  • It's that time of the month - new art supplies! I love sharing my art haul with you each month, and September's Art Haul is a bigger one than normal.
I mentioned quite a few channels that inspired some purchases this month, so I'm linking them below for anyone that wants to see those!
Probably my most favorite channel: / @sandihester
    Followed by: / @natashanewtonart
Then there's: / @melaniechadwick who also inspired some of the pencils I bought!

“But Jackson’s was having a sale.” So say we all. Happened to me last night when I discovered the Schminke supergranulation 3 packs were on promotion and I couldn’t resist. The funny thing was that the day before I’d written down all the pigments in each one so I could try to mix something similar with colours I already had. Thanks for sharing-I do love a haul video!

Pah ha ha ha ha ha... it happens SO OFTEN though... I too looked at their super granulation sets today... but I want the ones in the wooden boxes - because they look soooo pretty - but £75 for one box? 😭 Glad you enjoyed, lovely to see you! 😘

I believe the "flesh" color isn't referring to skin color, but the flesh color that one sees when the epidermis layer of skin is peeled back, as in the color of a freshly de-feathered and skinless chicken thigh. If you peel all our epidermis layers away, we are all that same flesh color underneath.

Thank you. I think I am too used to the fashion industry where for the longest time flash was the term used to describe the color of clothing for caucasian people only. Thank you!

I loove to watch long videos with swatching, but if you are worried that people may not watch you can break the video into two parts. Ah so many great supplies! I love Isaro I hope you enjoy them as well 🥰

I too love a long video, I can get stuck into working on something while I watch / listen. But I always worry about putting people off. 🤪 I should just go for it, thank you for the encouragement! 😘 And so far, I am enjoying the Isaro, beautiful paints! 😍

Hi Evie - nice watch to see all this. A thought to share, I have all kinds of water colour blocks and I’m not a fan of working in pads… so I cut up many sheets into A6 size, any smaller size that wouldn’t waste paper. I have a stack of them - 50-100 depending. And I can grab a few when moving or just take them as I go practicing or playing around. They hold all art supplies and after a while you have a stack of small paintings. It came about from junk journaling and making large tags… but now I make my own journals and then paint in them as art books.we are out of NL for 3 months but back Xmas, I’ll be watching. Jackie.

Oh I LOVE the idea of this Jackie, thanks for sharing. I have plenty of paper I can cut to smaller sizes too. 😍 Enjoy your time away! 😘

I get that the Peg and Awl stuff is nice, but some of the things are far too overpriced, particularly the wooden items. 🤷‍♀️ The roll you got made is real leather and so beautiful. I love that you could ask for exactly what you wanted and got your name embossed on it.

Absolutely. And the thing is, I can easily make something very similar to the Peg & Awl items, which is why I keep going back to them, but not actually buying. I'm inspired to make my own... though not the wooden ones... 😜 And yes, the Etsy shop were very accommodating. I've been using the roll while back in the UK and it is lovely - I just think it's too stiff and bulky for every day / out and about use. 😎
