People like the scammers make me really grateful for the way I chose to go about my situation when I was homeless after an abusive relationship. I hide it for as long as I could from my family cause I was embarrassed. But while homeless I would take any odd job I knew I could do safely and reliably, there were times I'd work just to have a meal and a place to sleep or a hot shower. I hated accepting other people's money unless I felt I had actually done something to earn it, and even then I would never let them give me more than what I felt was right usually 5 bucks here and there, just enough to keep me alive till the next job. I'm honestly still like that, I hate feeling like I'm just burdening others, if I really need something I'll earn it one way or another.

I’m not saying THIS woman isn’t scamming, but if you have a sick child you’re gonna do whatever it takes to make sure they’re taken care of. I live in Ohio and we have several families that sit on the curb outside the Walmart parking lot and put up signs 'claiming that they are starving and have no jobs'.
Yet the dad has a fresh haircut, clean clothes, big belly, and the kids are doing just fine.
A lot of the time, people scamming on the side of the street make over $100,000 with everything added up; including government benefits.

I hate seeing people take advantage because there are people who can only rely on panhandling to get the basic necessities until they get back on their feet. I cried the first time i had to panhandle and cried the first person to help and even tried giving him most of it back except what i needed. He refused and said something made me stop, something made him give and he was grateful to help. Mind you i sat in the pouring rain for almost 3 hours with no one stopping. I finally went to leave and he stopped. Ill forever be grateful to him! These people make me sick to my stomach trying to play on people's kindness to get money. Its absolutely shameful

So I had no idea that was a thing. Awhile back I see this guy appeared to be Hispanic (which there are very few Hispanic homeless in my city)in his 20’s playing a violin. I parked a few spots away and listened for a few mins and I thought he was amazing he had young woman with him with a sign with the typical spiel on it. I had a few ones so I walked over he saw the money and when I handed it to him he said thank you and bless you all that good stuff in good English. I asked if he had a job and if he wanted a job and suddenly “no habla” with that stupid smile they always give. It still didn’t click then a few months later I was telling someone about him and they informed me of the scam and I watched some vids of them getting exposed. It’s crazy they will put in that much effort to beg but not a damn job
