That bike looks way better than other XC bikes as of late and the geo is more capable as well. Well done YETI.
Huh? It looks exactly the same as 5 other xc bikes though...with almost the same geo
Most days I don’t wish I were a dentist but when I see a yeti I definitely reconsider.
Beautiful bike.
Good call Liam ditching the spandex! Lol Didn't know he had THAT many tattoos! That's dope ✌🏼
Great review Jared. XC bikes are so capable these days. I’m an enduro bro at heart, but need to try out one of these new XC race rigs…
Been waiting for this! Looks great
I need this bike so I can FLY! 🦅
What a machine!
The old asr-c was my favorite! Wore out the pivots.
Now I can carry the switchinfinitythingy in my jersey pocket! Yay!
😂
Bike looks awesome
Dream bike 🤤
No way!!!! 🤯🤯🤯
you say you would beef up the tyres what combo would you go?
i have a giant trance with a similar travel and geometry and it came with minion dhf + aggressor which tbh, was ridiculous. I swapped to teravail honcho + ehline but now looking at different tyres again.
I would go with a new Forekaster in the front and either a Forekaster or a Rekon in the rear 😁
I’m getting it
Off topic for this video but where is the comparison for rear shox. Could make multiple videos due to big 3 brands. Budget to mid level to height for fox, rock, sun rear shox. Also coil if they have them. See many for front forks but not many good comparison for rear.
Aidkane18👍👍💯
Will this bike work on Party Wave at Snow Summit?
Any bike will work on Party Wave if you party hard enough 😎
@@WorldwideCyclery 💯💯
You mentioned beef it up, will it fit aggressive 2.5” tires?
I want to know this too. Also, will it fit 900mm wide bars and a Fox 40?
@michaelmicallef668 Anything will fit 900mm bars and a Fox 40 if you try hard enough.
The max clearance is 2.4 in the rear. Which to be fair is probably all you'd want/need on a bike like this. :)
I put 2.6" rekons on this bike. Plenty of clearance. Perfect for my needs.
OK review...the ASR has not been gone for 20 years. Yeti made a 2015-2017 version of the ASR that was pretty good.
We didn't say it's been gone for 20 years, just that it's been around for that long in one form or another :)
Nice review; the ASR was discontinued in 2017, I think. Not "20 years ago".
He said it’s been “in and out of yetis lineup for 20 years”
Isn't this exactly the same as the SPECIALIZED EPIC 8? this and the epic look like twin brothers from different mothers!!!!!!!!😂
The epic is slightly longer and can be slacker. So I'd say the asr is more conservative.
As a weekend warrior, specialized made a better job making the bike more versatile and off course including the wonderful downtube compartment 👍👍👍
So SC Blurr in Yeti paint?
115 rear, 120 front, 66.5 head angle, and they call it a cross country bike, my 2019 norco fluid has 120 rear, 130 front, and a 66.5 head angle, and its called a trail bike, so I guess I'm now riding double blacks at my local bike park on a cross country bike?
Specialized EVO 8!!!!!
The linkage design is clearly different then Specialized. The frame has slightly different curves as well. They do look similar, but so do a lot of other bikes. Splitting hairs here. Definitely a much better carbon layup, and it also has a lifetime warranty. Can you say that about Specialized? Not a chance.
Frame storage, flight attendant, and check for yourself, specialized indeed does offer a lifetime warranty, cheers buddy!
Epic Evo! Or Epic 8
Your point?
Honest question, why do people care so much about other people wearing spandex?
Not sure to be honest. Maybe they are embarrassed to be seen with someone who looks like they could be spiderman. Either way, wear whatever you like :) Another honest question: Is your username perhaps related to the King of the Hill episode where Hank pretends to be Mr. Big?
@@WorldwideCyclery It originally wasn't, but it is now!
Why is this Yeti only 110 rear travel? Would like to hear why Yeti didn't join the progressive trend to go 120 rear.
Other than the fact that they already have the SB 120, but that's a different beast (a trail bike)
It’s 115mm rear :)
@@liamwoods5353 Important correction. Thanks! Is the SB 120 now redundant in Yeti's line up? 120 mm travel occupies a middle ground between the new Yeti XC bike with 115mm rear travel and the SB 135. It's also a boat anchor by comparision. Why not just use the same frame as the XC and then spec it differently like the Spark RC and the Spark 900 or the Epic 8 and Epic Evo?
@@richcole3931 I think sb120 fits lightweight trail category and the rear suspension works much differently with the Si link. Having ridden both, on trail they feel very different. ASR is light and efficient, 120 can be ridden hard and put a 140mm fork in it and it really is an efficient trail bike. And yea, 3-4lbs different in weight of frame and fork.
Isn’t this just a rebranded specialized epic evo?
Nice machine. What a shame it does not have internal storage :(
Why does it look like santa cruz blur?
Yeti has rear travel at 110 mm, not 115.
It’s 115mm :)
That frame looks like Specialized Epic.
Looks Like a SC blur. 🤔
Baggies joke is so old and bro-y. I could care less what garments people wear. Appreciate the initial ride impressions though!
Huh, weird. Yeti finally made a really expensive carbon bike. Finally that market gap is filled.
Oh look, another $10,000 bike. Nope
