    I could not figure out why my stair nose was lining up at the 22.5 mark on each side with so much overlap at the bottom of each piece. This trick with the 2x4 fixed it perfectly. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

    Would the stock 24-tooth Carbide-Tipped blade on my Ryobi miter saw work for this type of job?

      I would be afraid to try it, do you wanna have about 60 teeth so it does not grab the metal and cause damage
