There's something about the way that Maynard delivers the vocals in this song that will continually grow on you every time you hear it. This has become one of my favorite songs on the album and that in itself is crazy.
This album, Mer de Noms, is just one of those where you just play it, shut up and listen. It will somehow grow on you a little bit more every time. Even if it's the 1000th time you've listened to it. Whether it be chilling at home, going for a drive a night to clear your head, whatever.
Poooooooisoned….and hooooooopelesss…Maynard’s use of the letter ‘o’ in this song is otherworldly.

Billy was adams guitar tech while they were on tour.
This song perfectly summarizes my relationship with my ex-girlfriend who was addicted to heroin and trying to get clean but struggling to get treatment. This album came out the year before and when I listened to it during the relationship it helped me cope with both her pain and strife, and mine.
I feel you this song is exactly like how myself and my last love were.. I really thought i could help her with love
I have always felt this was about his mom. He was young when she passed so he thought there was something he could do, but failed. I think this is him realizing there was nothing he could have done!
Read Maynard’s book! Billy was tools guitar tech and he wanted to start his own band originally imagining a feminine vocalist. Maynard heard some of his music and he thought he could sing to it.
It worked out!
Maynard took the idea of a female vocalist when he had Carina Round open for him now she's basically permanent in Puscifer
I can’t remember who I saw say it on CZcams a while back, but APC (in terms of vocals at least) really is like a softer, motherly counterpart to TOOL. His voice is really hypnotic and wonderful, hence why it’s been my favorite band hands down since childhood.

This song is in my top 3 of a perfect circles songs hope you liked it as much as I do. This song helped me through 3 tours in Iraq.
A Perfect Cirlce is the highest bebuting new rock artist the year they came out. Number 4 in the charts after like boy bands and Britney Spears or something like that. Great right out the box. There is Nine Inch Nails ties to this group and a song or two on this album written by Trent Reznor I believe. Heard Billy talking about this stuff in an interview.

The guitarist you're thinking of is Danny Lohner who was/is a live guitar player for NIN and possibly Marilyn Manson. He did production work on their earlier albums and remixed some of their songs. I think.

Love it my brotha dudes!! It’s been awhile since I’ve heard this song, and man I just can’t believe how versatile and dynamic Maynard truly is as a lead vocalist. I can’t think of another vocalist that has this type of reputation and dominance in the music world. 3 multi-platinum selling bands!!! He’s like the Tom Brady of rock vocalists.
Recommendations: Oceans, A singularity, Tiny Monsters or Galileo by Puscifer or Eat the Elephant by APC!!
This song seems underappreciated only because this whole album consists of beauties lol...get it? Seriously can't wait until you guys get to "Eat The Elephant." You really saved the best for last on the album of the same name. Peace Brothers.

Greetings Guys! I have been patiently waiting for you to cover this one. This is a Beautiful song. I love how Maynard uses his voice for this one. The Lyrics, the whole vibe of the song is just Amazing. Let's see what you say. I'm commenting before I watch you react. I still maintain as always; this is my favorite APC Album and probably always will be. I just don't see how they can top it.
