      @@TravisKlein1 A brick can fall on my head when walking on the street. In this case it's thin mdf no grain, good blade on the saw. The risk of that is minimal. If it was dense oak or ash then I would approach the cut differently👍 However everyone needs to follow their way of working so they feel confident and secure.

    I had a smile while watching this video. After owning a Rage5S table saw for a few years I have not noticed the t-tracks on top of the fence. Thank you for pointing that out Tomasz. Keep up the quality content. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

    Good video. I would even move the fence board even further into the blade or add another one. The trailing teeth of the blade are rising up and have a tendency to lift the board.

      @@CasualDIY Hello Tomasz,
      It looks like you're using it instead of a proper face mask when cutting MDF on your mitre saw. That hose from the top isn't doing anything to remove the very dangerous and carcinogenic MDF dust cloud. It's as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike!
      I find it strange that you manually direct a hose to the tip of your pillar drill which isn't making hardly any dust at all, and you made sure your router table on the Rage 5 has great dust collection, but you damned near stick your face and nose into the cloud of MDF dust being blasted everywhere from your mitre saw. Please, at least wear a decent quality face mask that filters out MDF dust.
      I've only recently discovered your channel and I'm thoroughly enjoying working my way through your vids, So, as a new subscriber I want you to continue making them. I'm enjoying your no fluff and bullshit style as opposed to some of the big US youtubers that take up half the video explaing who their sponsor of the week is. So again, please start using a decent mask.
      There're a lot of videos on YT about mitre saw dust collection, this is one of the simplest and best I've seen and am going to be making a version for my cheapy Titan sliding one; czcams.com/video/mkzCUF02s2g/video.html.

    I notice you have the same evolution mitre saw as me. Could you recommend a good replacement blade? Is it the same fitting as the table saw blade? Thanks

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před rokem +1

      Same bore hole 25.4mm
      I have done some testing and if you are not bothered with reducing rings then I would go Freud or Trend. If you don't want to worry about reducing rings then go for Saxton blades. They are very good and they got a range with 25.4mm bore hole.

    Excellent!
    One question, although it is to do with the RAGE 5-S not the featherboard. While watching this video, I notice your Riving knife is flashing with the blade. Some says higher and some says as you are. Will you mind doing a video on some safety tips in the future my friend? And a BIG Thank you...

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před rokem +1

      The riving knife should be at such height as the top of the blade. But it will be different if you are using the top blade cover or when you are using a sled. But the general idea is that it should be covering whole blade height.

    Some people might try that once, but then find it to be overkill and too time consuming. A proper push stick does everything the fence feather stick does, and doesn't require adjusting. Anyways, keep coming up with new ideas.

    • @CasualDIY

      I find these especially helpful with long boards when they tend to wonder a bit. This set up makes sure they stay right on the point. But yes these are not for every scenario. But with 20 pine boards to rip in half, all 2.4m long this will be perfect.
