    I would love to see one made that will work with preexisting breech plug in-lines, maybe have it where you can tread it in like a breech plug does on my cva accura lrx

    I just got a cva wolf about a month ago. I really wish I had just shelled out the money for this platform.

      I have a CVA wolf as well. I’ve had mine for a few years. I use loose powder and ball and patch. My gun even has iron sites. I don’t wanna put a scope on him because I think it defeats the purpose of muzzleloading.

    What's left in the barrel, Do you have to clean it every shot?

    • @MuzzleLoaderscom
      @MuzzleLoaderscom  Před 2 lety

      The Triple 8 powder that is used in the Federal FireStick is pretty clean burning but we still recommend cleaning the barrel after every shot to ensure consistency.

    The firestick is not new.
    The civil war era Smith carbine used bacily the same thing it just had the bullet in front of its tube.
    So why not just use the smith repo? It would make muzzleloadeing that much easier?

      They don't regulate the sharps 59 or smith carbine any different than they do standard blackpowder rifles.
      You can order them from bass pro or dixey gun work when they had them in stock.

    Anything more then 100gr of powder is a waste. I've proven it over n over. More then 100gr don't give any more velocity just gives a big muzzle flash. Don't waste ur time w more then 100

    Says pros and cons in the title. Sounds like this must be sponsored by federal and traditions. How about the corrosive powder that now is sitting on a right angle in your barrel after you fire it and now how do you get that powder perfectly off that edge that your bullet seats against to prevent corrosion? I love the idea of the fire stick but is triple 8 non corrosive ? I find it hard to believe anyone is getting that powder residue out of that inner ring the bullet seats against and in years your going to see a huge problem .

    I accidentally picked some up because I thought they were rechargeable cartridges. And I was just horrified that they would even design a breech-loading muzzleloader. In my opinion that defeats the purpose of muzzleloading. Obviously, at this point anybody who would get this type of gun sadly muzzleloading isn’t for them. They should just stick with modern firearms. Don’t kid yourself by getting some platform like this and think it’s going to be economical to shoot.

    • @savage1108
      @savage1108 Před 7 měsíci

      How can you "accidently" pick up something like this ?. Is says for Firestick compatible rifles ONLY....and obviously you don't have one. I own a NitroFire and it's awesome, gets me in the woods 2 weeks early during prime time before Modern firearms season kicks off, and 2 more extra weeks in late season. I also like the ease and convivence of unloading after a hunt. Then you say " Don’t kid yourself by getting some platform like this and think it’s going to be economical to shoot" when you just admitted to buying the most expensive component "accidently", apparently it was economical for you to buy it "accidently" . FYI You can find Firestick from $20 to $29 sometimes cheaper on sale...Not that expensive at all, if you want an economical sport, maybe try badminton or power walking

    This is an absolutely terrible idea. I can’t believe that they are able to convince anyone that it is a good idea to pigeon hole themselves like this. Let’s see why don’t we not only create a “muzzleloader” that can only use one type of propellant, lets also only be able to acquire it from a manufacturer that has proven supply issues. I was disappointed when I couldn’t get Blackhorn 209 and I had to develop a Triple 7 load to hunt with out of my favorite muzzleloader, but I could do so. Without Firesticks you have a pipe with a stock and are headed to the grocery store instead of the treestand. I may not always be able to get the components I want but I can get by, anyone with a NitroFire or CVA’s new Crossfire can stay in camp and cook. No you can’t borrow my spare either. As a side note somebody please develop a competitor to Blackhorn 209 and don’t sell out to Hogdon. I don’t have an issue with Hogdon they make, well now they make, all of my favorite powders and it scares me. I really don’t like having all of my eggs in one basket.
