FFP is stopping the league been more competitive 5 or 6 teams could challenge if they were allowed to spend .. i think they should allow teams to have different budgets based on where they finish in the league .. the winner has the lowest budget 2nd the 2nd lowest etc etc and try and create more parody throughout the league - only down side is some teams would play to lose but the fact City could win b2b treble and have the biggest budget next season... obviously as a Newcastle fan i hate FFP because now we could actually challenge.. they need to allow fringe clubs likes us and Villa to be able to kick on

I would have all teams earn the same in the top flight, more money thrown into the second tier and have slightly less for each tier. But this will never happen as the premier league was a breakaway league and they do not care about the competitiveness at all of other teams, it was a league built by 5 teams and 5 teams only and instead of Everton being there, Chelsea and man city have replaced them. I love watching the Prem, I still think there are many things that make it compelling to watch throughout a season but the truth is the league is no longer a competitive one, since 2018/19 there have only been two teams with any real chance to win it, a 3rd team as joined that race for the last 2 seasons and for all that City have won it every year except the year Liverpool won it. I think the bundesliga is more competitive than what the trophies show, twice dortmund ran Bayern to the final game, including last season, and both Wolfsburg and Leipzig had close seasons, but because it ended with Bayern on top the whole season was written off. I think it’s the same in England, especially Liverpool came super close and we had fantastic seasons, only the final position came down to City. It doesn’t devalue the leagues, but it’s frustrating especially for those who got close

Honestly speaking, no matter people are trying to shy away from this fact, the EPL brought this conversation upon itself, "Farmer's league".
It's evident that City cheated their way to the top, with 115 charges hanging over them since God knows how long, but the @premierleague still dilly dallying on the judgement, whereas clubs like Everton, Forest, Leicester etc get judged.
As a football fan, I found it ridiculous and laughable seeing people waxing lyrics about City, not as team which they've cheated to assemble, but as a football club.

In the Premier League, at least the identity of the ‘horses’ competing for the title has varied a lot more compared to the other major European leagues.
Bayern had already won 13 more German / Bundesliga titles than anyone else, before their 11 in a row streak started.
Juve had already won 9 more Serie A titles than anyone else, before their 9 in a row sequence started. In-between 2001 and 2023, no-one outside the big 3 won the title.
In La Liga, Real and Barca will once again occupy the top 2 spots, having won more than two thirds of all historical titles between them. Atletico were the 3rd most successful team in La Liga history and the 4th biggest club in Spain (narrowly behind Valencia) before Simeone took charge. The fact that their 2 title wins were such ‘upsets’ was a damning indictment of the league.

2021 City by 12 points. Pretty good.
    2022 by one point.
2023 by five points, after being eight points behind Arsenal late in the season.
Most of the time, City have won by a small margin. They have been pushed all the way. The difference between City and their rivals is, they never give up. They don't bottle it at the end of the season. They hold their nerve right to the end.
