For those of you with this problem, instead of replacing the door cable I just ziptied the cable so it was constantly being pulled. Slightly more ghetto than what these gents showed but so far has gotten the job done for me.
Thanks for sharing! Both my back doors failed in a 2 month span, and I was really trying to avoid taking the whole lock assembly out and re-doing the rivets. Glad to see the cables can be switched with s little patience!
@@ThezNutzGarage I should have also pointed out that watching your video gives all the information a person needs to complete the job and that is valuable. Not everyone shows all the work or explains all the options. Thanks!
Good job guys.. thanks.. Hadn't seen how the bottom one is replaced before, so glad to have seen that. Agreed with your doing the entire cable, not just the end clips. Surprised the aftermarket guys, didn't use the metal pieces instead of using the plastic again, but, guessing if it lasted 20 years!!! Pretty sure I won't have it for the next 20... 😊 Thanks again..
I have the same problem with mine on both doors. But the opposite. The cable that runs to the bottom latch is broken off on both rear doors. Which i own ford F450 same setup that you fixed. The point is i cant open up those doors. To drill out the latch to replace it. Meaning i would have to replace the whole setup. What i might have to get a metal cutting saw, cut through the door at the bottom above the latch and on the side. Just to open the dam doors. And replace both rear doors. IDK if thats the best way todo it. Right now im screwed. Can you please give me an advise what todo? Like to get my doors open. Your smart man about do the job once and do it right. Thats what i want todo. But this job is going to be alil difficult todo.
my problem is the door will open no problem, close the door and it latches but there is about 1 inch of play / so it is not a tight fit and it rubs against the body making a bumping rubbing noise ?
Umm men in the chat I'm trying to do my own repairs and umm what do I do if I ripped the cable out that he used to open the door....I pulled a little to hard
Thank you, me and Pop. I have been trying to fix that, but when I disconnected the bottom cable, it came completely out, so that's the root of our problem. Do you have any website recommendations for that part that I guess holds the cable or would just come with the Whole assembly?
Thank you for the video guys I have a question? How do you call that part inside the truck on the roof.. the one right there Over your head.. is the part where the ³/⁴ door locks.. I need this parts but I don't know how they call it.. can you please tell me how they call it
Watch Fixpro256 or Our Channel, they show how to get the doors open in different situations. Thanx for your video, it helps to actually do the repair, not just get the doors open. Nice job, snd nice to see father and son joke around and tease each other in good humor. Family is the most important thing to keep in good repair!
It's content creators like you fellas that make CZcams such a good platform. Thank you for your videos, underapprecoated diamonds in the rough.
Thank you very much!
Great video . Got it open !! now to order the aluminum thing.
Just what I needed. Thank you!
That is an excellent video. Nice job guys.

Thanks so much for the great video! So clear and helpful. Just fixed my 2000 f350 driver side rear door using the video. Thanks again!
Never mind, I saw! Thanks guys!

Thanks for this video! I have been looking for a video on how to fix my door on my 99 f250 for years! So happy!
It’s a really easy fix. Good luck.
I don't speak English very well but it helps me a lot just watching the video thanks my friends ✌️🇲🇽
Damn good video, just spent $740 to have both doors done on my 2000 7.3. Going to order parts and try to do my other 7.3 myself!
I did my other 7.3. Proud of myself! All for probably $100 or so....crazy!
Great vid! I was finally able to get my back door open. Now I have to order parts to repair it...
Glad to help. Have a blessed day.
Fantastic video, really well done. I am ordering parts now. Thank you!
Thank you for watching. Have a blessed day.
Great video. U didnot cover the top latch assembly. I had to got a vice and pry it open...all is well and am very happy. Thanks so much
You guys are hilarious! Very entertaining but, you sure did make that a hard job - harder than it needed to be anyway.
Entertainment factor.

Used your video worked great. Used glad press and seal to replace vapor barrier. Ford dealer left it off when they fixed it.
Press and seal that’s a great hack.
Can you send link for cable assemblies. Thanx! Great video.

Have you watch the video on the f250 I made? I show how to open and replace bottom cables
You didn’t show where you got the cable assemblies from. Your link is just for end replacements. Thanks. Good video!
I have a second video on how to get to the doors open.
A Real Ass-kick lesson, thanks --- and buy the way the Zip-Ties really worked but only for a couple months
uple months
Thanks.
Thanks helped out a lot !
You’re very welcome.

sounds like door hinges
My upper cable was broken at the top latch. Took forever to get top latch open.
Thanks
No problem
Yea but how do I put the other one in? Do I pull the top latch up through the door?
Umm men in the chat I'm trying to do my own repairs and umm what do I do if I ripped the cable out that he used to open the door....I pulled a little to hard
Well it becomes more difficult and I have several comments where this has happened. I need to find another truck to show how to get it open.
“How to kinda fix it”💀

Let me rewatch this video to see what your referring to.
@@ThezNutzGarage ok brother and thank you for your help take care
I think it is the upper locking mechanism and cable. They do sell it made together.

How I open the bottom latch when the wire came out
A flash light and a lot of feeling around.
My bottom cable popped off while the door is closed, I can’t get the door open to take off the mechanism. Any suggestions?
I guess I need to make a video on how to open the door when the cables break. I now need a truck to work on.

Door latch cables
Damn ya all are too cute!
Well thank you!

Thanks for watching!
