter to carry than their other sketchbooks, but I haven't seen them make them for some time I'm afraid.
