Of the 14 I had previously to this launch 3 broke and have all been replaced by the brand. The customer service is A1! It was explained that due to the pigmentation of the lipstick it can be soft and prone to breaking. Which is why Lisa made sure to mention not to roll the bullet too high when applying. I use Lisa’s lipsticks almost exclusively. This launch I picked up:

I'm based in the UK and of all the lipsticks I've bought from Lisa (probably 30+) from all her launches, none of them have broken on me!

I’m in Australia and have 4 on the way to me. I’m still as excited for them as I have been for the last couple of years. I have 13 including the ones on the way and none have broken so far. I live in the USA with three Velvet lipsticks and the New Wave lipstick. None of them have broke and I have taken swatches from inside the bullet to colour match in the future. With Lisa's products, I am looking for colours and formulas that I can not find elsewhere.

They are definitely innovative! That is for sure. We can't fault them for that.
Maybe lipsticks are breaking bc people are trying them on right after getting them delivered. In the summer, I put my lipsticks in the fridge for a day after getting them in the mail. I try them on the next day.

This is exactly the problem. Whenever I get a new lipstick I fridge it for an hour or two because it's sitting somewhere on a hot truck or on my doorstep waiting for me to get home. They're melting and people are using them as soon as they open them.
I stick every lipstick package in the fridge, package and all, the minute it arrives, sometimes even overnight. It def helps.
I’m in the UK & have all of the previous Lisa lipsticks & wear them most days, but have never had a single breakage.
They are my absolute favourite & I love the Velvets for Winter & the LL for summer. The colours are divine & the quality phenomenal.
I’m recovering from an operation, so can’t get to the pop up shop in London, maybe next year 🤞
Oh & I got 6 this time, my favourites I think were Wonder Wheel & Night Thoughts…. But Strawberry Shock is heaven! Might have to give New Wave a go now…..

New wave looks really great on you. 🥰 I bought two lipsticks this launch, Le Mepris and Je ne se Quois. Never have had any break and I put them on in the car sometimes while riding in the passenger seat. I have a fairer complexion and more pigmented lips so lipsticks tend to pull deeper on me. I wear my LE lipsticks and products all of the time. I prefer the Lucents over the velvet mattes.
The Lucents, for me, are the best also. I love how I can just apply them so easily without a brush or having to take too much time. Plus I'm a tremendous klutz. Haha.

My favorite shades surprised me as well!! Meet Me in Berlin and Rosy Shell were instant faves, and I also absolutely love Sunday Matinee both at full opacity and even just patted on lightly over a liner 😍 💄

And I loved your Sunday Matinée come hither 😂 Lisa Eldridge lipsticks are still by far my favorite, though lately I’ve been more into the Lucents and glosses than the formulas that require more careful application. I’ve never had any of my lipsticks break, but I also don’t swatch them or anything? Maybe that requires more pressure than lip application? Idk. I also love Merit’s, I was going to get 1990 but Meet Me in Berlin came out just in time and is a little more what I was looking for. I also got Je Ne Sais Quoi, excited for them to arrive!
Hello Maggie! A comment below says that she thinks the formula shrinks a bit in the tube which is why some roll up broken. Makes sense because they never break during use. Just, all of a sudden, bam, broken as you open them. Must be shrinking in tube?! Hahha. Thank you for laughing with me at my come hither. I never know what to do when I pose so I just act silly.
For me Lisa’s launch days are still a sacred holiday! She never disappoints. Every single drop has the most unique colors when I don’t even think it’s possible to come up with original shades anymore. Everything about her brand is classy, innovative, high quality, sophisticated, with a nod to history. I could go on for hours lol I just can’t say enough good things about the brand. I adore her foundation and all other products as well but I am always most excited about lipsticks. I got 7 out of her new shades. The 3 I left out were only because those colors don’t look great on me or I already have something too similar. Other than that I have every lipstick she ever made and none of them have broken! It’s interesting that you say it’s mainly in the US market where there have been complaints. That is true because I’ve only heard that from American beauty influencers. I’m in Europe and no complaints so far. Her Customer Service team is second to none.

I picked up, Le Mepris and Meet Me In Berlin. I couldn’t be more pleased. I do love her formulas. I haven’t had any of my Lisa Eldridge lipsticks break. I’m always cautious to just put up enough lipstick to get it on my lips. Wonderful review. Thank you.❤️

I ordered all of the new ones, except for the red one. I'm crazy. First I ordered 6 and I liked them so much that I placed an order for the rest. I'm crazy, as I can never use my stuff more than once or twice
It's not crazy. It's fun. Honestly, it's a hobby that's actually less expensive than other people's hobbies like golf or fast cars or even knitting, frankly!

I stopped the video to go look at all the shades and my immediate picks were New Wave & Rosy Shell (maybe Rainbow Spill). I'm so glad I was able to see your try on because I'm not as impressed with Rose Shell! But love New Wave 🤩 I'm always hesitant to order lipstick in the summer, even if you put them in the fridge often they're never the same... OMG， you look amazing with the New wave. I didn't expect that shade could make people energetic. I will try it. And I'm a little bit hesitant between Strawberry Shock and Rainbow Spill. Which one do you think will not make the tooth yellow? Or in the velvet collection, which shade do you think could make the tooth brighter?
Generally any red makes teeth brighter but especially one that is on the cooler side. So new wave will definitely whiten even though that’s not a red ant any cool read so I suppose strawberry shock more so than rainbow spill. But both are beautiful and any red is gorgeous against most shades of teeth.

I love Sunday Matinee on you. Very flattering! I purchased New Wave in this launch. It doesn't look magenta on me, as I'd hoped. But it is gorgeous and I love it. (I love how magenta it looks on you.) I'm in NYC and have not had any breakage (knock wood), with any of Lisa's lipsticks. I own 17 of them. I have every Velvet lipstick, with two exceptions. I passed on Intrigue, because Fawn really washes me out. And I didn't buy Blush Lightly. I also purchased Skyscraper Rose and Rainbow Spill when they were first released. The only Luxuriously Lucent I bought was Go Lightly. None of her lipsticks have broken on me, and I wear them quite often, so I don't think the formulas are different stateside. But is great to know that if I ever have breakage problem Lisa's team will take care of it.

Hi Rebecca. Beautiful lipsticks. I shared this story on Lexi’s video. My velvet fawn lipstick broke after the first application. My heart broke with the bullet! I have to use it with a lip brush now. Unfortunately my twin boys were playing in my room and happened to reach all of my LE lipsticks on my display. They opened them all and must’ve heard me walking back to my room and closed the lids before winding them back down. I had no idea what they were up to until I decided to wear one of them a few days later and to my horror discovered all of the broken and smooshed inside the bullet. At the time I wanted to cry but now I just laugh about it 🤣
To make you feel slightly better, Julie, my daughter, WAY old enough to know better, was going through a bunch of my Charlotte lipsticks once, looking at the shades and she must have gotten distracted because she put the lid on three of them only partially rolled down and they are completely smooshed and ruined. And she is way old enough to know better. Something about lipsticks and kids do not mix!

I’m in Australia & mine arrived today!!! I ordered Je Ne Sous Quoi & Wonder Wheel from the new ones, & Kitten Mischief, Dance Card & Atomic Cherry that I’d had my eye on!! Atomic Cherry is probably my fave but I love them all & this luxuriously lucent is definitely my favourite formula. I haven’t had any break & I have 3 velvet mattes (plus 3 glosses & 6 lip liners!) I’m still excited about Lisa’s launches & I ordered as soon as they went live on her website (1am in Australia!!) thank you for this great review & the montage was even more fun than usual!! 💗💗💗

Great review on these lipsticks. I’m definitely picking up a few. Leaning towards Wonder Wheel, and Rainbow Spill. I was thinking of picking up Strawberry Shock, but I have an orange red lipstick, so not sure. Would you say Strawberry Shock is a straight up orange red? Or does it have some pink in it.

I got je nais se quoi and the red one in the luxuriously lucent shade. I was craving the lighter formula at this time. I’m excited to try them. Mine haven’t broken. the insanely saturated lipsticks are beautiful colors but the formula I find tricky to work with.
Hello Lisa, the formula on the matte CAN be drying or tough on lip lines. I agree. But the light formula is a pleasure.
Hi Rebecca! I only have one LE lipstick, Cinnabar, and it has not broken. When I watched Lisa’s video, Meet Me in Berlin and Palazzo caught my attention. I’d like to try that formula of hers, as I think I’d love it! As for matte lipsticks, I still prefer CT’s. Thank you for sharing! 😊
Hello Chrissy! I think Charlotte still has the biggest lipstick market share but Lisa has the niche market share, I should call it.
I’m in the US and own all her lipsticks so far and haven’t had any breakage! I don’t wind them up very far when I use them/swatch them. I still set an alarm for her launch because it’s fun and I have a fear that she’ll pull a Go Lightly and not bring back a shade 😂 Just got my order and excited to try them all on!

I only have 1 Lisa Eldridge lipstick and luckily it's never broken (I'm in the UK) , the meet me in Berlin looks so nice, in the bullet it looks to dark but when it's on it look beautiful 😍

I have three Velvet lipsticks currently in my collection-Ribbon, Muse, and Fawn. None have broken so far. I recently bought three Luxuriously Lucent lipsticks-Dance Card, Je Ne Sais Quoi, and Meet Me in Berlin. I get them on Friday! Yay!

Hi Rebecca! The only Lisa product I currently own is the Cinnabar liner. It stays on forever. The Palazzo looks like it would go with the liner, and I'm also thinking about the Cinnabar gloss. Now, my wish list goes on and on: Strawberry Shock and Sunday Matinee, and the Lucent Wonder Wheel, maybe Je ne sais Quoi. And Velvet Blush and Blush Lightly.....(I think "Wish List" would be a good name for a color).

Oh you know I ordered these immediately and sadly the mail decided Michigan is in BFE once again so it's still 3 days away. I don't get it. For now I'll live vicariously thru you 😂 BUT I have zero Lisa Lipsticks and ordered Rosy Shell, Skyscraper Rose, and Velvet Beauty so I could try all 3 formulas. I definitely want the shock one next. That was my favorite too! Super excited to see how these will look on fair cool skin 😁

I was so excited to see all the new colors in the luxuriously lucent formula! Although Lisa, no doubt, has the best matte bullet lipstick formula, mattes in general aren’t my favorite.

I have about 10 of her shiny and velvet lipsticks. Just placed an order on the matinee one as well as her brand new balms (sweet fig+ another one i forget the name of). Never had one of her lipsticks break.

Lisa Eldridge lipsticks (all formulas) are my absolute favs. I own about 25 or so and none of them have broken so could be temperature or user error, batch variation not sure but I have never had that issue.
Love your comment, Nelly and totally appreciate your thoughts. Yes. I think the formula is delicate. They are highly emollient and very rich in pigment and that can make them a little bit fragile. But definitely worth it.
Got Strawberry Shock and Sunday Matinee. I have all of the prior lipsticks releases except for go lightly (I think that was the name) I think it was part of a summer release and that one disappeared so fast and oddly enough it hasn’t comeback as far as I know. They made it in a gloss form and I picked it up when they released the glosses. I’m not a gloss girl so from the glosses and pencils I don’t have too many. I rarely use pencils. And about the foundation it works mixed with something like a tinted moisturizer for my dry sensitive skin.
That’s a really good idea. I think I’m gonna try mixing the foundation with something a little lighter, even a moisturizer.
I have most of her lipsticks and only one (petal) broke, but that was on holiday and it was in my bag. I have always thought it was likely the heat, but not sure. I’m in north of the Uk and so heat is rarely a problem! 😂 Visiting the pop up in a few weeks! I love her unusual colours, like Rainbow Spill and New Wave, but have to admit I probably prefer the PM formula a little bit!
So true, Anna. It's the shades here that are SO innovative and hard to resist. But I prefer the PM formula a bit more, too. My husband is from Scotland and I'm the only one applying tons of sunsceen when we visit so I entirely understand your weather.

Have you tried the PM divinyl lip shine? They are my favourite PM formula - really glossy and balmy but doesn’t move around much and has good pigment.

I am in Australia and have about 7 velvets and 2 lucent and none have broken. I haven’t bought from the new collection yet as I’ve been waiting to see more about Sunday Matinee. Most reviews I’ve seen haven’t bought that one so I’m glad to see it. I’m trying to do a lipstick “no buy” this year because last year I went crazy with LE and Pat McGrath lippies so I have enough to last a lifetime. BUT I have a credit from my exploded blush to use so that doesn’t count right?? I’m considering buying one and am interested in the saturated formula as I haven’t tried that before. I don’t really understand how it’s different to the velvets? Also do you happen to have velvet petal? is it similar to Sunday Matinee. I already have petal.

Those colours look great on you. I have a few of Lisa's lipsticks. The only one I have that's broken is Velvet Intrigue and it was my most used. I had it in my pocket and it melted. I didn't realise it was broken until I went to use it and the top of it was stuck to the lid. Her lipsticks are special and I'm excited to buy them, and due to shipping I have to make it worthwhile to place an order to hit the free shipping cap to Australia which works out to be about $180 AU dollars. I wouldn't even compare them to Rare Beauty for instance because you can go instore and just purchase one whenever you feel the need or better still wait for a sale. Thanks for reviewing Rebecca. Not rushing - i love her lipsticks and have around 7 both velvet and sheer (no breakage) but i feel i have enough lipsticks for now. She was the one high quality I bought first but since the initial hype I've come to know many other brands as well such as Givenchy.

I love New Wave on you the best! You look so beautiful wearing it🥰 I am debating to get them. What is stopping me is if I get 2 lipsticks from LE which cost £52, then I’ll need to pay CAD45 for tax and DHL processing charges! That makes these lipsticks so expensive 😑 As you said, there are so many beautiful lipsticks from different brands that I can easily get on Sephora, that seems like there is no points getting LE lipsticks for similar colours and paying ridiculous tax/extra charges🤔

I have many, mostly the velvet formula, and I've never broken a lipstick. The foundation doesn't make me itch and I have sensitive skin. I am in the US by the way.

Great color on you! I wanted that shade but realized it’s more the fantasy I love regarding those shocking, vibrant colors; I just don’t wear them when I get them. I got Meet Me in Berlin and Je Ne Sais Quois, though it’s pretty close to Dance Card, which isn’t great on me. That’s how I feel about Lisa’s lipsticks. They look far too dark or weird on me even if they look amazingly gorgeous on her or models on the site with my pale complexion. I have lots of blue in my lips as she does, and even Fawn and Intrigues are deep browns on me. Kitten Mischief is okay. Spirited Away is dark. LOVE her glosses and lip liners, blush is great but faulty package/formula, foundation a dud on my skin. I love Lisa but realize I only sort of like her products. I’d been conflating the two, and now I’m more cautious when thinking about what to buy. Sunday Matinee is still on my list. Trying to find a clear swatch comparison in good light to Petal….
Amy, you and I are two peas in a pod. I’m like that with high heels and handbags. I used to exist in 4 inch heels. Now I’m always in sneakers. But I still look at these amazing glittery super high heels and I used to still buy them until I realized that I do not wear them. A fantasy version of who I used to be wears them. And sometimes a fantasy version of who I never was! So high five I feel you on this!
I’m really excited by this release and picked up a few shades - Night Thoughts, Meet Me In Berlin, Skyscraper Rose, New Wave, Palazzo. I have 10+ LE lippies in all the different finishes and I’ve never had any breakages. It’s strange that this mainly seems to be a US issue!

Hello Rabbi! It's strange. When they break, it's like...you just open them a tad, just roll them up a tiny bit and you notice they're unsteady only to roll them up a bit more and see they are broken at the base and it's like, "When and how did THAT happen?" Strange thing with these....
I had all but 3 LE lipsticks prior to this launch, and none of them have broken on me so far (fingers crossed). I'm in the U.S. I'm certainly still running out to buy them at each launch and bought 5 more this time. These are my absolute favorites!!

Hello Rebecca! I only have two of her lip shades. They are lovely! I haven't experienced any breakage, but I haven't used them a whole lot. I didn't hop on the bandwagon when they first came out. They were very expensive and I don't like feeling pressured to pick something up, before it sells out. I find that very off putting. I'm still interested in picking up a few more shades and I'd love to try other things in her cosmetic line. I'm waiting for the foundation sample packs to come back into stock. When I choose a shade, I want it to be right.
I totally understand, Hedy. When we are spending money we do not want to feel pressured. That makes absolute sense. Then it feels like hysteria rather than a smart purchase.

Hi dear Rebecca. I had a couple of my Velvets which broke with not reason and they were replaced so kindly by EL's cusotmer service. I'm in Europe so it has nothing to do with the US market. It is a question of formula. I think they dry up fast, shrink and break. But I still love them. Hugs and kisses all the way from Paris xoxo

I have issues a bit with the saturated shades feathering. But the lucent shades wear off before they feather.

I ordered 3 (Skyscraper Rose, Strawberry Shock, and Rainbow Spill), and they are due to arrive today in Los Angeles -- I'm excited! But I also am definitely worried about the breakage issue, so I only ordered the shades that I felt were special and worth the risk -- and I'm going to be very careful when I apply them. That said, as much as I like and respect Lisa Eldridge, we wouldn't accept this breakage and quality control from other brands (especially at a luxury price point), so I'm glad that people are starting to speak up about the breakage issue. I saw Charlotte Holdcroft's video about LE's lipsticks, and I commented and asked if anyone experienced breakage after seeing Lexi's video. Charlotte kindly replied and said that hers have never broken, but a couple people replied to me saying that theirs had! One person said that 5/6 of her lip velvet and saturated lipsticks broke, and another person said that 2 had! When 5/6 of someone's lipsticks' break, you know there's a real problem, and I hope that LE is addressing it. Fortunately, it seems like her customer service team is quick to replace them -- but only if they break soon enough (the person who had 2 break said that they didn't break immediately, so she didn't get hers replaced). Thank you, as always, for a super fun and informative video! P.S. You're also making me think about getting New Wave, which I previously dismissed as too bright and purple...it looks great on you!

Pat McGrath, for instance, is a genius but her shipping is TERRIBLE. Natasha Denona is a genius but we don't hesitate to say when one of the shades doesn't perform. So we have to be able to SAY it out loud.

I ordered 4 of them, 3 from her new launch and Atomic Cherry that I had missed out on, now I own a total of 12. My Red Dragon broke, I sent them a picture after a year of having it and I hadn’t used that shade but a few times and they replaced it and then this year I had another break and I just received that one the day before her new launch, that one broke inside the cap.
@@BlingyBea I'm at least glad that you got a replacement, though sad you had to deal with breakage! Lisa's willingness to send the replacements makes it all a little less worrisome (even though they shouldn't be breaking like that in the first place). We'll just have to be extra gentle until Lisa sorts this out.

I am in Germany, I watch/ed Lexis videos. I had the problem with ribbon, at that time i didn't know i could send it back. My problem with LE's lipsticks is that are too dry on the lips, so I stopped buying them. I bought now some of the New ones from Bobbi Brown, the ones engraved, i prefer them instead of matte ones.

I am in Australia and 4 of my velvets and 1 of my insanely saturates broke! Been refunded or replaced by LE customer service. I am careful too and down apply when bullet is all the way up. However, I am sick of them breaking and it has put me off buying more those. The lucent ones are fine no breakage.

I am in Greece and I haven't bought any of the LE lipsticks because I already have so many. I never had any problem with the ones I bought from her breaking but I have heard that a lot. The only problem I had was with the blush which didn't come out after a few uses but she has an amazing Customer Care team and I was immediately refunded. What I want from her is to bring out the Velvet sweatshirts. I have the grey and had ordered the red but it got lost in the mail. Anyway, no lipstick now although the colors look beautiful xx

Lexy is my favorite swatcher on YT. I believe she is a bit rough with her lipsticks
because of the multiple swatches. She claims that breakage doesn't happen with
her other lipsticks. I do trust Lexy's honesty, and she is an amazing swatcher.
I personally own three LE velvet lipsticks and none had broken.
My only issue is that the colors are a bit different in person than the colors
depicted on her website. For example, the Cinnabar lipliner is much lighter than the
Cinnabar lipstick. Nevertheless, I do love the lipsticks and the lip pencils.
On a side note......LE's Customer Service is terrific!
Her customer service is superior to other brands. For sure. Absolutely. And I think these are delicate lipsticks that CAN break. But, yes, I think Lexi's point is valid.

Hey Maria! In AC but, also, I change into something to film. It's not my clothing for the day. I was trained in the fashion industry so there's that whole thing of wearing a dark, neutral color so that the makeup or other accessory is the stand out point. I threw on a roomy, airy tee after filming. ❤️

My obsession with Lisa Eldridge is still there and my wallet hates me for it. I have over 25 of her lipsticks and no breakage for me...I got a tip from her CS to @ first warm them up a bit by breathing on them and then after maybe 5 uses, the lipstick go pefectly with no tugging, or breaking amd no worries for me

I got two last minute during the weekend as a gift from my sister for my birthday. I hope they don’t sell out because I would love to grab more but can’t afford them right now. I saw Lexi’s video, I’m surprised because I’ve never have that breakage problem. They’re so soft so maybe the temperatures? Though I live in a very hot weather. The problem I have with the insanely saturated is that I apply too much product and end up with a weird line on my chin 🤣🤣 and since they leave a stain it’s a bit of a problem 🤣🤣🤣. I need to apply less. One swipe and done but I apply like 4 layers because I enjoy the feel of them 🤦🏼♀️😬🤣

Love all the colors on you! I grabbed five of them this time. I got Rainbow Spill (finally!), New Wave, Strawberry Shock, Night Thoughts, and Rosy Shell. I look forward to Lisa's launches so much they feel like Christmas haha. I have about 24 and I've never had one break, but I only roll it up JUST enough to apply.
I ended up being surprised how much I love Rainbow Spill and Strawberry Shock. New Wave I expected to love, and I do, but those two were a bit of a risk for me, and I love them!
I think that's why there's universal Lisa love, Rina. Those supposedly wild shades somehow just look AMAZING rather than costume!

That being said ive since purchased dragon which I love so I got sucked into strawberry shock. Ha I think I still have the mindset of ordering ASAP so im super particular on her swatches before hand, but this time because of the popup she took longer to post. Im in NY and thankfully (knock wood) haven’t had any break,usually im careful w/ lipsticks in general - temperature for makeup storage, not rolling up all the way etc. it’s also very hard to know the beating they take during travel. In any case i still love her launches , I also got Meet Me In Berlin, Night Thoughts and Le Mépris
You got SUCH gorgeous shades, Anne! I think there might be shrinkage of the product. I tend to go to use them and they're mysteriously broken. So strange. Rather than, say, breaking during use, if that makes sense.

I love Lisa (especially her highlighters), but I'm not rushing to purchase new lipsticks from her. They are pricey, and I don't find myself reaching for the LE lipsticks I currently own. Lately my faves have been the Buxom full-force plumping lipsticks and the Milani colo fetish lipsticks. I'm also waiting on one from Rare Beauty, because I love their lip souffle.
