There have been case studies that show people who are drunk hurt themselves less in falls as they don't move during the fall and dont break things, I.e. arms, legs. The thing is alcohol caues you to be in more falls. And in some cases you'd rather land on an arm or leg and break it than land on your head/neck and damage something more vital.
