Almost 90k views and only 160 likes? People are so ridiculous! This is good info, the least you could do is give the video a thumbs up! And what's with the 60 some dislikes? Anonymity brings out the worst in people ffs! Anyway, thanks for the video and info!
I've been looking for exactly this kind of video with straightforward, step-by-step directions for removing the nose on a staircase that's closed on *both* sides for like 6 months with no luck and finally this dumb CZcams algorithm gave me yours, a God-send 🙌🙌 tysm for uploading!
Thank you for showing this. We are remodeling our house, and I told the woman we needed to cut the nose off to put the hardwood on. She was very upset and was not sure if that was a necessary step. 2 second search and she watched your video; I was putting the blade in the jig saw before it was over.
A flush cut jigsaw blade will finish cutting the edges that the circular saw can't reach, and it will do a good, clean job of it without damaging the wall. It's also a good idea to screw a scrap piece of 1x4 to the tread as a fence to guide your saw. That makes it easy, stress free, and accurate. It prevents mistakes that can cost a LOT of time to fix.

What would happen if someone just did a shit job at cutting the nose before putting the hardwood on?

Those pvc risers are gonna be bad about peeling.
Why can't you just remove them, from video you can see they're just nailed to steps, no need to cut.
