They don't view it as a legitimately enforceable, despite how many people get killed by red light runners every year. They are what is known as feckin eejits.
Sovereign citizens think unless there is a direct victim you can point at, it isn't a crime.
I'm not sure what the point of asking that question is, since they don't believe they are subject to laws or the authority of police. What does it matter to them what crime has been committed?

I got a ticket last night for expired registration. The cop could have given me tickets for changing lanes without a signal and a burned out tail light, but he gave me a break. He pulled me over, introduced himself, and told me why he stopped me. I had all my documents ready. All very cordial. I thanked him for giving me a break and he wished my wife and I a good evening. No fuss, no muss. I did tell him I watched these sov cit videos and I was thinking about trying it for fun, but that had I done so, my wife would have killed me and I wouldn't have to worry about the ticket. He let out a good laugh.
I had a similar interaction when I got pulled over by an officer for a blown taillight and I accidentally gave him an expired insurance card... but after telling him I gave him the wrong card (I had), he just said all I had to do was come down to the station by a certain date, show that the taillight was blown and that I did have proper insurance and the charges would be dropped.
I did what was asked, showed my proper insurance card, proved the taillight was fixed, and everything got dropped. Funny how it works when you're willing to work with the officers on these sorts of things...
Oh, I suffer from the same temptation. But, if I were to actually try it, I'd have to first make a hand held sign that reads: "Sorry, officer. Don't take the stuff I'm saying seriously. I'm just trying to get a laugh out of you."
I did try the script on a cop friend of mine once. He rolled his eyes and told me how may people try it, then switch gears when it fails.
As an avid follower of Governor chili to Castro let me analyze a few of your mistakes first of all as we all know you should immediately start filming the police with two phones while holding your arms up in touchdown position . When the officer approaches your car immediately starts screaming at him that he works for you it would be especially helpful if you called him a jackboot thug pig, after they break your window and pull you out of the car take you downtown you have a rock solid civil rights lawsuit 😉

A few years ago I was on my way to McDonalds for breakfast and was pulled over because a rear taillight was out. Next thing I knew, I was cuffed and placed in the back seat of a police car. Some dude in the same state with the same name (Well, I.D.s don't include the whole middle name, just the initial) had a warrant. We sat tight, and the police sorted it out. They were kind of sheepish about the whole thing. I didn't even get a fix-it ticket, and went about my business. Nobody yelled, nobody screamed and nobody got arrested. It isn't complicated.
Police enforce the law, they rarely want to make life difficult for the average citizen.

I was just stopped by the California Highway Patrol the other day for speeding. His lights went on, I pulled over, rolled down the windows, and put my hands on the steering wheel. He came up to the car and I said good afternoon officer. He told me what I had done and then told my wife she needs to tell me to slow down. Best of all no ticket. Being respectful goes a long ways.
But did the patrol car have a solid red front facing light during the stop? Under the motor vehicle code the rest of the light bar is technically just bling. Something I picked up while on a Grand Jury.

I am not disagreeing with you but I think in this particular instance the man is keeping the dog for companionship because he has nothing else in his life. It's quite apparent he's going through a lot mentally and emotionally. He mentioned his wife and kids living in Massachusetts while he's clear down in Florida. He has absolutely nothing or nobody in a state he's unfamiliar with other than his work truck and a dog. Part of me feels sorry for him but not much because I have no doubts there's a reason why his wife left him and took his kid with her. Based on his behavior with the female officer, he was in all likelihood a controller with his ex wife and probably treated her very poorly. Even though this man deserves what happened to him in this video and any pending outcomes from the courts, I do hope he's somehow able to straighten up and improve his quality of life and perhaps find another woman and treat her well and find stable housing. He absolutely must change his attitude and behavior for anything positive to happen though. That poor dog does not deserve to be living in a passenger seat of a truck either. I hope they find a good home for it

I used to work in a detention center and their cuffs were painted pink to discourage officers and deputies from removing the center's cuffs from the facility.
When I retired from law enforcement seven years ago, I was aware of one company that made handcuffs in several different colors. One officer I knew chose to carry pink handcuffs because she felt it added a bit of shame to the arrest experience for tough, macho guys. I did a Google search for colored handcuffs prior to writing this response and discovered there are now several different companies that sell handcuffs in different colors.
Too bad he didn't notice and the arresting officers didn't make it a group effort to point this out. It would have crushed his sovcit ego. Alpha male instantly downgraded to beta beeotch.

It's unlikely they'll euthanize the dog. Most jurisdictions will keep dogs in this situation separate from the strays. Let's hope that's the case in this instance.
As part of a local rural rescue, I've been called to pick up and care for a dog when its owner got arrested on the highway and the vehicle got towed. I think a lot of places are set up to make sure people's animals are ok.
Most shelters are no-kill adoption centers. So hopefully...

I'm retired Federal Law Enforcement and my son followed in my footsteps as a Deputy Sheriff in the Midwest with 2 years on the job. I brought these sovereign citizens to the his attention. He told me that he had specific training in the academy dealing with sovereign citizens. All the in his department were told to request their drivers license a total of 3 times. After the the 2nd request they instruct the driver that he will be given one more chance to surrender their drivers license for inspection. Should he not comply after the 3rd and last request they will then break their window(s), physically remove them from the vehicle and be place them under arrest. Short sweet and simple. Once the driver is identified as a sovereign citizen backup is automatically in rout as they are to never deal with them without backup.

It is one thing to FA. It is quite another to FO. He went thru the complete FAFO cycle. He just thought he was at rock bottom in his life, BUT he proved that when you are in the bottom of the hole, you CAN dig down further.
While walking my dog a while back I stepped wrong and did a face plant directly on the asphalt, breaking a nose and a hand in the process. A kind neighbor saw it and rushed to my aid. Bleeding profusely, in answer to her question if I was okay, my first words were “Where is my dog? Please take care of my dog.” I cannot understand these people who can’t consider the impact of their stupidity on the ones they claim to care about. Praying that poor dog wasn’t put down if it couldn’t be re-homed.
Its called a compliancy strike not a punch ;), i also low how the guy gets pulled out and the dog jumps out and starts barking like "yeah dumb ass this is what you get, omg my day has been made!"
If only the cops had firmly said "Bad boy! Bad boy!" once they had restrained the entitled dumb-ass.

Being a dog owner and dog lover, I never go anywhere without my dog. I wonder how hard it would be to get your dog out of animal control? My dog wouldn't be happy, but it's only because he needs to have me nearby all the time. God love Dash!❤❤
They say call for back up and then next thing you know they're complaining about how many cops are there....The more cops the less injury that could potentially happen for you as the Offender being arrested.

While that would be violence, that's not what made it "resisting with violence." It was him grabbing and pushing the officer's hand that made it "with violence."
We see plenty of sovcits who have enough sense to simply go limp like a toddler to get the lesser charge of "resisting without violence." Which is then often dropped at trial.
Putting his hands on the officer is going to make the judge and prosecutor pay special attention, and that's not good for him.
I’d like to say he met the RIGHT cop, not one that will give him multiple upon multiple opportunities to comply.

The driver said he was punched, and the officer said, "Damn right," and later said, "I popped him," so I guess it was just out of frame.
