Hey guys! Back with another Borderlands 2 video and today, I wanted to go ahead and talk about Axton the Commando and why I think he's a fun and good character to play.
As always, if you liked this video, feel free to leave a like and let me know what you think!
I chose axton because i wanted to have a turret as a friend…and felt lonely playing it solo.
Try gaige
Engage Gaige
Same I don't like being alone in a TVHM world
Axton IMO is one of the more versatile classes
And with the turret you can run op8 fairly easy just with kill skills+ an infinity (and it hits insanely high RoF) and melts even tubbies +with turret you dont need a slag item freeing up space for more dps
Gaige's mech would be laughing
Zer0's Holo Double would stay shut
Honestly his phrases are some of the best, like when I opened a Dahl chest and he said basically, wow that is just..... wow
Jason Keene lol
Yo I love when he throws grenades: “here, hang on to this-“, epic. Can’t forget when he revives people: “you work out....er...” legend
It's "wow, that's... wow" but yeah.
Or when he throws his turret. There's so much character in those "Meet my Lady Friend!" Or "You fella's meet the Missus?"
@@brandoncreek5709 whenever I’d throw out the turret and he’d say ‘say hello sweetie’ his voice would sound like Jeremy Reiner and I’d get this fun headcanon that I’m playing an Alternative Universe Hawkeye. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
I think that the problem people may have with Axton is because he is actually a balanced character unlike the rest that are tilting on the broken to downright broken side.
Yeah, the walking glitch is just so "cheap" to use
Andreas Petersen nice lmao
Even Zero?
B0re. Considering that if you do it right, you can one-shot OP8 Hyperious with a lvl 1 repeater, which is something no-one else can do, btw, I would say that even he is on that side :3
Maya
Krieg is my favourite character from the series, however Axton is a far more balanced and classic experience because of the variety and reliance on gun/gear. For example, krieg is badass but I get bored of always using buzz axe rampage or being a human torch. Actions turret is cool, but doesn't get boring because it's not the only thing keeping him alive/ interesting. He uses it and also uses all the guns you find. I just find the other vault hunters are very specific, whereas Axton has more flexibility. I've played all the vault hunters and I'd say my playthrough as him was the most consistently enjoyable.
I agree
Well said
Exactly why I chose Roland in Borderlands 1 and Axton in Borderlands 2, I like to have the possibility to switch between guns and have them be somewhat all reliable (starting with sniper rifle then switching to assault rifle and finishing things off with shotgun or revolver). I was afraid of the boredom you describe with other characters being too specific, happy I made this choice then.
I love his turret! I loved Roland in Borderlands. It can do a lot of support and it was a GREAT asset to revive your friends when you need too. The bubble and the rockets are so fun when you unlock them and having a turret is like having a companion!
Joshua Villagomez Axton's Turret is basically a massive improvement to Roland's Turret.
Roland's Turret was ok but the Main Issue was that it could only shoot in one direction.
Axton's Turret is literally gold. Can fire at 360 degrees, shoot Slag Bullets and Rockets, have a Bubble Shield, have 2 Turrets at once, etc...
Axton's Turret makes Roland's Turret look like a Kids Toy!
Damn straight
Joshua Villagomez say hello to my lady friend lol
BuryTheDead
Actually, Roland's turret was a little better due to the fact that it can regenerate your ammo and health and drop supply drops for even more ammo. It can shoot rockets too and it technically had slag as well. If you don't know, corrosive is basically the slag of the first game and you can equip corrosive bullets on your turret.
I loved Roland in BL1 for his AR/Shotgun skills, he got insane mag amount and low recoil, also Scorpion can give you ammo suppply.
So in BL2 I choose Axton expecting similar game experience, but jeez, AR in BL2 is shit! And they give Commando's mag skills to Siren? Leaving Axton with the shitty AR mag skill.
And they give Commando's ammo supply skill to Sal. Axton can do wonders with TE guns(cost insane amount of ammo though), but they strip him of ammo supply skill a Commando should have, overall I feel it's very unfair.
Sabre is a improvement, shorter cool down, rocket launcher, slag barrels etc. But honestly that's the only thing Axton is better in. His survival skill is gold though.
Salvador used to be my favorite character. Axton is now my favorite.
Moff Tarkin Nice change of decision bud.
BasicallyaMoose 816 I like that any weapon is good with Axton unlike Salavador.
@@tonyforshyr9381 you right. I was miss informed. Axton is still my favorite character.
A man of culture.
Axton was my first but I moved over to Maya and Krieg. I've always kinda stayed away from Sal because he's pretty easy. May do a Gaige playthrough, I suck at Zer0.
Axton is the most versatile, in terms of replay value: you can spec into non-elemental damage and do a Jakobs build. You can spec into Steady and focus on splash guns like Hornet and Hellfire. You can go deeper into Explosive, using Veteran, to run clean Torgue or Tediore builds. You can go ALL in on Explosive Axton and do a fastball/launcher playthrough. I have done all of these very effectively. I’m currently doing an Explosive Axton melee hybrid and it’s a blast
could you tell me your spec for that last one (72 level cap Im broke af and got the epic games version)
БОМБАСТИЧЕН best if I just show you:
czcams.com/video/YBiMzRFTLG0/video.html
БОМБАСТИЧЕН then I leaned in on launchers when loaders / constructors appeared
czcams.com/video/Wldu_ILHmyo/video.html
БОМБАСТИЧЕН in terms of the 8 points missing, just run the one turret and only get to the middle of the right tree, try to get points on Resourceful to get your cooldown as fast as possible. Mag lock will protect your turret as you can put it on the ceiling, you want it out as Battlefront buffs both melee and Explosive, which the Love Thumper benefits from both. You end up wasting a few points on the right tree because you don’t want shield buffs as you need the Love Thumper to break and stay broken in order to get the roid damage. I do put a couple on Preparation, as it only boosts the shield 6% but allows you to get to full health when your shield is back up, like when you are running to an area etc, a pet peeve of mine
I just finished the story using melee/launchers and it was relatively easy. I’ve since spec’ed into health and non-elemental damage and am doing a no-Moxxi Lascaux run featuring Chaotic Good COM
Axton is my main, my goto character, love his turrets
Axton to me is a good defense character since his turrets can be useful distracting enemies. Although his skills needs more buffs yet they are more versatile in solo. Either way Axton is a fun character to play but with friends is even more better.
keynan martinez the term you are looking for is *Aggro.*
Boyishdude What are you saying?
keynan martinez Let's say you have Bessie charged up and ready for use, but you accidentally got the attention of the local mobs. You head into the fight and immediately plant Bessie down on the ground. When she's activated, the mobs stop targeting you and start targeting Bessie.
In other words, the turret has pulled the Aggro of the mobs towards it instead of you. In Axton's case, its basically an Aggro Reset. The turret maintains the mob aggro until it dies OR until it is used up.
Sorry, I'm not the best person to ask.
keynan martinez agrro is a generally used game term, short for aggravation. Turrents are aggro pullers since they draw enemy attention. Abilities like zero's deception are aggro droppers since they force enemies to target something else.
I learned that you should not rely too much on grit that it will always activate to save you, you still have to play with care.
I have a maxed out Axton. He’s exceptional to me. Great character. Very balanced.
I use axton all the time
best4life gaming same
Yap me too all tims 300 hours just using him and im fine, after it i try build mechro, yap just 2 of my char on bdr2
Galang Putro bro just try other charcters you can’t just say one is the best if you only played that single character
My real. And is axton
Same
When I first played Borderlands I used Axton for the entire game to defeating Jack and The Warrior solo
Same here, i couldn't even tell you how many times his sabre turret tipped the scale in my favor . And that was all solo .
@@austinthorning5025 on op8?
Which OP level did you get to?
@@BlootusWealth you know they talking about normal mode but easily can be done in op8 (Well now op10)
I mean the warrior is one of the easiest bosses to kill
I’m 52 years old and disabled Army veteran and my boys told me I should play borderlands 2 and I can’t put it down, by the way Axton is my favorite!
Wow add me on shift if you need a coop buddy.
Axton is my main. I absolutely love deploying portable sentry guns, since it draws aggro away from me and provides cover fire when I need to run away and/or take cover while I regenerate my health/shields. I also think he’s the most friendly vault hunter for solo play.
My second favorite has to be melee Zer0. It’s so risk/reward that it’s incredibly satisfying to decimate whole groups of enemies without ever needing to shoot a single bullet.
I have used axton since the beginning of the game, I really enjoyed how versatile Axton is considering he used to be a Dahl soldier. I tried other characters, they just do not fly with me
I like Axton he is the character I play the most in Borderlands 2
I love Axton. Turrets that slag enemies and draw enemy fire as well as longbow turrets can make Axton really fun to play.
Axton is rough to play with at first but by lvl 50 he is definitely a beast
I hope you are right cause i'm lv7 now and it is not as easy as i was expecting...😂😂😂
Past Long Ago it’s definitely a struggle lol
@@Samuraiwavy just abt halfway to 50 and ive already beefed up alot, looking forward to getting some of his high end skills like grit
A amazing combo of skills for axton’s turret is phalanx Shield Gemini and scorched earth. I’m on ultimate vault hunter and my turrets mess up most enemies. If you add Double up to that axton is going to destroy almost all enemies.
I'm a level 36 Axton atm and for me the game was a bit of a slog until I got Gemini now I just kinda mow through enemies with my twin turrets with shields, working on getting double up now for the slag rounds and extra turret dps (I just love my turret lol), might even pick up a couple non turret skills for general combat lol
Me and some friends once got some of our axton characters, put gemini and some other turret skills on them and used nothing but our turrets against some bosses.
There may be better ways to take out bosses (and enemies getting to the bosses), but 8 turrets in a line firing rockets and slag shots is pretty badass
That's sounds badass, did you defeat teramorphs
Normal military: uses squad of humans to become a firing squad
Axton mains:
Automated firing squad
I love Axton he's my first and favorite character to play I'm playing him now
I like him he's my favorite character in the game cuz it's just something I see in him that's good about him
I have never seen that spelling of your last name before?
Finally a video showing that the choice I made ages ago wasn't horrendous 😂😂
Ratchetdiogo22 he was my first too
I hated him so much but I was so far in the game that I didn't get rid of him
I still hate him
I'm running through the game right now with Axton again and having a great time!
Thanks for supporting my boy Axton
Every character in BL2 is fun in it's own way
Facts
So does this mean I’m actually a skilled player to use him to fully beat ultimate vault hunter mode?
Yes
Kinda, but Puma is a very bad axton player, as you can see him using Magic missiles and beehawk on very basic mobs. Axton is very powerfull and the new lv80 lvl cap benefitted him the most, being now able to have both grenades and double up+gemini build all together
Rob Cips yeah I haven’t used a Bee in a year or so of solid play, and have never even picked up a Sandhawk 🤷🏻♂️
HE IS USING A VALCANO AND A BEE SHIELD!!!HHAHAHAAHAHHA
No. Not really.
I had probably the easiest time getting him through Digistruct Peak to OP 8, for example. This was long before the new DLC like another commenter addressed, and this was on 360 anyway which the DLC wasn't released on, so the Raid on Digistruct Peak was basically the best way to determine how good your build is because it was (and still is) basically one of the most challenging things to progress through in the game.
My hardest was Krieg. He took forever. I had to get a friend to help me with it. Of course, that was before I even knew how to properly use Krieg anyway and it was definitely long before I got over the whole "I only use legendary class mods" mindset, which held back all of my builds altogether.
And even with that, Axton was a piece of cake to get through the Raid, even on the last part with the boss fight where I couldn't use my kill skills.
Pro tip: His great weapon swap speed is a lifesaver. Especially for moxxi guns for healing. Very very underappreciated and underrated. People don't talk about it enough, but it is.
Fun fact: Weapon swap speed is actually higher on UVHM than TVHM because it helps you slag enemies, heal yourself, switch to weapons when your magazine is empty, and otherwise kill things faster and stay alive longer.
I always picked commando type characters in the borderland series, and always will! I Can’t wait for borderlands 3 to come, to see who our new die-hard soldier is.
When running a grit build ill frequently get half a dozen grit saves in a row. the 44% figure seems like a false metric. Feels more like 75% in practice. Amazing skill.
I just like having an incredibly powerful bekah, amazing splash damage hornet and tediore smgs.
I also always thought axton would be better if his skills gave additional bonuses to ARs, like ranger giving double bonusss if using an AR or something
Bruh, being able to throw grenades during FFYL is SO GOOD!
Yes, I always carry a rocket launcher, but I don't always have the ammo for it.
Also Grit is just lovely, I LOVE hearing that weird DING sound trigger like 5 times in a row.
I usually play axton so lemme tell you how helpful it is having over 15 grenades a slag moxxi weapon equipped and constantly throwing storm fronts. Plus middle tree grenade and rocket launcher bonuses with the kerblaster. Absolute carnage.
Not to mention crazy fast weapon swap speed and several bonuses to having a full shield + keeping your Sham shield or any other shield constantly recharging or full. Untouchable.
He is extremely good. The turrets are amazing, not just for the added damage, but also as a distraction. Enemies usually focus on them. Plus, getting extra grenades is pretty sweet. People love zero and salvadore because of broken skills (bore) and exploits (pimperhab).
Still dont get why people say Bore is op when its only op against a handful of bosses.
Or ya....cause they aren't boring lol
Axton is a LOT better than what a lot of people think. He deals great damage, has great survivability, his action skill is useful. I main him and I play him in OP8. He is great with almost any gun, and is great at using certain weapons that almost every other vaulthunters aren't so great at using, such as rocket launchers, tediore reloads, grenades.
Its a shame that a lot of people think he sucks, because he just simply isn't, even when compared to other vaulthunters, even in OP8.
TrailDash axton and salvador zer0 and maya suck
Axton and Salvador the best
@@psychov3555 Zer0 and Maya are great. Are you high on drugs?
TrailDash zero and mya I hate cause I don’t give a fuck about snipers
No comments from Demonite yet. Dude has the top rated high speed kills on all the raids for solo Axton. But yeah he’s not good offensively. Where’s that Kermit meme?!
Axton with a good sham, maxed out grit, an ogre, magic missiles, and a slag turret is an absolute tank in any mob situation.
What do you mean by "not good offensively"?
I mean that as a completely sarcastic line. Axton is a beast.
Oh okay. lol.
Will Collins I think max grit should be 40% chance to trigger
The Character that made me grind and fall in love with the game love how fast he was
Axton when built right is a beast and the best. He has soo many ways to get boosted.
If you spec into his survival skill tree like grit he is almost immortal
BasicallyaMoose 816 But even max grit still has small % of triggering, you cant rely on it kick in all the time
u can with juiced pointman which makes it 11/5 which is around 50% and can proc many times in a row BUT, once you've really specced into that you can't deal much damage unless you're using a bee.
Axton is one of my favorite, so underrated. Fun to play with solo or co-op. Very versatile, if you know how to play/gear him right!
Axton is a support class character, when the turret is on the field that gives him a chance to revive fallen team mates
Roland was my main in B1, so I ended up rolling Axton In B2 and never looked back. He’s so good.
I just managed to grab the Legendary Soldier class mod for Axton. Loving it in TVM.
During my first play-though, I found Axton to the easiest character to play as.
I could use the turret to deal with close range enemies while I snipe the farther enemies
or I could use the turret to distract everyone while I just pour grenades and smg fire into the horde
he was my main character the first time i played borderlands 2. i named my son axton
*"And you get a bullet! And you get a bullet! EVERYBODY GETS A BULLET!"*
-Axton Winfrey
2 turrets with rockets. Nuff said
They're basically a pocket sized army. :D
Didn't....you make a video about how bad Axton was, glad you have changed your mind
Did he show the bee+infinity gameplay while declaring he sucks in that video?
@@theblancmange1265 this is just a strong combination of items that is good on any character, just like bee + sand hawk. It really is independent of character you play
Did you even watch that video? Even the first 5 or 10 seconds? That video was more of a response to people who say Axton is bad.
My first full playthru of BL2 was with Axton. I played with a friend, who used Kreig. Throughout it, I was always a bit jealous of the stupid high damage kreig was doing, while I struggled with Axton. But I've still grown to like him and his play style, which is quite adaptable, depending on skills and load outs.
Axton has always been my favorite vault hunter
Grit+The sham = immortal
Axton is a great defense character, and someone who I really should pour more time into. He's balanced, which is either a good or bad thing, depending on how the player chooses to look at things. He's really fun when you play with other people, though. He's good on his own, but having friends in the game just makes him a lot more exciting. It's a shame that he does get such a bad rep though. :(
i love a challenge plus i don't like beating a game too quickly i enjoy taking out hordes of enemies that keep spawning out of spawn points
Axton was my first ever character and I’ve always enjoyed him.
Axton was my first and only choice in borderlands 2. I absolutely Slayed with Axton. You can dominate a fight by preemptively tossing two longbow maglock turrets high on a wall or on the ceiling where the enemies can't get to them.
I played Axton as my first run, and the main challenge I ran into with him is that he’s pretty good when his turret is up, but without the turret he’s... eh.
I found myself waiting for turret cooldown between fights, which was anti-fun.
If reclaiming the turret was more effective or if it just had a lower base cooldown, Axton would be just fine.
Giving him a way to generate grenades passively (maybe while turret is available but not deployed) or some variant of Sal’s double throw would also be nice.
He isn’t unplayable, to be sure, there just isn’t any reason to specifically play him and he feels like filler.
Justanotherconsumer So basically its not fun for you because he takes skill to play and isn't overpowered. Gotcha.
Axton can handle himself between cool-downs with Metal Storm, Crisis Management, and other skills. You should not rely on his turrets so much, as I have the feeling it’s why you are having a hard time with him.
If you build defense, with Willing, Grit, Healthy, and so on, with the proper relics and class mods (Proficiency relics and Unstoppable Pointman being my favorites) Axton can be fairly hard to kill. Grit being at 11/5 grants a 44% chance to avoid death and regenerate half your health. That’s nearly one in two. At that point, you don’t need to rely on his turrets so much. They are meant to support you, not be your mainline of defense or offense.
That's the problem: you rely on it. Most characters shouldn't have this issue, and I'm certain most of them can handle themselves without using their action skills.
A common trap for new players is to think that they should rely on the turret. Axton is at his best when you stack buffs on him as opposed to the turret. There's a lot of beefy damage upgrades in his middle tree to use. He's also no slouch on the defensive side of things thanks to things like Willing, Able, and Preparation. By focusing on him you can use the turret as a bonus distraction in large fights, getting enemies to shift off of position and leaving them vulnerable. It can also tie up a choke point, forcing enemies to stack up in one area and leave themselves vulnerable to explosive damage.
XoRandomGuyoX Not to mention that the turret is perfect for farming too, especially the Warrior. Any kills the sentry gets also procs your kill skills, which can most certainly make farming much faster depending on the presence of mob enemies.
Seriously, people just complain if a character isn’t super OP or broken.
The turret saves you most of the time when your on a second win
One of the best borderlands 2 informative videos ive seen! Nice job!
Man I learned axton so much that I would literally just reset him every week and make a new build
Axton is good
Nice name lmao
Axton has always been my favorite character. Apperantly i have been using the hardest character when for me its easy.
he's not the hardest
i gotta say the small time you get with phalanx shield is actually really welcome on op8 difficulty, having that brief moment of respite has been the deciding factor of life and death sometimes
Axton with a passive slag moxxi and a fast ball is my favorite combo to run
I don't know why but literally every kill is hilariously satisfying
"WANNA MEET MY GIRLFRIEND?"
lmao
So true
The soldier/comando/enforcer class is realy easy to pick up for a first playthrought
Alexander near the end of the second playthrough is when people need to start learning how to get the most out of their skills
I’ve always been an Axton main and not a very good one, I’m getting back into BL2 so this video is very helpful
I absolutely love Axton and his kill skills, Onslaught is legit one of the most fun skills in the game for me, i love being the Flash lol
You Puma, have now become my "go to" for Borderlands 2 (and hopefully 3) from here on out. I don't know my head from my ass in this game, but you have certainly helped me a freaking ton!!
As someone who was a dedicated soldier player with a friend that was dedicated to a siren, it was super awkward being the two weakest characters ingame and falling in the awkward "need good gear>can't get good gear without good gear" endgame.
Axton imo doesnt need an op skill
community patch fixed him up just right
უწმინდური მამაო ღორმენ i dont play on pc and i think the unofficial patch buffed him to much
I play on UCP, and I love what they did with Axton. With that being said, vanilla Axton is already strong.
define too much? they literally fixed some of the downright underwhelming things like turret dmg reduction, nuke not dealing damage and buffed ranger and duty calls which are mostly never used anyway. literally nothing you can say is broken good compared to vanilla.
უწმინდური მამაო ღორმენ those were really the only major things that the UCP needed to fix. Axton was fine in just about every other area.
I'd argue that him now being able to boost all weapon type magazine capacity in the UCP was just an unnecessary change. That was one of the biggest things that made Roland so OP in BL1, and they fixed that balance issue with Axton in BL2. Now they go back to BL1 balance problems with Axton? Why?
Axton is my favorite to play so far
it gets hard when u fight the warrior as Axton (LAST BOSSFIGHT)
best class to use is Salvador if u want to kill enemies easily
but when i used Zero i got Op stuff
so if u want Op stuff play as Zero
but Op stuff has big damage so Zero is the most strongest of all
and if u get the right skills then boom
EDIT: Maya sucks but it depends of which class suits ur playstyle
Get your head in the game, is Axton the worst? Weak? Best? Good?. All I can say is Axton does not suck same with all the other vault hunters.
Axton is the worst when compared to the others and the broken shit they have
Axton is good when you look at some of the stuff he has, just not fucking broken.
Just because Axton is balanced doesn't mean he's weak, even if compared to other vaulthunters. He's a better grenade character than Krieg who just so happens to have a broken skill that just so happens to be great for a grenade build. Axton is also, you know, the fastest raid killer in Borderlands 2. Axton deals great damage without needing to rely on broken skills, how does that make him the weakest?
9
@@captainangel1078 if I compare him to some other VH, I never found axton weaker, compared to gaige (which is also kinda soldier-ish class), he has advantages as in being ready to put off full dmg output at any time, whereas Krieg need stacks and killskills, gaige needs some amount of stacks, and Maya needs to have phase lock active. Axton is straight forward and hard hitting, just like a fastball :)
The lack of an OP skill is not a valid complaint, people need to get good and stop relying on crutches like Cloud Kill, B0rE, etc.
If you can't get enough kill skills to proc, get good. Being able to keep your kill skills up by killing enemies fast enough means that you are good at the game.
Yeah sadly i suck tho
Judah Nunyabeezwax Patience, young one. In due time, you will no longer suck at Borderlands 2.
Seriously though, you'll never get good if you don't frequently play him.
And don't use crutch skills or equipment like the Bee, Sham, Cloud Kill, and a lot more. You'll never get good if you continue to use OP equipment.
Andrew Fackenthall I can't take you or your ridiculous comment seriously. You call me a kid when you are still using text language, bad grammar and lol faces? If anyone's immature here, its you.
Skill does matter in video games, especially in shooters like Borderlands and RPGs like Borderlands.
In my opinion Borderlands 2 is mediocre, I just think it pales in comparison to BL1 and TPS. If you disagree that's fine as long as you don't try to tell me that my opinion is wrong.
Boyishdude your opinion is wrong
Boyishdude borderlands 2 is is considered to be the best in the series by about 97% of the community
There are only two issues I see with Axton. 1. They need to adjust the scaling of damage and survivability of the turret on uvhm. Demonite has a video where he identifies flaws in this side of Axton that the devs should have patched by now.
2. Axton needs powerful ammo regeneration like Roland had in bl1 and that would make him just right imho. Whether that’s through a skill or class mod matters not.
I've mained Axton since day one. Mostly cause I mained Roland in one, and later mained Wilhelm in 1.5. One thing you didn't mention was that he also has a few on hit procts that keep him in the fight between kills, and playing solo it's the main way, along with grit, that you can even take on bosses. I also find Dahl rifles to work perfectly with him, even using Dahl Snipers as DMRs. You need a lot of accurate high damage shots, to hit regularly, something Vladoff and Hyperion can't do as well. (Unless you're talking high end gear then why use anything but the best?)
I hope in 3 that the solider of that game is a mix between the teamplay of Roland, the solo ability of Wilhelm, and the versatility of Axton. A tree line for each maybe.
Axton just feels balanced
“Wanna meet my girlfriend?”
Took long enough to do a follow up video on the does Axton suck video...
This paired with the other video can be a good pairing on Axton's benefits and flaws
Though I'm a fan of demonite for Axton videos
I like your countdown, rant, and theory videos... cheers
Great vid VPG and I think Axton is a great character to play, you pretty much covered everything
I never really understood Puma's obsession over having an "Overpowered Offensive Skill" Like seriously he says that in EVERY VIDEO but Axton doesn't need anything like that. The combination of his skills and his synergy IS his version of an "OP Skill". Numbers don't lie either, he has some insane kill potential for raids and IMO is a very good mobbing character too.
-Axton Gang Rise Up
The reason I like axton playing on my own is because his tyrant acts as a second character. So, when you need retreat or out of ammo, you can always rely on your tyrant to get the job done.
The tyrant can even be useful when your about to die.
Getting OP8 solo with Axton, was my most stressful gaming experience.
What is OP8?
When BL2 came out I worked at Fed Ex office and because of that I have a huge poster of Axton and his turret I that I found online. Seriously with it's size and the paper I used this sucker is worth well over a hundred bucks, hehe
There are still so many misconceptions about Axton, even after so long like "He doesn't do anything better than anyone else" or "He gets outperformed by all the other characters" which just isn't true.
Brandon Creek. Exactly Axton is so underrated he's one of the best characters in the game
This is coming from a Zer0 that switched weapons and stuff
I looked at all the heroes Idk yet I might go and stay with Maya. What do you think?
Should I play Axton I’m avoiding Gunzerker because I want a challenge 😂
Also in your opinion this is kinda off-Topic
Your favorite class in Pre Sequel?
Yoshi Yoshi claptrap
Athena, I was upset I couldnt play her in bl2
Nisha, all about the gunslinger playstyle
Maya is good, but she's not the best class for raiding. I have the most fun with her, the main reason is she's super easy for killing flying enemies.
He's probably the best at "Tag in and out" combat style
My first thought on something they can change which they did in borderlands three already is give Axton a way for him to be GEN ammo but that’s what Salvadora can do which is good. When I first started playing years ago and he didn’t have that kind of ability I stop playing for so long and then some years later I started playing it again.
Did anyone else think his name was violent Puma
Whos getting Borderlands 3?
Me
ur mom
it's not even announced yet. quit trying so hard for fake internet points. check back tomorrow for whatever announcement Gearbox had planned.
Action is one of the 3 characters I used a lot with the Gunzerker my favorite because of how well he tanks bosses
Axton has been my favorite character.
I just got to UVHM with axton, and seem to be having an easier time at that point in the game than with most other characters.
EXPLOOOOSIONSSS?????
People like to be offensive attackers. "The best defense is a good offense" comes to mind. Seeing as Axton is a mainly defensive character, players might want to steer away from him because hitting harder and faster is also funner.
i kinda feel like axton was supposed to be more support focused then he is.
like with the Phalanx shield and double up, one let's you revive someone easier or give them a better chance of staying alive
and on the other hand, his turret can get a 2nd gun with both guns dealing slag. making enemies weaker to all damage.
then there is nothing else.
I don't claim to be particularly good at this game, but Axton had been my main class for a while. Then I eventually got worn down by the continual barrage about how much he supposedly sucks, so I recently re-rolled Maya.
Derch might have the skill to play Maya well, but I don't, and there have frequently been times when I have not enjoyed the experience. Phaselock does not provide a physical obstacle to monsters the way the turret does, and I need that.
I am currently at the beginning of UVHM. I primarily play with an almost exclusively Survival spec, as a Grit tank with tenacity relics and pointman coms. I do this because against normal monsters it has resulted in me dying less, although with bosses I go back and respec to Gunpowder temporarily, because I'm aware that I need the 80% bonus to my gun damage which that tree provides.

The above is my planned specialisation for level 72. Both Survival and Gunpowder are completely viable in different parts of the game, but you have to know which is which, and before you get the points, you have to be willing to switch between them. With Gunpowder, I will die more often, but the tradeoff is that I get to be much more flexible with the choice of my weapons, because that tree gives a total of 80% to gun damage. With Survival, on the other hand, I can't. I get the slag Pimpernel and the Lyuda and a Jakobs Muckamuck, and I use my turrets to draw enemy fire, and I always slag before non-slag, and I go through very slowly and methodically and carefully.
Axton requires genuine skill to play, because the class is about *combining* a number of different elements properly, which in turn means you need to know about the mechanics of the base game, which apply to any class. Some classes probably don't need to worry about slag much, even at higher levels. Axton does.
This game has multiple different interpretations of the usual empowerment fantasy. Salvador I would liken to the Incredible Hulk; he is simply so powerful on an inherent level that he can pretty much go through anything. Axton on the other hand is a lot more like Batman or John McClaine, in the sense that his damage output is a lot lower, and he is a lot more human and vulnerable; but if you get the right gear and know what you're doing, you can still narrowly win. The latter is the style I enjoy.
I know they are less viable, but I actually really really like kill skills
I only wish they had a +1, or +2 second duration but that's just preference
How are kill skills less viable? Axton has amazing kill skills, and kill skills in general are great.
Heh, depending on the map and mob density, once you get that first kill, you will have noooo problem killing the next enemy in 7(?) seconds. Or, get a legendary reaper Krieg to play with you. Those two can put in WORK!
If you know what your doing axton is the best one to farm Hyperius as he is capable of killing him in under 5 second's
bore is arguably easier and requires no gear
@@SlowerIsFaster139 A good 0 fuse singularity is needed.
Axton was my first character, and first op8 and will always be one of my favorites
axtons turret has saved me in fight for life more times than i can remember.
Axton was the only character I ever played on Borderlands 2.
My name is Axton and I am telling the truth
Right on brother!
Tediore reloads, Drunk hives, Sandhawking (Boring.), Grenade builds, Turret-centric build, Tanky support gunner, Crit-glitching, etc.
Theres tons of fun ways to play him, and I'm personally doing a Hybrid of Drunk Hive/Tanky Support gunner build right now, and its fun as all hell. Being unkillable and able to dish out insane amounts of damage, its a hell of a lot more fun than something like maya where you press a button to lockdown the enemy and kill it in seconds.
I remember Axton was the first Vault Hunter I ever used
