  • Never finished editing this video back in May, not sure why, so, better late than never!
    I serviced the carb, fitted an air filter and tested it out, only to find something important had failed, which at the time I didn't know was the diodes on the rotor...

    Nice video I have 1 of these and the voltage is reading far too high what do you think it could be

      A couple of things come to mind, one being the governor has been fiddled with, so is running the engine too fast, the other thought is the switch that goes between 50hz and 60hz may be faulty or loose, leaving it on 50hz mode when running at 60hz which would push the voltage up too high...

      @@TheRottenShed thanks so much for the fast replie I took the side casings off today and noticed 1 of the cables looks disconnected looks to me like it’s the throttle which would cause this issue I just bought a pair of them for 100 euro 1 has low compression the other to many volts hoping now this fixes it

      such a generator produces more than 300V, tell me what could be the reason, the engine speed is good

      I also have too high voltage (210 VAC on 120 VAC model), and frequency is ~80Hz. Has anyone solved this issue?

    Best video I need position gasoline lines please

      I'd recommend downloading the owner's manual, in there it has a perfect depiction of the positions for the fuel lines under the transporting & storage heading, it's not easy for me to describe it here in words alone, it'd be much easier looking at the manual's picture... :)

    direct connection to power socket is forbidden by who?

    • @TheRottenShed
      @TheRottenShed  Před 7 lety

      The laws of the UK, because connecting a generator to back-feed a house via a socket is highly illegal as it poses a serious risk of electrocution for engineers working on isolated power lines that could be energised at several thousand volts because one numpty plugged his generator into his house's non-isolated wiring and sent power up the lines, through the HV to LV transformers backwards and basically photonicinduction'd the workers to death... :)

      You're quite right there. This happened to a linesman in Sussex working for Seeboard when he was repairing damaged power lines after the 1987 hurricane. It was near Rushlake Green and there is a memorial plaque on the gate to a footpath where it happened. The only way it can be done safely is with a specially made changeover switch which must be professionally installed. Either that or run an extension lead through a window and just use that instead.

      deadly mistake cause there are 2 reasons
      ★ you will kill any technician working at lines when shut off cause yiur power will go also into the grid
      ★ in case you have grid + generator running it needs a synchronisation between grid + power generator that this machjne never could achieve
      your deadly risk
