YES! one of my favorites. Amazing live. A lot of the songs on this album are named after people that Maynard knew in real life. Thomas, Magdalena, Brena, Renholder and Judith :)

This album started it all for me. One of those albums that I feel like you need to listen to front to bk. I know you can't do that yet but I think you'll see what I mean once you can. It throws you in so many directions but always brings you bk. Sounds a little crazy I know. Haha I could go in more but damn can't wait for you guys to experience the whole thing!! Adam Thomas Jones. There was a lot of rifts in between the members in Tool around the Lateralus era. They all kept it really on the DL and kept it professional, but that's how I choose to interpret it. Then The Grudge would be about letting go of his own grudge weighing him down to literally produce gold. Schism as well could be interpreted as another song in this interpersonal conflict series.
gives a little more insight to the themes in the Laterulus album, but that's all I will say🤐

Mer de Noms is their best album by far for me. Eat the Elephant sounds more like a Puscifer album than APC.
To me, lyrically, ETE sounds more like Fear Inoculum, but the music is definitely APC.
I agree although I do love Eat the Elephant. For me Mer de Noms is a 10/10, 13th Step is a 9.8/10 and eat the elephant is a 9/10, Hourglass and Get the Lead Out are throwaway songs IMO.

The Best APC album! Period.
The drum beat that comes in at 9:08 caved my head in, then the ending melted my face off. Best song on an album that is full of awesomeness.
Really glad you visited this song. It's one of my favorite APC cuts. And, Mer De Noms is definitely my favorite APC Album. It's just a Beautiful piece of work. I also saw them live in Seattle just after the Album dropped. I saw them play Before I listened to the entire Album. I was only familiar with Judith when I bought my tickets to the show. It was Amazing!

You should check out the movie " the current war" which is the story of Tesla and Edison along with Westinghouse about the conflict between the two. Very good movie and gives details about the relationship they had and the conflict that ensues. Really eye opening movie!!
I belive this is about St Thomas The Apostle who doubted Jesus' divinity. It makes perfect sense with Maynard's views towards religion...Mer de Noms is their best album imho. All killer no filler!!

Maynard named himself after a character he used to draw in high school with the poetry that he wrote. He adopted the name while he was in the army. You guys should definitely read the book. 🌈 the more you know. ❤️🤘

“Mind of Maynard” 😬 If its off Mer De Noms, I’d argue it’s probably more Billy Howerdel’s mind. Lyrics, definitely Maynard James Keenan, but from what I recall the album was pretty much complete by the time Maynard got involved laying down vocals.
I will say, I had heard Billy wrote the album’s songs with the singer from one of my favorite bands in mind, Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins.
Mer De Noms is by far my favorite A Perfect Circle album. Howerdel has another project, Ashes Divide, you may be interested in checking out.

Mer de Noms is IMO A Perfect Circle's greatest album. I love Thomas. The ending is so powerful.
Robert was one of the guitarist for King Crimson along with Greg Lake of Emerson Lake and Palmer. Frip did a lot of work with Frank Zappa Frip is the godfather of computer synth guitar

Billy wrote the entire album maynard only did the vocals/lyrics Billy tracked all instruments minus violin and maybe a couple drum tracks that Josh Freeze was brought in to do.
Y’all gotta react to Korn - Blind live at Rock AM ring 2007 with guess who…JOEY JORDISON playing drums. It’s absolutely insanity. Might just be better than the Woodstock version. Joey playing drums just adds to it. You won’t regret watching that one

Love this one. This album still one of their best imo. You should react to Diary of a lovesong by APC. Basically a Mashup up ozzys diary of a madman and The Cure lovesong as only Maynard can put together. Also can you react to some Afghan Whigs and Down.

THIS IS MY JAM!!! One my name is Thomas and i just LOVE this song guys... Eat the Elephant is Meh compared to this album bros. Also the Mer De Noms translates to sea of names since most of the track titles are names
Maynard has always had a rough relationship with God. Listen to Judith and you'll understand what I mean. Judith was inspired by Maynard's mother who had an undying love for her God, who in Maynard's opinion left her broken and alone. I believe this song is referring to the biblical Thomas because he had asked Christ to show him his hands where the nails pierced them before he would believe that he was really the resurrected son of God. I believe Maynard wants to forgive not only God, but himself, and be forgiven in return. I think this song is Maynard's way of reconnecting to his God in some way.
