Project Lookout Press Conference

Investigators with the York Regional Police - Guns, Gangs, and Drug Enforcement Unit, and their joint-forces operation partners, have made 20 arrests and dismantled a large-scale gun and drug trafficking network operating within York Region.
In April 2023, police began investigating members and associates of a street gang known as the Haywan Gang. The gang was believed to be involved in the trafficking of firearms and drugs into the southern part of York Region. A joint-forces operation (JFO) dubbed Project Lookout was launched to investigate and target those involved with this criminal gang.
The JFO included investigators from York Regional Police, the Toronto Police Service, Peel Regional
Police, the Ontario Provincial Police, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC). The successful completion of this lengthy joint-forces investigation was made possible with support from the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO), funded by the Ontario Government and Ministry of the Solicitor General.
As the operation evolved, investigators identified suspects that were supplying members and associates of the Haywan Gang with firearms and high-quality cocaine, being primarily trafficked in the City of Vaughan.
Project Lookout concluded on June 5, 2024. Search warrants were executed at 33 locations across the Greater Toronto Area. The 14-month investigation resulted in 20 persons arrested and nearly 300
charges laid. Investigators seized 18 firearms, 19.8 kilograms of cocaine, 4.8 kilograms of cannabis and a quantity of MDMA, Xanax pills and oxycodone pills. Total street value of the seized drugs is more than $2.5 million.
Investigators also seized $244,335 in Canadian currency, four vehicles and luxury watches valued at
$255,000 as proceeds of crime.

I love YRP always a professional Police Force. Thank you for Operating in such a Capacity, bad guys think they're so smart until Police get wind of it. Unfortunately these suspects might be out on bail already, that's just the unfortunate part.
