- Saw X is a 2023 American horror film directed and edited by Kevin Greutert and written by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. The film is the tenth installment in the Saw film series, that serves as both a direct sequel to Saw (2004) and a prequel to Saw II (2005). Starring Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith reprising their roles from the previous films, with Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Renata Vaca, and Michael Beach, it is set between the events of the first two films, John Kramer (Bell) travels to Mexico in hopes that an experimental procedure may cure him, later discovering a scam within the operation. As retribution, he kidnaps those responsible and subjects them to his trademark death traps.
A tenth installment was reported to be in development with Twisted Pictures in April 2021, when Stolberg and Goldfinger, writers for the previous two entries of the series, announced they had completed the script in December 2021. Greutert, who had directed two other installments of the series and edited six, was also confirmed as the film's director. Filming took place from October 2022 to February 2023 in Mexico City.
Saw X was theatrically released by Lionsgate Films on September 29, 2023. It has grossed over $74 million worldwide and received positive reviews from critics, becoming the best-reviewed Saw film, with particular praise towards Bell's performance. - Hudba

The best thing about the saw franchise is that even though it is 10 movies now... The writers, producers and directors do a damn good job at keeping the viewers interested to keep watching and really outdo themselves with each movie
Who knew the 10th installment in this franchise would be the best one? I was so surprised.
Man it's freaking crazy how much everyone loves this movie. This must be a first in franchise history for a series running this long to get the best praise of all of them.
@@brandonmcduff it’s unbelievable honestly. I’ve already digitally preordered it. And will probably get its 4K physical release to compete my Saw collection. It was great.
I think that can happen when a franchise has had a few (or more than a few) misfire movies and they spent some time to reflect and finally come up with something good. Like Prey. I actually would prefer this approach, them taking their time to reflect and actually craft something of good quality rather than pumping out shitty movies like a production line.
Saw 3d was rushed due to not being renewed by the box office so had to cram saw 7 and 8 plot in one movie hence why it was bad. The others after shouldn't have been made. This film is okay but some things don't work especially the deaths of valentina and mateo. It was better than expected but not as good as the first 3 films.

What does that mean?
This all explains why Amanda made inescapable traps. People like Cecilia are not worth saving. Johns methods did not work as Gabriela won her game and she still died anyway. In a way Amanda saw herself in Gabriella and even tried to help by delaying her game and explaining specifically what had to be done.
Well if she hadn’t delayed her game she would’ve lived.. she would’ve been taken to the hospital ..
Cecilia was such a good villian.
Even though Gabriela’s death is tragic it served a purpose since it’s what confirmed to Amanda that these people aren’t worth saving people like Cecilia so that’s why Amanda becomes a full blown murderer with her trap designs being inescapable Amanda related so much to Gabriella that she defended her to John regarding her actions since she was an addict as well so when Gabriella passed her test you can see Amanda was glad and of course we saw how pissed she was when Gabriella was straight up killed by Cecilia We’re gonna have to see what happens next since Cecilia is still alive and they’re planning on using her in the sequel my guess is Cecilia is gonna pass her test but Amanda still angry over Gabriela’s death is gonna put Cecilia in her 1st inescapable trap punishing her and solidifying her belief that these people ain’t worth saving

We had more of Kramer than in any other movie
Probably more than any other movie combined.
I like how those cuffs are attached to a climbing hook, while after breaking your ankle might hurt, you can pull your self up and unattach it. I also prob would have hauled ass out of the country instead of getting the money.
I can see that, but there is on e flaw. That Gabriella possibly wouldn't have the strength to climb the chain after breaking her ankle. She's still being bombared with radiation, used her strength to free her foot which is now properly f*cked up. And it makes climbing impractical. It would have been easier to break her wrist from the start and potentially avoid the radiation altogether. At least then breaking her ankle uses far less effort and wastes less time.
Though I do like the possibility of being able to potentially do that! (Climbing and unhooking the chains.)
Edit to add: I would have done the same and leave the country than take the money too.
I got peeved when Gabriela got killed despite she won her game. If John Kramer can predict 10 steps ahead like this, then did he predict Gabriela's death and Amanda's heart being broken like that? My biggest complaint, was that happening and the weird twist. I was kinda hoping Gabriela would end up saving Amanda at the end and I was even more peeved when that blonde POS ended up winning. She tried to kill a child. People like that won't change. Definitely the weakest Act III out of all the Saw movies and just very disappointing. The best part about this movie imo is the mid credit's scene with Mark Hoffman. Definitely very unsatisfied with this and I know they could of made a better movie than this.
You're complaining a villain won... in a Saw movie? That happened in every installment, except Saw 3D.
I would not call this a victory. This kill on Gabriela is what helped me be convinced on Amanda’s mindset in saw 3 being that most of the people don’t deserve saving. And the blonde POS is now stuck in that box until someone comes rescue her but who is. Anyone she cared for is dead murdered literally by her, the place she is at is abandoned and too far for anyone to care like the kid was only there to practice football. She is doomed to die there, with a slow painful death over a few days instead of a quick one she gave to her lover. This movie helped cement the mindset of each character in saw and why it had come so, I think this movie is top 3 out of the series being narrowly beaten by 6
I can't say whether or not he predicted Gabriela would be killed. I think it mostly happened to cement Amanda's mindset in previous movies that people can't be changed.
He might have thought Gabriela would be left for dead. He talked everything over with Amanda and they both seemed shocked it happened. The plan might have been for them to call the police to the location to get them help after the games were over.

Without connected Amanda felt to Gabriella because of their similar circumstances there is no doubt in my mind she would have raised complaints if she knew she was going to die. ( hell she wanted to spare her from the traps entirely and that was when they were talking with each other in private)
John probably thought that they would have just left her for dead and since they had a plan to easily escape from their restrictions, they probably had plans to take Gabriella to the hospital when those two got trapped in the box they did not actually think that she would actually be brutal enough to kill her.

Her surviving just gave us more possible sequels to X.
The dynamic between her and John and Amanda is a very interesting conflict that would build an other film or two.

They were all in on scamming people out of money and pretending to cure them of their. They even say the number of how many people they screwed over (it’s a lot),
Gabriela was the most pitiful of them all but she was not only innocent she was using the money to feed her drug addiction.
Nah the victims in this game are terrible people. I mean I am not saying what John doing is okay. But these people are sick. Who promises 32 people, dying of cancer that they can be cured, taking their savings, and take away the one thing they had left? Usually I want the victims in saw movies to escape, but fuck these people.
