- Electric Exhaust Cutout Installation | 2019 Silverado. In this video, I go over the process of installing an electric cutout on a 2019 Silverado. If you’re thinking about getting an exhaust upgrade on your new truck then consider this. I am happy with the results and leave it open most of the time except for the morning cold starts. Below you can get the cutout and some of the items I used or suggested.
This Electric Cutout: amzn.to/3H5LWAg
4.5inch Tip: amzn.to/39HdBoC
Single Bolt Band Clamp: amzn.to/3cHVOj7
An alternative cutout with a different design.
QTP Electric Cutout: amzn.to/33atK3f - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Love it. I would love to open it up once in awhile but at times I just don't want to hear it. Great idea!
Sounds awesome
I have the same exact one in my truck and it so good
I love it, the kids really like it too
I opted for the double valve bypass.
Can't wait to get it installed.
I left the factory quiet exhaust alone for stealth.
Good stuff, share once you get it done.
Great video
Thank You
that gave me a big smile
Till this day it still gives me a smile, it is working 100% still and love it.
I went with the stainless steel LAP JOINT 3" clamps for my '18 silverado 1500 .
The pipes on the truck are 2.75" but the bypass valve is 3".
The lap joint clamps have a reduction already built into them.
Can you post a link
do you need the little black box for it to close and open?
What kind of Manual one? I’m not good at the wiring
What is the brand and name of that turbo gasket?
Would it void warranty
It sounds a lot better if you install a shift kit on the transmission
Very nice appreciated
Hey, awesome video! :) Got all the parts I need, except the gasket? What type of gasket was that?
Thank you, the gasket is Fel-Pro Gasket Material Pro-Ramic 101
I bought the same 3" Exhaust cutout, my chevy pipe is 2.75 as well. What size band clamp do I buy? Truck sounds good just like a Muffler delete. Thanks man
Hi there, you try the same one I used in the link in the description.
Hey is this a 2.7l turbo or rather will this cut out make a good sound on a 2.7l?
Nice video... good job! I wonder if there is an application for a C4 95 Vette?
Thank you, I am not familiar with how much space there is under a c4. But most likely there is space to put a cutout.
@@Streetzlegend OK Thanks!
I have fliwmasters how would it sound with this included? Hmm I wonder if it sound as good?
It would probably sound louder than your flow masters.
Did welding the tip to cutout affect the motor(valve) I want to do the same thing just worried welding it so close might burn motor. I’m sure spot welding should be fine. Has welding it affected yours?
No not at all, if youre too worried you can remove the motor while you weld, it's easy. You can tack weld around then let cool and do final beads.
Man, great video. I have a 2019 trail boss with a flow master 40 aftermarket. Do you happen to live in NY? Lol I would definitely pay to do the same mods! Or does anyone know where i can get this type of mod done in NYC?
Thanks man. Fortunately(to cold) I do not live in NY I am on the opposite side now the country to the south. This mod can be easily done by any shop honestly.
You don't get CO in the cabin when sitting at lights? There's a reason that the exhaust should exit at the back of the vehicle.
I see you installed in March, is it still working?
Yep it works great still I switch it open and close everytime I drive it.
Do you think this increases power at all? In a perfect world exiting the exhaust fumes quicker one would think that would be beneficial. Have you dynoed it? I hear the only way these help to actually increase hp is if the truck/car is already upgraded with performance exhaust/headers etc.
Yeahhhh idk man. If you already have a cold air intake and such maybe a little but probably unnoticeable off dyno.
Now. Whether or not the sound of the new exhaust has a placebo effect and makes you drive like a maniac.. that’s a different story. Definitely an awesome upgrade regardless. When you get pulled over for a loud exhaust you just switch this off and bam. Quiet
Do you know they have a wireless model?
This is a wireless model, you only need to run power to it, the activation is via a remote.
I like to duct tape stuff.
Does it sound stock when closed?
Yes it does
Do you think the tip on the exhaust cut out makes it louder then it would sound without it?
Yes the tip affects the final tone, its a thick wall so it gives it a rich deep tone. If you leave a thin wall outlets it gives a raspier tone. Volume not so sure but the tone itself is affected
@@Streetzlegend got it, thanks
3" or 2.5" diameter cut out? Looks like you had a lot of play between stock and the cut out pipe.
The cutout piping is 3in but the trucks piping is slightly less. This is why I added the gasket to not have a gap and seal better.
1:36
Did you have any problems with engine light
No, this mod does not affect any sensors, it is after the catalytic.
@@Streetzlegend ok thats good how much was the electric cutout
What size motor do you have?
It's the 5.3
Just to clarify you used the 3" cut out correct? The Tahoe/Silverados have a 2.75" hence the reason you used the gasket right?
Yeah I used 3inch then cut a few lines on the lip help reduce to grab around the gasket and stock pipe.
Great thanks! By the way, I just realized at the end of the video you’re on 87th Ave coming out of Blackpoint 😂
@dariomendoza8318 you're welcome. it was filmed in a closed course in Mexico sir! 😃
😂
Does it void fctory warranty?
I take the warranty seriously yet I still did this, in my opinion, it does not, it does not affect the truck in anyway that would void warranty. If a failure occurs and its because of the cutout then that will void it but that is not possible as it is after the engine and still includes the catalytic.
to void a warranty it has to be proven that the modified part was the cause of the problem. but if your exhaust is modified and you’re having problems with your radio, they have to fix it. Additionally exhaust mods are pretty safe as they are behind the engine.
What brand it’s it and how much you pay for it ?
It’s black horse racing 3” cutout and it’s like 60$ on eBay
Any check engine lights?
None at all since its after all sensors.
Awesome thanks for the help
Sounds like my 1998 Silverado when the muffler was removed
It's basically the same thing.
Do you think it’s waterproof?
I'd say so. It's well sealed and it's meant for harsh conditions. I love in south florida and rain and water is a normal occurence, I have had no issues.
Streetzlegend true, is cause i take my 2016 silverado offroading, and i take it into a river, so idk if it can handle that
@@LuisHernandez-fm9pb If it were me, I would use it in your situation, its cheap enough to get another if there's an issue.
Lol with electrical taped wires? 😅
Isn't dumping all that exhaust under the truck a safty issue? Or only if you're idleing for a long time?
Safety issue in what sense? If you're referring to exhaust getting in the cabin, I dont feel it's an issue at all. I would have smelled it by now, even then the pipe shoots it towards the back passed the cabin.
@@Streetzlegend Idk man I've just heard of guys getting carbon monoxide poisoning cuz they just let it dump under the truck
@@Nate-my7je it's a valid point but I dont see it being the case here. I have not heard that before honestly, I drove around for years with an exhaust right below my seat, and in a truck with all the space it's fine man.
Dumping all that exhaust under a car that has poor insulation would really be bad and leak into the cabin.
Any updates?
Still working flawlessly
Is that cutoff
Waterproof?
I have had it since the creation of the video and have been through all the storms and floods in miami, still works like day one.
Didn't do much.
Its the litterbox you have to get rid off.
Say what now?
Does it create back pressure and ruin the engine ?
It does not create back pressure, it is the opposite. You are venting out exhaust before or passes through the muffler which does have resistance and generate back pressure. This does not hurt the engine in anyway.
Waste of time. The finish look was crooked as Flip!. Get the corsa sport or the corsa DB you'll be impressed.
Not a waste of time at all, a waste would be getting a permanent exhaust welded and be stuck with one sound. I love the cutout, sounds amazing when open, a lot of people ask me what so I have because they love it too. I also get to leave the house quietly in the mornings then opening her up once on the road. Best mod iv done on the truck and other car.
Mans really put a cutout in after the muffler...smh
You must be looking at the video upside down, the cutout is before the muffler, after the muffler would provide zero to no sound change.
