  • Small table lamp with a plastic socket gets a new fabric shade. The old shade had a large metal ring so we use a nord style harp saddle, traditional harp, finial, and a washer fitter shade. These types of sockets are common in big box stores and inexpensive lamps. Finding a new shade to change the style only requires a little hardware.

Thank you for this video - I’ve been trying to find out for months what to call the harp “saddle”.

I love how i can google literally anything and find out that things like lamp harps, saddles and finials exist, and how to make them work

I would like to know how to wire a lamp that has light in the base and what kind of switch I need. (a wiring diagram perhaps)

Where do you get the harp saddles? My lamp has a spider saddle with 3 prongs. But of course, I thought all shades were the same and bought a new shade at IKEA. The shade wobbles since it’s the nord saddle, I’m guessing, and the the adapters included are too small or too big. I’m thinking that changing the saddle will work.
