Today on JD Cars we’re making my BMW 335i LOUD! The car now has a resonator delete and a valved muffler (straight piped except for the catalytic converter). I cover the entire installation process of the Quick Time Performance DIY Cutout - this is the weld-in option. I also briefly cover the clamp-in cutout option (much easier because it does not require welding). This was a fun weekend project… the time and money invested was definitely well worth it! Don’t waste your money on a cheap cutout from a foreign country. Everything from Quick Time Performance is of the highest quality and everything works perfectly. Thanks for watching! They call it rice when u put cosmetic enhancements with no performance gains on a Japanese car. So an m style bumper n no performance parts on a German car should b called sauerkraut.

Good job, but I recommend using a ‘tap-a-fuse’ socket to tap positive 12v. It’s just safer and won’t cause bad connections or plastic to melt in case something goes wrong and cause a fire.

That 12V constant live will eventually drain your battery, also killing it's health overtime. Get a fuse blade "add a fuse" adapter, then plug it into fuse 143 (rear fusebox) as this is a switched live, it'll only go live when you turn on the ignition saving your battery. I only know this because I did the exact same, the controller box constantly draining the battery wrecked mine after 12 months.

You should take some rubber cement and fill that hole around the wire in that grommet so there's no chance of moisture getting near your fuses and in your trunk.

If you had drilled a hole in the grommet just big enough for the wire then slice the grommet from outside into the hole you could pop in over the wire w/o having that huge hole that might leak water into your trunk. If nothing else it will allow exhaust fumes from you cut-out into the trunk.

Kiefer Loewen it’s more of a personal preference. You will not pass emissions so come time you’ll need to put your stock cat back in the car to pass. However if you don’t mind, removing the cat is the way to go. But you will need a tune to make actually power gains.

Best way to do the fuse instead of wrapping the wire get a fuse tap will have 2 fuses on it and crimp connectors to wire strait to 1 fuse for the added item and 1 fuse for the orginal item and you just crimp and then plug in

  • @johnkemple
    @johnkemple Před 3 lety +2

better to make a small (wire size) hole in the grommet then slice it to the edge of the grommet, so it will seal around the wire instead of the huge hole you put in it.

I’m trying to put one in mine where I will use clamps and have to cut off part of the exhaust to place it in. About 11 inches if I remember. But I was just wondering if that second option with right measurements would work on a different Beamer if you know. I’m very new with cars

Thank you! I wouldn’t be too concerned - I’ve never been given a hard time about it. I don’t think they’ve even noticed it 😂

Hi just get the electric exhaust, but I don’t know to do the connection. Mine came with cigarette lighter conector, can I attach the cable to any fuse.

  • @areyouundoingthatorwhat9181

It would have taken very little time to connect that power supply properly using the proper pin connected to the fuse you used, wrapping the supply around the fuseblade creates a less than ideal contact and therefore resistance and heat,Ideally a terminal 15/ignition live source would have been safer than a permanent feed.

So I pretty much have the same set up on my 335. Stock exhaust but rez delete and the electric cutout but when it’s closed the stock valve in my muffler rattles like crazy! Do you know a fix for it or how I can get it to stop?

Are u going to put the m performance kit on it ? Here in the uk I see m3/m4/m5 with the carbon fiber m performance kit on and they look sick. Also how much did this full kit cost

Sometimes you don't want to always have a straight pipe tho. This gives you the best of both worlds

I’m looking too buy something similar, when the valve is closed how does the car get rid of exhaust gases? It’s bad for the car to run with valve closed?

I think you should’ve just done a muffler delete as well and maybe put the cut off right after the catt

So the best location to put a cutout is as close as possible before the muffler? For loudness
