Liverpool YNWA I know this is a dumb question but do a lot of people still listen to The Beatles there im sure there is
Hey guys, I'm going to Liverpool in a month!! What's the best cool adresses, places? Not necessary tourist kind of, (i'm staying 3 months).
Oh yes, all the time
Maks Are You still there??
Listening to songs about Liverpool from The Beatles is the only way I've felt a connection to Liverpool. I'm from America. But in some of their songs about the city made me feel the love they had for it. A feeling or memory. I wish I could visit one day. Just to stroll around and see the place. Talk to people and such. Not sure I'd go on one of those Beatles tours. Would rather explore alone or with some locals.
Liverpool Best city in the uk
Right on

A Liverpudlian is generally used for somebody from Liverpool. The term Scouser came from a dish that Norwegian sailors use to it called Labskause or something . Hence the term Scouse . Good vid lads but try pronouncing Mersey like Merzey and you've got it :-)
@sarah jones and where are you from?

I was born in Liverpool in 1994 in the Liverpool maternity hospital I wasn't raised in the city and I only just moved back in October last year but I have to say I've never felt so at home so comfortable, happy and safe as I do in Liverpool. I lived in so many different places North Wales Ellesmere Port, St Helens and I always felt like an outcast especially being a mixed race person. Even if I don't have the accent and I wasn't raised in Liverpool I feel more like a scouser than anything else. When I told my mum I was moving to Tuebrook she was apprehensive but I was getting verbally attacked on the daily when I used to live in St Helens and ever since I've moved I haven't experienced any hostile behaviour. Really think that Liverpool is such a beautiful city with amazing, culture, diversity history and architecture and it needs to be celebrated more.
Well done lad welcome home wie missed ya.SCOUSE POWER
Hi
Welcome home
I feel like Liverpool is one of them cities that aren't really that spoken about. And being from Liverpool, I have a very strong scouse accent, and I love it!!!!!!!!! I am a very proud scouser 😍😘😄😃👌🏻👍🏻
it's spoken about a Lot all over the world
where are you from? have you ever been to Liverpool? if not your the one who's deluded! do you believe the media's lies? the only way to find out about a city is to go there!
Aimee Sugg I can tell your Scouse just by your use of words.
Have some comments been deleted? looks like i'm talking to myself there!

I’m from Liverpool the way you describe our city is great 😂
Pick pocking in very rare in Liverpool..ive never seen anyone pick pocketed..so its very safe in City.
You don't know how wrong you are lmao
luna i'luna I'm not..yes it probably happens but it's not a big issue..I've worked in City centre for 35 years and never seen it or any of my friends. There is theft from shops..but no worse than any comparable City.
Never seen or heard of anybody getting pickpocketed in Liverpool in all my 34 years

You can take us away from the Mersey but you can't take the Mersey out of us...
sarah jones haha, would you like to elaborate?
@sarah jones literally one of the least racist places in the UK.
2/3rds remain voting. No ghettoisation. Long established minority communities that consider themselves scouse before anything else.
sarah jones “all uk cities outside of London are racist”
@sarah jones Liverpool is very white yes. How is that a bad thing? Racist!
I was in Liverpool the other day and I thought I had truly explored the city but I haven't been anywhere you went in this video. The city is truly big and beautiful
mini dwarfdude. I was born and raised in LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND. during numerous years, And one of the highlights was the onset of the Beatles in our City who we / I saw around our City and on occasion a performance at the "Cavern Club"... I knew and met the original "Beatles manager" personally, and even spent some time as an occasional resident at his home with both he and his wife. 😁🤐😊

Liverpool, what a city! :-)
love it
Interesting that you thought the architecture had a clean Gotham City feel to it. Liverpool was used as a filming location for the modern batman movies. St Georges Hall is used in the new Harry Potter movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
+Babywilko very interesting indeed. Didn't know about the Batman flicks. thanks for sharing!
vagabrothers please delete the negative and offensive comments
Liverpool doubles as New York a lot.
Babywilko Are you sure?- Which Batman film/s? What locations?
Liverpool actually wasn't used in any of the modern Batman films, however it was scouted in pre production for The Dark Knight but they decided to shoot in Chicago streets instead. Liverpool is the most filmed in city in the UK outside of London though and it feels like there is always something being filmed in the city.
I was born and raised in Liverpool, I lived there for the first 21 years of my life before moving to the other side of the world to New Zealand... This video makes me both proud of where I came from but also quite homesick as I haven't been home since I moved here 8 years ago. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the cities hospitality and history. I do feel like a day isn't enough though, there are so many other things to see and do - maybe next time.
Liverpool is Unique! Nowhere else like it in Europe! Not just the places the people are special! Thank You for the unbiased view!

I didn’t know people around the world love my home city so much
Guys that is my home town, I actually grew up on penny lane and went to John Lennons two schools. I love the video and appreciate it but as you said you literally scratched the surface. Thanks again 👍🏽
How can you do a video on Liverpool without its awesome cathedral? It's architecturally stunning and immense inside.
Cathedrals, St Georghes Hall, the most incredible library, one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world, the Philarmonic with the most ornate toilets in the world etc
We have two Cathedrals
Had my graduation there, and you're right!
Not only TWO cathedrals but they are both literally awesome. And I don't even believe in God.
BrianPhillip2021@gmail.com
I've always thought of Liverpool as a mini New York as they were both historically major ports, multicultural, with a strong anglo-Irish influence, very down to Earth feel and people (okay minus Manhattan), great architecture and great nightlife.
Interestingly the skyline of Liverpool from the river has been likened to the New York skyline - bit of an exaggeration, the Liverpool skyline is obviously less impressive in terms of scale, but once that was pointed out to me I completely got it.
That's why john Lennon lived there, also your park is based on a park in Birkenhead
first skyscraper Liverpool
The Chicago /NYC architecture is heavily influenced by the buildings of Liverpool.
Central park was based on Birkenhead Park. NYC and Merseyside are like brothers.
I've lived in Liverpool for 9 years and I absolutely loved this video. I always explore the city but you gave me some more places and experiences to have from this video
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
I wasn't born in the uk. Thank GOD
It’s so strange seeing my city in another perspective
i know right haha, i try to imagine myself as a tourist not a local 😂
Thanks for coming to liverpool 😃 I love it when people recognise our city
We LOVED Liverpool!
Ngl though, it's really rare for someone to be pick pocketed in Liverpool, and when it does happen, it's never the locals who do it. We would never want to pander to the negative false stereotypes of the city and it's people, so outsiders tend to do that instead, smh
Honestly you're more likely to get jumped than be a victim to any other crime in the city center. Can't tell you the amount of times I've been drinking outside a pub & had to stop gangs of scallies going after lone targets.
I totally agree that is _generally_ isn't locals who do the robbing in the city, though I have no doubt that there's plenty of smackheads who live in one of the neighboring estates.
Perhaps not pickpocketing but plenty of other crime in Liverpool. I can always remember coming back to the city after being away and noticing. as you enter the suburbs, that all of the shopfronts have steel shutters that are rolled down when the store closes. I also remember going to pick up some booze at the off licence (liquor store for non Brits). All of the goods were shelved behind a heavy glass partition and purchases had to be requested , paid for and handed over through a small glass window like the ones they have in a bank. Liverpools reputation for petty theft is well deserved and I have had first hand experience of it on several occasions.
@@grahamhodge8313 You are a massive nobhead! Nothing else I need to say
@Dominic Ambrose I mean he is speaking the truth and all... as a local, I can honestly say love it or hate it, Liverpool has the worst kids and teenagers the city has to offer. So much violence and theft going on, I even know a few people who have been killed because of it.
Living in ignorance won’t solve our problems

Love Liverpool. Took my son to Anfield last year for his 16th birthday and it was simply brilliant! The city is amazing, the people are awesome and the accent is as nuts as meh Dundee one. ❤️❤️❤️
Jackie Brown. I was born and raised in Liverpool, England, throughout my early years, teens and early twenties.
But later decided to move to Edinburgh, Scotland. with my male friend. I had lived there for 2.5 (two amd a half years)
And loved living there having met all the people that I met there too !!
I needed to move on again and the time was right for me to move back to England. This time to "Manchester," I stayed there for approximately 2.5 Years...
But then both my male friend and I moved on and decided to move to Ontario, Canada. We became married and I have loved and lived here for the past 41 years. 🥰 😁☺
It’s so cool seeing my city through a tourists eyes.

Im from the south east, but even I can agree that moving to Liverpool as a student was the best thing I've ever done, amzaing city
Correction - the Beatles didn't come from middle class neighbourhoods. Okay, Lennon did (Mossley Hill) but the others were working class lads: Speke, Garston, Dingle - not exactly leafy suburbs are they?
Americans dont really have a concept of `working class`. What we call working class, they call lower middle class.
Thanks, I was gonna say if no one else had
Actually John Lennon lived in allerton not mossley hill
Paul from allerton
John from allerton/ Woolton
Ringo dingle
None where from Garston

I agree! I've shot some great pictures of Liverpool and love making them into youtube videos.
I got so excited when I saw the Anglican cathedral, if you ever come back you need to visit St James Cemetery Gardens attached to the cathedral! So many of Liverpool's activists, poets and notable figures are buried there and the gardens and architecture are otherworldly.

Brilliant video. Very well done
Great Video and loved the series. I live in between Manchester and Liverpool. I think you visited Liverpool waterfront at the wrong time of the year. The waterfront comes to life in the summer with concerts, cruise ships, festivals, Pirates, tall ships etc. Liverpool waterfront can be quite an unforgiving place in the Winter and spring months because of the cold winds from the Irish sea. For me Liverpool can seem a bit rough around the edges on first visit but once you get to know the place it is a very welcoming city and there is always something new to discover even after visiting a hundred times. As you said Liverpool has very impressive architecture. You should have made the effort to visit the Anglican Cathedral as it is one of the most impressive buildings in the country (looks grubby from outside but the inside is incredible). Manchester too has great architecture but just less. Manchester has a lot more new types of buildings. Liverpool and Manchester both have very vibrant nightlife and should not be missed. I am surprised you never went to the Cavern club as this is very popular with tourists.A short bus/train ride from Liverpool city centre there is some top quality beaches in Formby. Wales is quite close too and this is on par with the lake district for natural beauty. Manchester is close to a wonderful national park (Peak district).Manchester has developed slightly quicker than Liverpool of late. Manchester has become more of a commercial centre. Manchester is setting it sites on becoming the London of the North (The Northern powerhouse). There has been a lot of investment in Manchester lately. It is now getting a big city feel. Liverpool has a small commercial offering in comparison; however, there is big investment in Seaforth docks just outside the city centre. The docks stretch for 13 miles and a big stretch of the docks are classed as world heritage status. Liverpool's old architecture is being brought back to life so next time you visit those old derelict building will be hotels and restaurants. This is good to see as 20-30 years ago the city was in decline. Manchester too is making the most of its heritage as shown on your videos.I prefer to visit Liverpool's over Manchester because of its vibrancy. I am sure there are lots of people who would chose Manchester. It is a close decision.
Great video!!! I wish I can visit Liverpool too soon :( Anyway, my fav song from The Beatles is While My Guitar Gently Weeps and my favorite album from them is Abbey Road :)
Absolutely amazing vid boys, and yes Liverpool is a well of awesomeness, I'm proud to be from here, thanks for sharing this wonderful place with all your followers ✌️out
About half a mile away from the liver buildings Sherlock Holmes was filmed, Captain America was also filmed, Harry Potter was filmed in the Mersey Tunnel, Fantastic Beasts was filmed outside St George's Hall and one of the fast and furious films was filmed by the town Hall. Just a couple to mention
Didn’t know that but it isn’t surprising to hear. Such cool architecture!!! Cheers!
