Reedsy and Scrivener are among my favorite writing apps. But which one is more ideal for the beginner novelist? Today, let's look at 11 points you'll want to consider when deciding for yourself.
Keep in mind that this is purely based on my own experiences using both Reedsy and Scrivener. Although both of them offer a great deal when it comes to writing and publishing your book, only one is catered to beginners. In this video, I'll try to show you which one it is and why.
However, the best writing app for you is the one that works best for your needs. Personally, I use both Reedsy and Scrivener to write different story types. For example, I use Reedsy to write my novels that will come out soon while I manage the Despair audiobook series in Scrivener.
There's nothing wrong with trying a few apps out for certain projects to see which one works best.

Very articulate and informative comparison. You sound very even-minded about both apps. One thing that would help make your video more helpful to someone like me who is not fully familiar with these apps is for you to provide more screenshots or video of the apps themselves during your analysis. Great video, thanks for posting it. I ditched Scrivener because it doesn't sync on iCloud. I use Storyist and sometimes Word - I enjoy writing in both. I have dabbled in Reedsy, but I'm unsure about it yet. Right now, I'm experimenting with a combination of Trello (for its fluid outline cards) and Google Docs (for its simplicity). I also plan my writing projects in pencil in various notebooks.
Nice. That's a common argument among many writers. Some love cloud sync while others prefer local saves. It all comes down to what you prefer. I use Google docs myself when it comes to collaborations. I wish Reedsy had that built in. 😁
Hi!!! I LOVE SCRIVENER.
Yeah, I'm really liking having the split screen view and the customization. It's a bit more difficult to learn, but has so much more to it.
@@WriterSanctuary I MUST CONFESS, it's been a long time since really using it. i used it to write my memoir.
@@EIDLExperts Right now, I am using it to set up and finish writing Despair for the audiobook and Wattpad novel. I'm probably going to use it to finish VII as well.

What's the best way to learn Scrivener? (pls don't say just start using it) I could never get familiar with it.
Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by "lessen" Scrivener, sorry. If you're wondering about how to learn Scrivener, I find that diving right in and using the tools as you write to be best for me. Then again, I like it difficult. :)
I plan on creating more tutorials for Scrivener for both the WriterSanctuary blog and the CZcams channel. In any event, Scrivener is quite popular and there are tutorials all over the Internet if you'd like to learn more.

It's my teeth. Sometimes, I have a hard time speaking with them. I've been trying to work with them, but it's still a challenge.
