I'd like to see Pulisic operating as a CAM, with Loftus and Reijnders in the midfield, either as CM or CDM. Depending on the situation, one of them can push forward to join the attack, creating a four-pronged assault to overwhelm the opposition's defense. Communication between Loftus and Reijnders is crucial here, ensuring smooth transitions as they alternate roles. Both possess the ability to execute long shots effectively, adding another dimension to our attacking play. Adli, with his exceptional vision and pinpoint passing accuracy, will further enhance our midfield dynamics. His knack for surprising passes and adept ball retention will keep the opposition off balance. Alongside Bennacer and Musa, this midfield trio will introduce a fresh tactical approach to our attacking play. Our starting lineup could feature Leao and Chukweeze as wingers, supported by Pulisic, Loftus, and Reijnders in the midfield. Later in the game, we can introduce Adli, Musa, and Bennacer to shake up the midfield, with Okafor coming on for one of the wingers and Luka replacing Olivier. Rotating our midfield combinations from game to game will keep our opponents guessing and give us the edge in every match.

For me, regarding pioli, we've seen this before. Pioli does well when he's under pressure. He is not consistent if we want to compete for titles every season. We keep pioli and next season, we will have the same problems, our players will be injured, we'll drop silly points and when the pioli out rumours come back, he'll put up a similar run like this. If we can get a better manager then pioli then the management should seriously consider it, if not we can keep him. That's my opinion

I see this season as transitional one. It's pretty difficult to have perfect results when you have 18 debutantes. 18 debutantes, man... We could've easily ended up like Chelsea, but fortunately... we didn't. Also, Inter's form doesn't help at all. They are well oiled machine, full of talented and experienced players, with an excellent coach, genius CEO and they are probably the best squad in the world right now. We also need to respect Pioli's legacy. He put us on the football map after so many years of tears and sorrow.

I agree, RLC's positioning affects Pulisic's ability to go inside and exploit spaces. It also seems like RLC prefers diagonal runs to the right corner, not so much down the left, which takes away Puli's ability to make that run. Puli is just OK with his heel's planted on the touchline. But goals are goals, whoever scores them. I'd like to see Chuk start and Puli come in for RLC in the 60th minute against Monza.

Ive been saying this but I agree on RLC and pulisic positions. I really wanna see chuck suceed and pulisic is better as a 10. However, the movement was MUCH better in the 442 on Thursday, even if it's kinda ugly and not Milan DNA. Puli and loftus traded places often and puli was able to move inside and create. Created Chances are always higher when puli can create with giroud and leao. Theo is the most important player because he makes leao dangerous, I think leao is still carrying an injury and doesn't have the top gear rn but it's forced him to evolve his game. Theo is absolutely crucial as the engine on the left to create space for leao. Pioli is still out, a club like milan cannot be knocked out of two competitions inside a month every year (with the exception of the scudetto season). Not acceptable. EX: Madrid fans will whistle if the style of play is not the madrid way, even if they're winning la liga and in the ucl semis, they know the standard. They used to boo mourinhos madrid sometimes even in victory. If we want to get back to that level, we need to have the correct standards. let's not forget, we are Milan. Only madrid can boast as a more successful/legendary club.

Recent results have been good, but too often the performances haven't been. We needed a lucky bounce goal within the last 10 mins to win against Frosinone, 90+3 minute goal against Udinese in a game where we didn't create much, lost a lead at the dying minutes against Bologna etc.
This team can't control a game or really protect a lead. Yes, we managed to win against Napoli in horrible form, but we got lucky the ball hit the post twice instead of going in.
Also, Radio Rossonera did excellent reporting earlier this season to look into the injuries we've suffered this season as well as the previous ones. We've basically had twice as many injuries under Pioli as we did have under any manager before him, especially muscle injuries. Have you considered that those injuries might be caused by the way the team trains and/or plays?

About Pioli, I already saw everything I needed. For me he must leave the le club no matter what happens in the last game.
We already saw this situation. Pioli knows how the end very well his seasons. He already saved his place twice like that.
But we also know that if we keep him another season, it's going to be the same: a good start, a long phase of no sense football and a very good ending of the season.
It's always the same schema. And that schema doesn't help you win title.
You need a coach that can keep the level high all the time.
But it's true that if he win the scudetto or the europa league, it won't be easy the not explain to players that you're not keeping him.
So for me that's the point. Not the coming "Big games".

And honestly I'm not so keen on him given his general demeanor and history with previous managements. I prefer Pioli to stay one more season. If they can get Thiago Motta then yes by all means. 1. A horrifying string of injuries going back to October.

Happy for the win and this is not a critic for yesterday but just an overall point on pioli, sorry if is long, the thing with him is that it look exactly he starting another cicle, with half team that he already know but still another cicle exactly as the year when he did arrived where then we did spent that 100 mln by elliot, it feel a big sense of dejavu and this should have been the year of the quality jump so see us after 110 mln spent be happy to be CL zone make it sad for everyone, also another problem is pioli = he want to keep his athletic staff, the first thing to do at the end of the season is to fire all pioli's athletic staff they can't stay in Milan anymore but pioli don't know how to work without them so if he stay 100% he want to keep all of them and at that point what do we do? Me as a lot of other peoples don't want another season with a total of 34 injuries while is only half february...also every year we talk about always the same problems in defense that never get solved by pioli and this year outsdie this last 2 games the stats say we conceeded too much goals and almost 2 goals per game meaning that for win we need to score 3 goals most of the times which is a lot to score 3 goals per game, Bologna got better defence then us, and the counter part of this 10 good games are that 2 months in the first part of the season where in 7/8 games we won only 1 or 2 time so now we can't just say pioli is great, every year he do half season good and half bad this is a fact and if he continue to do it even after winning a scudetto and arriving in CL semi then probably that's his limit and he starting another cicle that will take 1 or 2 years just to bring us back where we already was at the end of last year, this is why conte was the option he in italy go straight for win

I've always defended Pioli until at least in december when even I couldn't do it anymore. Look, I wanna be just, live outside of the moment. To make our opinion on Pioli, we need to look at the season as a whole, the causes for us to do well and do badly. We had a record level of injuries, a complete change of the midfield, but we had very familiar issues that could have been prevented. I don't think there are any really good replacement options out there. It's still too soon to tell.
What we need to do is not make any stupid moves by selling key players in the Mercato or changing formation and the structure. Just like Inter did this season, we keep the foundations and build over that. If that means a new coach, so be it. If we can't do with Pioli, so be it.

Also, re: Pioli, the build up is frustrating to watch at times. The ball just swings from one touch line to the other via the center backs. Back and forth, back and forth. Why is it so difficult to involve the midfielders? I don't see many passes from a CB to a CM with enough time for the CM to turn and play forward. Is that on the midfielders not getting open, the center backs not being daring enough, or Pioli's system? That first half was hard to watch at times.

Milan are winning, don’t tinker too much with the formula. CP is more effective at LW or CAM. Leao is Milan’s best player and not vacating LW, so CP is best moving centrally opportunistically in alignment with RLC

I don’t think Pioli is inconsistent. I think the board has constantly fucked with him, letting key players leave without replacing them. Except this year. We lost 1 key player but then got 6 new players to integrate. He had a rough time integrating and with injuries but that’s over and we’re seeing how well Pioli does when he has a decent squad at his disposal for a period of time. If we don’t shake up the team next season we could see Milan become top dog under Pioli.

Can we make it a rule that Reijnders is not allowed to shoot. I don't care if he's on the goal line and the closest defender is at midfield. He cannot hit the broadside of a barn and it's really annoying.

Pioli i think should stay bro. Tell me a team with 38 injuries and still is at top lv. Remember MC lost 2 main players and was in trouble. But 38 serious injuries and still at the top of serie A and managed to be in europa league ita a lot. Now all members are almost back. Pioli should stay even though i was one of them who keep saying Pioly out.

Regarding Pioli. Im not totally against him leaving if he is replaced by someone like Conte. Someone with titles behind his name and vast experience! Dropping Pioli for some random will be terrible for Milan, it will be the same bus with a different driver! Its our players that need to change, NOT our coach!

It frustrates me endlessly when guys say a team, or player is in fantastic form but they are from a small league. Fine Rennais is doing well in Ligue1, great for them but send them to play in Spain or England or Italy and see what they do. Its the same for a player.. he's doing great in MLS.. but send him to play at Real Madrid, its unlikely he will do as well or score as much.

As a Pulisic fan, I have to say his game has changed from the first part of the year. I agree he is not finding space inside, but I also see him dropping back a lot more in the past month or so. Leah rarely defends. Pulisic is much better with his left foot than Leao. The cross that Kush praised earlier from Rafa was some nice dribbling but a poor cross that missed both Oli and RLC. It came off the right foot.

    • @footballkush
      @footballkush  Před 3 měsíci

True, Leao is the only player on the team who's given the licence to not defend. Pulisic does drop deeper, to help out in the back.

Just like u said kush he is good enough to take the team out of the CL group stages or get them into top 4 but is not a championship coach.
