- Alright time to do the 9 inch ends on this Ford 8.8. I have a lot of respect for the shops that build these housings, they are alot of work!

Great idea for an upload, wish I did this when my 8.8 bearing was leaking
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. Tin Soldiers stuff is awesome and I am having a real hard time deciding what to do. I enjoy the welding but lack of experience and time has me leaning towards buying housing complete.
Looks good
Great job great video great thumbnail
Thanks!
Check out the dirt track chassis suppliers they all have weld on caliper mounting brackets for the Wilwood calipers that are radius for the 3” axle tube, 15$ each, easy fix to be able to use your existing rotors
I will. Thanks for this info!
I wonder what the cost is for a competent shop to do it.
Couple grand nowadays.
Nice work, whatwas the cost for te alignment bar you are using & cost on making the bearing jig. Thanks
The bar was 180 on summit. The alignment puck I made was free. I had the material. I did buy the carrier alignment pucks, Those were 85.
my buddy fit brembos on his 5.0. the cts Cadillac early 2000. cheap too.
How do they perform with a manual brake cylinder ?
Can you get thicker brake pads and reuse the calipers? For example, Ford uses the same calipers for the 94-98 Cobra and non-Cobra, and just specs thinner pads for the vented rotor.
I’m not sure. I ended up reusing the rotors.
@@fox-body Appreciate your channel. I'm prepping my SVO for the drag strip and get lots of inspiration to spend the money and do the work.
Awesome title, a MAGA 8.8
😂
It is a parking brake.
What size wheel and backspace are you running?
8 inch wheel. 5.5 back space.
What is the correct filler rod and amperage for this process?
Blue Demon ER70S2 X 1/16" X 36" X 1LB Tube Premium Carbon Steel Tig Welding Rod a.co/d/aJMPcdi
I ran it around 80 amps.
@@fox-body Thank you for the info. 😎👍
Why wouldn’t you use a 9 inch?
Weight. At my power level the 8.8 is perfect.
Hello, how can i contact you about the product sponsorship?

🤔 so you'd have to use axles for a 9" ?
Yes. You order axles with pressed on bearings for the 9inch ends.
@@fox-body Ok...thanks 👍
