Here is a track visit of this turbo vq30 4th Gen Maxima. Boost range was around 14-16psi, the time slips are at the end of the video. This motor has over 200k miles and experienced head gasket leak symptoms after the first run which was the best trap speed of 122. The following runs showed lower trap speeds despite tune and boost improvements. It was still able to run 12.5!

I would recommend to get the cutout that has a valve on both pipes other wise it’s pointless to have exhaust pipe always open

You don't get CO in the cabin when sitting at lights? There's a reason that the exhaust should exit at the back of the vehicle.
I have not noticed any smells, I would need to check with a co sensor, not a bad idea.
@@Streetzlegend CO itself is odorless, so even though you don't smell exhaust fumes, you could still be getting CO in the cabin.

Big time boost leaks or wastegate problem
Just to clarify you used the 3" cut out correct? The Tahoe/Silverados have a 2.75" hence the reason you used the gasket right?
Yeah I used 3inch then cut a few lines on the lip help reduce to grab around the gasket and stock pipe.

What was the problem?
Did welding the tip to cutout affect the motor(valve) I want to do the same thing just worried welding it so close might burn motor. I’m sure spot welding should be fine. Has welding it affected yours?
No not at all, if youre too worried you can remove the motor while you weld, it's easy. You can tack weld around then let cool and do final beads.

I would stick to below 400whp and low ignition timing. Preferably upgrading the head gasket because it's the first thing to fail.
Adding new head gaskets With the internals of the stock engine, reprogrammable ecu, would it hold 10psi?
I had forgotten to ask, which pistons did you put in to lower the compression?

I went with the stainless steel LAP JOINT 3" clamps for my '18 silverado 1500 . The pipes on the truck are 2.75" but the bypass valve is 3". The lap joint clamps have a reduction already built into them.

I opted for the double valve bypass. Can't wait to get it installed. I left the factory quiet exhaust alone for stealth.

This appears to be the driveshaft, slip yoke and/or u-joints. It is not the rear end.
What was the ballpark cost of the turbo set up

@@Streetzlegenddid it go away? Dealer changed my drive shaft but noise is still there
@@victorgonzalez9276 They changed the whole rear diff and noise persisted, then they changed the driveshaft and that took care of it. There must have been a hairline crack in it which iv heard from others. I had to actually drive the truck to the back of the dealer where the mechanic bay's are and show the mechanic the sound, right after getting the diff changed. So now at least I have new components.

Its a 4 speed auto and i am manually controlling the shifts solenoids.

Yes the tip affects the final tone, its a thick wall so it gives it a rich deep tone. If you leave a thin wall outlets it gives a raspier tone. Volume not so sure but the tone itself is affected
