  • The Smith & Wesson Model 41......10 years in development from 1947 to 1957....it definitely wasn't rushed. This is called the greatest .22 cal pistol ever made by many. Still made to this day it has stood the test of time. Thanks for tuning in.

My first target pistol I purchased well over 30 years ago was a S&W Model 41. I still have it and shot thousands upon thousand of rounds from .22 lr target cartridges to CCI Stingers and everything in between especially Walmart high velocity bulk ammo 550 round boxes with some lot numbers being very accurate.
Nothing ever broke on my pistol and the trigger pull from the factory has broken in to 2.2 lbs and crisp as well.
Without a doubt the finest target pistol ever made and still in production today. Hats off to Smith and Wesson for designing and manufacturing this masterpiece.

My Model 41 has the 7” barrel, super accurate and a very sweet trigger. I bought it 15 years ago, am always on the lookout at gun shows for magazines. If you like the Model 41 you will love the Model 52 which is in 38 Special wadcutter only. Another outstanding video, keep up the good work.

This same 5 1/2 inch barrel model was issued to us on the 4th Naval District pistol team in the mid to late 1960's. Marvelous gun! Civilian price was high - new and used -, and then skyrocketed.

Go buy a buffer for your gun before you shoot any high power ammo in it>>> it may save your gun from braking expensive parts and will remove some felt recoil
Congratulations on buying one of the finest .22 hand guns ever made it looks great nice grips ❤ 😍

Very nice . A retired guy stopped by my local place a few years ago wanting to trade his in on a good shotgun. It was a Performance Center model 41 complete with PC plastic box, all papers and 4 magazines. He told me he only shot two magazines through it and didn’t care for it. He bought it new. It’s still like new. I got it for $1000. It’s fantastic. Nice one you got there, I’m on the lookout for the 7” barrel for mine.

I have a 5 inch sporter barrel on my model 41 which is very accurate. These barrels are very hard to find on the used market and if you find one you will pay hard money for it. S&W should bring back the 5 inch model sporter 41 barrel as they would really sell.

I've got a Ruger Mkll Government Target Model, Browning Buck Mark Bullseye/Silhouette barrels, Beretta 76W and Hi-Standard Sport King SK100(6.75"). I would say I use both about them same but there really isn’t much difference in the feel between them. I rarely take both barrels to the range but bring it with one or the other attached....maybe that’s why. The longer barrel is definitely better for me as far as accuracy goes probably due to the increased sight radius.

You got a GREAT DEAL getting the pistol with the box and all the paperwork was a good price at that point but having the other 7" barrel that pushed it to GREAT PRICE and it appears to be in VG CONDITION as well. I recently picked up on just a 5.5" made in the mid to late 70's with NO BOX or paperwork for $875 in GOOD+ condition but the grips almost appears to be AFTERMARKET because the fit is not so great considering the quality of the rest of the pistol. I can fix that but I shouldn't have to do that in the first place. It shoots Ok I only shot it once and only about maybe 40-50rds, just checking function and was shooting a couple other pistols and a 10/22 I recently acquired. 😉😁👍

I’ve owned a few over the years and the bluing was noticeably better on my older ones but my current 2020/M41 has great fit and function; I’ve been told that Smith changed their actual bluing process so that may be the explanation. My only real complaint is that extra mags are overpriced!
