- Jan Blachowicz vs Glover Teixeira ended in a shocking fashion where Glover was able to pressure his way to a finish. How did Glover get the takedown? Why was Jan retreating so much? What does this mean for the weight class?

Glover has revamped his career since he went back to his wrestling!!! A lot of people don’t know that Glover wrestled for the Brazilian national team that’s how he set up beautiful takedowns on people like Bader, Rampage, and many more!!! Glover has great takedowns and great grappling with mixing up his BJJ submissions!! His ground and pound is brutal too!!! If Glover sticks with his wrestling and BJJ game plan he can rack up some title defenses!! He needs to go out and takedown Jiri right away and use those heavy hips and pressure!!

Alex Gustafsson beat both these guys. Now he’s not even a light heavyweight and these guys have both been champ. Crazy how this sport goes

@@jf2849 he beat jones in that first fight 100% shit was rigged af, they wouldn't let Jones lose, the ufc still protects him
I feel like this isn't giving Glover enough credit. He pressured Jan with the threat of his power, and hurt him with his left hook. The threat of the takedown also played a factor in Jan's indecisiveness. Jan didn't fail, Glover succeeded.
@stopcensorship you’re obviously clueless to how good Glover is. The minute Jan starts changing positions he’s getting knocked out or choked out. Glovers just as big as Jan, Jan doesn’t have the size advantage in this fight..
Jan actually admitted in his post fight interview that he wasn't uncomfortable with the position and that he would go to work in the next round. He has done this before such as when he fought Gus.
Bro this is weasel worst breakdown I’ve seen. Even his breakdown before the fight was garbage. He obviously doesn’t like Glover. Glover hurt Jans neck in the first round, it’s most likely the reason Jan tapped so fast.
Glover also hits like a truck, I’d say he’s probably as powerful as Jan. And he could take Santos best shots and still win.

It was a dominant performance. Shocking to be honest! When he picked up Jan and slammed him on the mat, it blew my mind. The difference in grappling was apparent and I think after the first round Jan was scared of the grappling. Once a grappler is feared, his hands and standup become dangerous.
@@Ar1AnX1x looked exhausted
I think it's also proof that 205 is pretty weak on wrestling/grappling with everyone really being a striker more than anything. Once Jones left, the top wrestler/grappler was Glover and he naturally made his way to the top.

I feel like even though Glover is the 2nd oldest to ever win the title, not even Randy Couture's championship win can overshadow how great this win was. You have to take into consideration what generation Glover won it in, the fact he's now on a 6 fight win streak, and the fact that Glover is plenty capable to keep racking up defenses and further break the record. I believe and understand everything this man said now at the press conference, and no more can you or will you doubt the greatness of Glover as a fighter or a man. He's THE man.

When I saw how easy Teixeira took Down Blachowicz, I knew Teixeira got a great chance to win because that was his small chance. You need to KO Teixeira in order to beat him, but if you can't stop his take downs, he's going to destroy you, and Jan Fail 100% in that.
My money was on Jan and i was sweating bullet when i saw him not get up. Odds maker to it was almost even at the end of round 1
That's why when people, both analysts and couch experts alike, gave the old man little to no chance (in the betting odds), I thought it's a bit weird. This might be your best breakdown I've seen.
You have to remember that Jan has lost a lot of fights in his career, its not like he been a dominate fighter and then was champ. Sometimes for what ever reason he just doesn't turn up.
He was on a good run and its only now that he had a bad night at the office. Still, Jan's career has been a great one winning the belt at his age and being the first man beat Israel Adesanya (which gave Jan notoriety and respect). Jan and Glover deserve to be inducted into the UFC HOF.
This is a great point. The marketing team did well at making people believe be was.
@@jdinn32 Jan was on a 5 fight win streak and he finished most of them it had nothing to do with marketing lol
@@silcoxjakob Very fair and smart point. My original comment I think came more from the internal idea that they can make anyone seem invincible. He was the first guy marketed at the "Trains all 3 categories of the sport from birth" guy. When I first saw him I was sure he was the greatest fighter to ever live. Izzy admitted that Jan made him "question" his offense, in the sense that where he'd normally just throw or defend, Jan would make him think about the right time to throw.
