Ah that's a nice comment Jennifer. I have only just started to wear lipstick - at 50. I know what you mean about it looking foreign on me. I wear a mask most of the day at work (pre covid too), so sometimes even when I look at my mouth it feels bizarre. Anyhow, please persevere. I did, and now I love it. I am about to order some Lisa Eldridge, which is what brought me to this channel. I also wear a bit of blusher which is completely out of my comfort zone. When I was a younger lady I had strong brows & lashes, so if I wore much make up it seemed like I was in drag as it was too much for my face. As my features have faded, they welcome a bit of help from a bit of colour.

I was waiting for this video! You may have changed my mind about New Wave. It wasn't one I purchased, but now I'm rethinking that. I knew I'd love her reds and pinks but I was the most surprised at how much I love Meet Me in Berlin on my lips. I think all the colors are lovely on you.

Wow such a great review of these gorgeous lipsticks. I picked up Strawberry Shock, Meet Me in Berlin, Night Thoughts and Je Ne Sa qai (sp?). I love every lipstick I’ve ever purchased of hers and am now eyeing off New Wave.
What I love about her lipsticks is the colours she curates and the inspiration she gets for her lipsticks is charming. I love how she shares her full inspiration, and being a creative, I guess she can’t help but share it all. It’s what sets her apart from other brands, her heart and soul is in it. 💄❤️💋
New Wave is just a delight! I can see how it my not work on every undertone - but for me, it's a huge winner!

Sunday Matinee is the prettiest 😍
I almost didn’t get Le Mepris for fear or it would be way too light as some previous releases you mentioned but surprisingly it’s a lovely color and I am about your same skin tone. This is the one light color she’s done that I would highly recommend to people because it is a Shearer finish and it has a peachiness to it it just works.
I finally got my package today after it was lost. I tried to be conservative with 3, and now I'm wishing I got some more!
Great, thorough review of these lipsticks! It is so hard for me to pick a favorite-they all looked beautiful! I really liked Palazzo and the coral shades. The very first shade was very flattering. Shades that lean cool such as that one I tend to steer away from, but maybe I should venture out of my comfort zone. Your makeup was perfect and complemented each one! I especially like how your eye makeup and cheek colors are very cohesive and tie everything together. Would love to see a tutorial! You had linked some products below and I was wondering what shades you are in the Victoria Beckham bronzer and the Patrick Ta blush. I am neutral in tone and it’s hard finding a bronzer that doesn’t look too warm. Thank you for sharing these products!

Sunday Matinee is so like Velvet Petal. Both looks same on my arm swatches and also on my lips. I love Velvet Petal; but the bullet is very small now, so I was planning to get another velvet petal. And when I saw Sunday Matinee, I went for it

I have had my eye on Sunday Matinee but you said it is darker but would you say Sunday Matinee compliments dark green eyes, blonde hair and fair/light neutral skin tone? I am in love with Strawberry Shock, but I am having the same trouble nailing down the color haha. Sometimes it's more coral, sometimes I think it looks more red...such an interesting shade.

All the lipsticks look beautiful on you!! You really can wear a brighter lip well and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. I went to the website to buy Sunday Matinee but ended up getting Rosy Shell lucent lip formula. If I like it I'll go back and get the other. I have cool fair skin and blonde hair so shades can look even brighter on me.

All the colours look amazing on you. I tend to stick with bluey pinks/plums but decided to strike out and go for Strawberry Shock. Corals look terrible on me but this seems to work, I think there's just enough coolness in it. You also may have convinced me to try New Wave.

I've had paralysis by analysis looking at the shades for days now. Strawberry shock is stunning and would be my go-to but New Wave caught me off guard.... that is beautiful and something different! I'd never go for magenta lips but leave it to Lisa to make it more "mature" of a shade. I might pick of that one and Velvet Blush based on your previous video. I agree the descriptions are a bit much lol.

You look great in all the colors. One reason I appreciate your videos is I also don't wear pale nudes and I appreciate brighter colors on my lips, whereas a lot of CZcams content creators seem to be all about the nude lip. My favorite look is the one you have going in the video with the reds and bright pinks.
From LE's new collection I got Wonder Wheel and Sunday Matinee. I can't stop wearing Wonder Wheel! It's my summer color! I was slightly disappointed that Sunday Matinee was so warm on me and on my skin (very pale, cool-neutral, with lots of surface redness) it looks quite similar to Velvet Petal. It has a bit more depth than Velvet Petal, though.
I would like to see if you have them a comparison between Je Ne Sais Quoi and Spirited Away on the lips, Wonder Wheel and Atomic Cherry...

Yes, Look Optic sent me three frames. Unfortunately, I had cleaning moment and tossed the boxes. However, that don't have a huge selection, so easy to figure out which. Mine are readers, but I think you have also have them done for prescription as well.

Wow, all these lipstick cos look great on you. I was surprised how much I like New Wave. I don’t have anything like it. I was thinking of picking up.Strawberry Shock, but I have a very similar lipstick in that color, Flame by Tom Ford! It’s an orange-red, (HG) just like Strawberry shock. I see no pink in that one. But, looks wonderful on you!
I’m thinking of picking up,Wonder Wheel and New Wave, because they’re different. I have a lot of coral lipsticks for now, and I love coral, but need to finish up the ones I have 1st.

I've pulled all my comparisons and might shoot it today (depends on how hot it gets today!). I've never had one break on me.
Ha ha, I'm glad you said it. Everyone always says they love Lisa's poetic shade descriptions and read them out in full, but I generally find them fairly irritating. I prefer when she just talks about the colours that go into them (like "chocolatey red" or "pink with a balance of cool and warm tones") rather than all the flowery allusions that aren't particularly helpful in knowing whether they will suit you or not.
It's funny how we perceive things differently, because when I saw them at Lisa's pop up the other day I was surprised by how coral so many of them look!
So true about perception. The light we see things in can make a huge difference! And also, coral is one of the words that can mean different things to different people. Yes, it can be orange red with more orange or orange pink...I think I tend to pick up on pink hues easily. But, I think I said what I see and what what you see may be different.
The descriptions were particularly overdone this time. I'm a lover of words and there was no flow - clunky, unnecessary verbage!

No, I've never had one break on me. I do try to be careful with lipsticks.
I'm coming back to this video to see what makeup you were wearing for the swatches. I'm wanting to create a very simple look using New Wave and I'm struggling to find the right blush and eyeshadow. Whatever you were wearing in this video works perfectly, letting the lips be the star. I guess I need a cool cheek and eye, but something that doesn't have much pigment to detract from lips. Do you have any suggestions?
Are you based in the UK? I do have links in this video - it's the Patrick Ta She's so LA for the blush. The eyes I didn't link, sorry to report that I don't remember. The PT blush is very neutral, not cool, not warm so works well with different lips. It's a very useful color to have on hand!
@@TheHoodedLid Oh, I missed the links! I have that blush. I'm not in the UK. I'm in the US. I managed to do the look today and found a good champagne eye shadow that worked and I used a neutral pink blush and tapped a tiny bit of the lipstick on the apples of the cheeks. It worked well.
When you wear colors such as New Wave, do you usually pair those with a white top?
I love the unique, bold colors, but find I have a hard time finding outfits to pair with them. They seem to look 'off' unless I pair them with white.
Sometimes! I love white and gray, they are neutral colors that bring light to the face (white), or set off my skin tone (gray) nicely. Black could also work but I don't think black does anything for me at all. New Wave could work in spring with light colors and in fall with darker grays and blacks
Thanks for investing in these 7 shades, which all look great on you (the neutral face and eyes is perfect). I think that Sunday matinee and Je Ne Sais Quoi would work on me - I am attracted to Meet me in Berlin but my skin tone is lighter and cooler than yours so I have doubts. I would love to see comparisons, to help me choose. I hope to see it on a reviewer that has a skin tone closer to mine. Thank you as well for adding the short video of a happy walk with Lucy.
Have you seen KateFace’s review? She’s quite fair skinned and also gives great descriptions of the colours.

Kate’s skin tone is warmer than mine - my skin tone and natural lip colour are closer to BeautyHasBeen’s Michelle, except that I don’t have her pink cheeks (which she has revealed are the result of vascular disease). The duo has reviewed 2 of the new shades.
@@jocelynel-fab5214 Ah, that’s a shame. Yes, BeautyHasBeen is a helpful channel as they each have different colouring and lip pigmentation. Not sure if Claru Beauty or Moody Eye MAKEUP are a better match? And I planned on doing a video of them also. They all looked gorgeous on you. Do you have a favorite? Is there one you will wear everyday? She is a magician when it comes to color.

I only have one of hers that hits that "undertones really don't work" point - Velvet Muse. On me it's a drab, deadening brownie nude, nothing like any of the swatches or description!

Im sooooo confused about new wave. It looks so different from the website. I also saw another video and it looked completely different on her. I would hope it would look like this. It looks absolutely amazing on you.
Probably had to do with lighting - I use a lot of natural light where many channels use daylight rated bulbs which run much cooler.
I purchased the Je Ne Sais Quoi from her website. Unfortunately, it’s a brighter peach color on my lips - not pink - which is not good for me. I keep making this mistake - thinking I can buy via Internet. It’s funny, everything you describe as pink, I see as peachy. Hope you are happy with your picks! Enjoy your channel very much!

She does say Je Ne Said Qoui is a coral, but to me it looks like a warm pink. What matters most is what it looks like to you! Corals, like pink, run the gamut from orange/red (think coral in the ocean) to pinky orange. To me, peach (think the fruit) has a good deal of yellow in it, or orange with a good deal of white.
