The Xterra was actually meant to compete with the FJ cruiser. The 4runner was more in the same class as the Pathfinder.
Honestly I think it was better than all of those.
I purchased one after test driving the FJ Cruiser and others.
I now have a Ram Rebel. Though I often wonder if I should have got rid of it.
FJ blindspot and gimmicky looks along with the no back windows opening were reasons to choose Pro4x for me
Now the Pathfinder competes with the Highlander 💀

I have a 2008 with 175,000 miles on it. Was thinking about getting rid of it since I havent been driving it for a while. So i started getting it ready for sale and I remembered why I love this thing. Needless to say its staying again lol.

My 2015 Pro4-X has 60K miles on it. Nissan want's to buy it for 30K.

Good review; as noted already more of a direct FJ competitor which Toyota pulled the plug on in 2014 in North America. Own a Black 2015 PRO-4X (6MT) with 7K miles on it; have added a roof cargo basket, but no other mods. Paid $30K new for it; more comfortable and a better on-road driver than a Wrangler...
Great review! Nicely done. Look forward to seeing more. I have a 2001, a 2002 Xterra, and may own a 2015 4ProX someday! When I do, I may have to sell the other two. I may need some therapy when I do tho.

Same here, have a 2011 Pro4x with a 2" lift... It's a hog on gas but an off-road tank
Nice review. Good job, young man. As a former 2000 Xterra owner, I can tell you that my baby was nowhere near as nice as the vehicle in your very professional presentation, but I loved her to death, anyway. I just might be looking for another newer Xterra to fill that "void" very soon.

I think the rear window shape is another call-out to the old LR Discovery.
The bumpers are the exact same across the entire range. The only difference is that the fog lights come standard on pro4x. The only external changes for the pro4x are the badges, bigger tires, and roof lights.

Originally, wanted an Xterra Pro 4x but decided on the 2012 Pathfinder instead. Would have loved to have the factory rear locker, and a 3 year newer vehicle, but all in all prefer the size of the 2012 Pathfinder.
The six speed manual version is the best.
Nice video. Too bad Nissan never put the 5.6 in the Xterra, like it did with the Pathfinder in 08-12.

I have an Xterra pro 4X 2015 and I like it a lot, except the rear suspention.
Can you elaborate on the rear suspension issue?
@@aliyawilson9652 suspension isnt really an issue, its just preference. some people dont like how it feels/handles. it works just fine for me, i have the 2010 pro4x
I love my 2007 xterra I have 192,000 miles on mine I want the 2025 xterra but not looking for a huge price to pay

Best year of the xterra is the first gen which is 2000 to 2003 second gen will be 2011 to 2015.
Depends on the the mileage. My 2015 pro 4x with 85 000k price range between 12k to 15k now if you buy from a dealer they will rip you off.
The lights are not stock. Neither is the roof rack or those skid plates

I love my Xterra the only thing I hate is when I get a flat and have to get the spare from the underside it's a pain in the ass
No offense, but arr you doing it correctly? My xterra is very simple to remove the spare if need be

Are the xterra worth the money
they are worth it as long as you don't mind the fuel Economy, i have the 2010 pro4x as my daily driver. you can expect to get 200 - 400,000 miles out of it if you take care of it. it is body on frame and not a unibody vehicle so its heavier and higher off the ground. i don't mind the suspension on mine but thats something alot of people upgrade/complain about

Nissan doesn't make these anymore because of the EPA fuel economy requirements. The Xterra is a gas hog. I still have my 2002 Xterra 238K.
