A whole year later and we haven't gotten that toothpaste review, can't believe Mark would promise such an important review but never deliver. Smh
1 more year later now, and still no toothpaste review 😢
Tbh its probably not safe. Theres a reason why your not supposed to eat or drink anything until 30 minutes after you put mouthwash/ toothpaste in your mouth, and why you're only supposed to use a tiny amount per brushing. Theres alot of chemicals in our mouth products that are relatively harmless in a tiny dose once or twice a day, but can cause long term poisoning from overdosing.

@@CliptoSparkles_2how has this bot comment been here a whole year?
It might be because the syrup wasn't concentrated enough. Or they were banking on not concentrating it that much to make the calories and sugar per serving to drop... Because if you've ever tried pure raw maple syrup you'd notice it's mostly water and less sugar.
@@nokinirus I think you are talking about maple sap. It is about 40 times less concentrated than maple syrup. There is also an intermediate between syrup and raw sugar that usually consumed by pouring it in strips on snow. When it cools down, it becomes a chewy sticky strip one can collect on a stick.

I know this is a year old but Mark, the flavour differences mainly come from when in the season it was colleced. I think earlier in the season, it's a lighter taste, but later in the season, it's a rich mapley flavour
Its alot in the boiling process too
Most commercial maple syrup products are made with a propane boiler and reverse osmosis which takes some of the flavor out. To get the authentic experience you need to visit a farm to get woodfire boiled syrup
It's like any other sugar, the longer you cook it, the darker it will be, the more robust flavor it will have

Plus different trees have different colors and tastes from soil and the amount of the year that is warm enough for leaves. And weird fact the more tortured and harsher the environment the better the syrup.

Hey Mark, Canadian here! The reason the colours and tastes are different has to do with when the sap was harvested; if it was early, mid season, or near the end. There are different “levels” or types; if you go to some of the family owned businesses or farms where they make it, they sometimes have testers that show how the taste changes due to the progression of the season. It’s pretty neat!

Also, time in the pan (cooking).
I go to the sugar shack in Ontario and i watch it being made every year! You also get some for free! It’s great.

Hi, I'm canadian (and from quebec too, which gives us an edge on maple syrup things), I'd like to give my humble Quebecer's opinion about Maple Syrup.
1: The canned syrup you pulled at the end IS the superior syrup. There's no comparison. It's been around forever and it's like the OG
2: When your syrup is watery, its not 100% syrup. Real syrup is gooey. Lots of brands water it down and add sugar cause it costs less in production (there's kind of a limited amount of real Maple Syrup so we keep the best and send the cut-down, sugary shit elsewhere hehe)
3: President's choice is our house brand (like Kirkland for Costco I guess, idk) so its usually lower quality (but still ight for most of the products)

A big difference in mapple syrup is the water evaporation step. What comes out of the tree is maple water, then you boil it to make it into syrup. The more you boil it, the darker, sugary and strong it gets.
huh... I thought the different type of trees (I know there's like 3 types: black, red and sugar maple trees) you can get the edible sap from made a difference with the taste like how flowers can make a difference with how honey would taste
Does that mean if you buy maple syrup and boil it, it gets stronger?
@@andrekane4088 XD asking the big questions here.
who needs this kind of power
@@andrekane4088 If you boil it enough then refrigerate like fudge you get maple candy. If you whip what you get from boiling, you get maple cream. They're thick, smooth, and viscous. And I love it more than normal maple syrup.
For everyone who hasn't made maple syrup - the colour and taste depends on when you are able to tap the trees - the earlier in the process the more light it is, and later in the season it gets darker! It's just nature :)
Thanks for that! That's actually really interesting!
