This is my epic journey through the classic old Minecraft modpack called Gregtech: New Horizons aka GTNH
But instead of playing it in a normal world, I'm playing it in a void world starting out with nothing...
Yup!
Literally, NOTHING!!!
The challenge is called "Garden of Grind"
I'm playing and recording this through the Prism Minecraft modpack Launcher.

5:52 The reason it's taking your xp instead of killing you is because of the Last Stand enchantment on your helmet (could catch a glimpse of it at 20:02). The higher the total level of that enchantment across your armour, the less xp it steals to save you, giving you more bang for your buck.

mushrooms grow in dark. You need to just place one, and if it's dark there, it will grow new mushrooms around.
Great videos! Nice to see somebody attempting and recording this insane challenge. I did not know that gravel doesn't fall on this version of minecraft/gtnh, but a ceiling made of it looks so cursed

the gravel didn't fall because the draconic evolution placed item (the skull) was supporting it, if you were talking about the grave mob farm ones

16:04 That's a random effect given to you for having Thaumcraft warp. That specific effect besides the audio-visual stuff grants you a free research point, so it's somewhat useful! Though I'm kind of confused how you didn't know what that was. I'd assume that if you're playing GoG you would have at least some exposure to GT:NH and Thaumcraft as a result of that?
FYI, the only way you could have gotten that warp in the first place was by eating zombie brains, which give you temporary warp

how did you manage to get a witch and zombie villager at the same time? is there some way to make sure neither will despawn?
Well, whenever I spotted a witch(vanilla one) I just punched it randomly to make a player interaction and made sure that I never fell off the into the void otherwise it’ll despawn.
As for the zombie villager, that is just a waiting game I’m afraid…
They are quite rare at spawning as they are basically just zombies in 1.7.10, so be warned as they sound like regular zombies(that through me off big time lol)
@@gardenofgrindMobs will not despawn at all if they are not further than 32 block away from the player. On the other hand they will despawn, as soon as you are more than 128 blocks away (aka falling into the void). considering the very limited area he is working on the despawning distance shouldn't be an issue as long as he doesn't fall of the plattform.

It is indeed, I found this out by someone mentioning it to me in the comments.
It’s an enchantment called “Last Stand”.
You have a lot of bones which you can turn into bone meal, which then you can use on carrots to fasten up their growth
Bones don't have a recipe for bonemeal in gtnh
@@r0xjo0 As I was watching further the idea of different recipies on this modpack hit me and I realised it when I saw how he split wood to get slabs, but thanks
