Hey guys, back with another Borderlands 2 Countdown and today I figured I would go over some of what I think are Axton The Commando's Best Guns, Weapons and Gear. Now this video isn't going to include all the obvious contenders like the DPUH, Norfleet, Pimpernel, etc and includes guns that I think are Good on Axton in Particular.

Not a bad list, I would've included the Leg. Ranger instead of the Leg. Engineer though. Well I would've included much more items and probably without specific or different ranking, because there's no single best gun/item, but I guess you wanted to just list 10 items. What's worth pointing out about the Volcano is that it doesn't just deal more damage with the Bee because of it's splash, but also that the amp-splash damage is boosted by grenade damage, meaning Axton can actually boost the Amp damage on it. Also the Snider does have splash damage as well, but less than the Volcano and it's also a different type which Axton can't boost with grenade damage.

I love grenades in the borderlands games
A great weapon on Axton would also be the Sawbar, Granted it works great with other chars too, Axton increases its base fire-rate with his legendary soldier class mod, and since he doesn't increase velocity like Maya or Zer0 he can put it to DAMN good use. In situations it applies like thresher swarms and bullymong raids and even mid range bandit combat it becomes a FLAMETHROWER.
One thing I catches me offguard when using the Swordsplosion is how small the actual blast that does the big damage is, because you usually want to stay away from enemies when using it (the child swords HURT A LOT), but its not as much of a carpet bombing weapon as it seems, you actually want to get direct hits to get BIG damage.

I got the Legendary Soldier class mod from the Treasure Room in Captain Scarlett's DLC.

The legendary Ranger mod is great if someone else is using Krieg with their class mod that boosts kill skill time 99%. That means you can keep your kill skills up for 14 seconds.
Annotation: While you can get the Hornet in the base game, you will only want to use it in UVHM becuase of the level scaling. In the base game you will get in at lv. 1, lv. 35 and lv. 50, but the last one only after you´ve beaten the Warrior which means that in normal and true vault hunter mode you will get it at a point where armored enemies are quite rare and when you finally find some loaders after bloodshot stronghold it will be way too low level to be usefull. For normal mode and tvhm I would recommand using tiny tinas Teapot which makes an excellent weapon against Wilhelm and most loaders in the highlands....
You can farm him at any level. Once it's outscaled by enemies just get a new one. 30 sec farm
When people say ALL E-tech weapons are not UVHM viable.

Ogre is a glaring omission here. Also the Sawbar. Obviously the Sawbar is only useful against flesh enemies, and it had a learning curve (not as bad as the Flakker though) but I believe it gets RL splash damage, so Axton can boost this. I think the Sawbar actually is a little underrated possibly.
Just new to Borderlands 2 thanks to PS4 subscription... love all your videos and the detailed coverage of this game. DD107 I generally don't use it because I play a sniper Zer0 build, so I just make the most use of snipers

I feel like the Avenger is a better substitute for the baby maker as it allows you to recoup ammo lost via the Tediore reloads.

1:21 Technically, the Volcano "is" a Snider (in the same sense that the Lyuda "is" a Droog).
1:24 And yet the Jakobs Cannon, the Dahl Grendier, Splatguns (which are basically grenade launchers), and all rocket launchers except the Bunny don't benefit from it, illustrating the inconsistency of "Borderlands logic."

The lead storm and shredifier are pretty good as well, they synergize well with metal storm and his other fire rate boost’s
The shock norfleet it goes good when axtons onslaut skill is active
I think the Veruc assault rifle should have been on the list somewhere, but good list none the less

I like Axton with dahl build : legendary soldier and expertise for aim Quickly , Hornet , duty calls skill with feral veruc and bearcat non-elemental (first for great damage,and second for more splash damage )and flying emperor non-elemental , and dahl relic (mag. Size and burst count ) and Axton = dead
Not sure if it is boosted by grenade damage but the thunderball fists is a good choice if you can get the binary prefix
I prefer using the Leg. Ranger and the Auto Gunner (+6 to Steady, +5 to Metal Storm) COMs for turret / gun Axton, fully specked into Guerilla and Survivor, and with 4/5 points in Steady (10/5 with Auto Gunner COM), which allows me to use weapons like the Hail, Hellfire, and Hornet pretty skilfully.
woah woah woah, why wasn't the Torgue Ogre included in this list? it's like one of the best (if not "the best") assault rifles in the game

@@grandduelslover3055 actually numbnuts, I play on PC and I just don't like the fact that you technically have to shoot the ground in order to score critical hits by learning the arc patterns. still though, give me a Torgue Ogre or Vladof Shredifier anyday!!!!
I recommend the Bee shield, use it on all difficulty levels on Axton myself.
Flakker because of launcher swap gets my top 1 on Axton. If you have the Legendary Soldier mod on you get 140% weapon swap speed and you don't even need the swap accessory on the launchers.
The Casual Swordsplosion plus longbow zero fuse bonus package, absolutely wrecks everything if spec’d into grenade/explosive build.
I need this in my life. He's the only character I actually use because I'm stupid
Pointman class mod I like it just because it heals much faster then some enemy's can do damage
If you're ever feeling bored in Bl2, try a metal storm axton build with a shredifier.
Rabid shredifier, vladof grip, vladof stock, so it has a fire rate of 15 and no element to gain the fire rate bonus from the skill that boosts non elemental gun fire rate.
Axton still is my favorite character. I always was a tactical fellow, and I couldn’t get into Salvador or zero.
This list is perfect for me, since I chose Axton
We need a top X best/worst changes in the recent community patch.
I like the KerBlaster Legendary Assault Rifle from Midge-Mong for Axton since it uses his Assault rifle buffs and he can also boost both the initial explosive as well as the "child" grenade's damage. "Amp" shields also boost both the initial shot as well as the grenade, And with an "Absorb" shield the initial shot will add ROCKET ammo so it's a good backup for anyone using a rocket launcher a lot.
It's one of my fav ARs for him as well. He negates it's ammo and fire rate problems and the child grenade deals a ton of damage with his grenade damage.
First time I got it was during a bit of a challenge playthrough. No weapon except what you got before you got to Sanctuary (not counting mission weapons of course) Soooo yeah . Good bloody thing I got it. Made that challenge SO much easier. But the thought of taking out the Warrior and Jack with basically a lvl 5 rifle and a lvl 11 Tediore rocket launcher....
Was messing around with gib and tried a non-elemental hornet out on axton it’s so fun

Great list. Only problem is including class mods. Of course they are best on axton as only he can use them. Otherwise awesome list
I like using the incendiary Scorpio. It’s really good with his increased fire rate and lower recoil.
I don't like incindary. The Scorpio is a good ar, but I prefer corrosive.
Fungeons And Kraggons yeah incendiary isn’t my #1, I like slag, cryo and shock. But it’s satisfying to use incendiary scoroio against Bullymong and Nomads.
Please do these for the TPS characters too! I feel like the builds on that game are much more diverse than in 2.

FYI if you want to get your COMs legitimately (especially the Legendary Soldier COM), the most reliable place to do so is from the Marcus loot boxes after beating Tinder Snowflake. You do not have to farm Tubbies for that (farming Tubbies sucks IMO).
I've heard a lot of times that stuff about the pearlescent weapons can only be obtained over Lvl 61, But I just got a tunguska on Marcus mercenary Shop at level 58

Loved this video but I would have included the Creamer. It is a moxxi rocket launcher that splits into 2 and because it is a moxxi weapon it heals(I forgot the amount).

Y'know, I was wondering if you'd do a video with this general theme/format for any of the chars in Borderlands The Pre-Sequel. I'm partial to Nisha, myself, but I'd love to hear about gear that complements Jack the Doppelganger, Wilhelm, or even Claptrap.
We pretty much know that anything elemental-focused will shine with Athena's skills and builds by now.
I guess Nisha's best options are typically going to be pistols or Jakobs weapons in general, but I don't know as I haven't experienced much of TPS yet.
I personally would have added the magic Missile with the times for prefix seeing as how it is good with any build yes it is good for any character but Axton in and particular can carry much more of this more grenades than any other class seeing as how he has an ability in the green Skill Tree near to the bottom that lets him add another 5 grenade ammo in his use if you have the time for that is another 20 grenades that have the potential to hit and damage Anatomy if we really wanted to go back to school I could say you could add in each damage for each projectile together and * 5 to get the total amount of damage you would have just from that alone not to mention the three start out with plus the extra you can get from Crazy Earl and sanctuary
And I forgot to mention but the big boom Blaster which is a great shield for Axton and gives him another grenade ammo

i use the KerBoom for Axton because ne can deal more damage with it by having the Grenadier skill it also ist in my opinion a very good weapon if you have the right skills

Can you do a leveling guide? Some experienced players can get to 50 in a day long sitting but I only made it to about half that in 3x the time they took. I can't use Gibbed (I play on console) and most of the methods I've seen have been patched or require other people (nobody likes me).

If you're going for pull the pin, try farming for MIRV 'nade mods.
The Hellfire is also really good for hellborn Krieg.
Melee Krieg wise there really isn't much farming needed in my experience... Just never use a bladed weapon
Go get a slag ruby and do for beginning a melee build.

That was awesome! My buddy and I just started over as the 360 version is available on Xbox 1 for free now, i am doing Krieg, and he is doing Axton. So this was really great! Now I know what to beg for from the real players lol! Can you make some up to date vids for the other characters as well? I will check your vids for one on Krieg.

Not even an honorable mention of the Blockhead shotty? I love that gun on Axton. It tears any flesh enemies to shreds in one or two shots. From my understanding the splash damage it has gets boosted by grenade damage, so yea. Good times :)

Think the legendary pointman mid should be considered cause it is very useful when going solo
Any thoughts on the Legendary Pointman mod? I hear a lot of hype about it buffing Grit by 5 points, but I just don't see why that is so good compared to shit like Engineer, Grenadier or Soldier.

Just want to point this out (regardless if you know or not), SOME of the legendary items you listed are also obtained from loot midgets, so I prefer farming them instead.
M24 Chaffee But midgets are much more random so they're hard to farm for specific gear

Why so much dislike of the WTF shield? I've used it for great damage. Just be prepared to jump backwards and don't use it in closed spaces.
