What's going on guys? This is VinylicPuma, back with another Borderlands 2 countdown video and today, I figured I would go over 10 of what I think are among some of the Best Assault Rifles in Borderlands 2! Now while this video will mostly center around Axton, it is worth mentioning that this video can work for a bunch of the other characters as well as many of these assault rifles are good on them too. Though when it comes to Axton, a few of these may be better on him due to their Explosive Elemental Nature.

Nice to see some new borderlands stuff. Switched from PS3 to xbox1 and had to start over. Only just got Krieg to true vault Hunter mode earlier. Still a long way to go.
It's a tough ride with Krieg , but personally he's the best character to me
Always liked him best but never did a ton with him. Melee Krieg is a tank.
Yeah and if you use a hybrid krieg of hellborn and bloodlust trust me you're unstoppable

Kerblaster gets extra points from me for being probably the best rifle in the game to pair with the grog nozzle. It benefits greatly both from the drunk effect and from being a super easy way to get all your health back considering the kerblaster’s continuous damage.
As always, I enjoy your content. Your weapon and character videos for Borderlands show a true level of knowledge and experience of the game. Axton is the character I have maxed out. Overall I love your videos Puma. :)

I got the Lyuda!!!! it's fucking amazing , every feature is great ! paired with bee shield, it's monster... too bad I'm on Normal end, and I don't know how long it will last me
Funny thing is that gettle and Mobley scale with the player in normal so you can get level 30 lyudas from him

I'd personally put the Hammer Buster over the Gatling Gun. Why?
1: It's much more ammo efficient. The Gatling uses 3 ammo per shot and with the rate of fire basically being how fast you can shoot it you'll eat through your magazine and your assault rifle ammo reserves in no time. The Hammer Buster also rewards critical hits and is almost pin point accurate, meaning that you will consume even less ammo per kill (whereas the Gatling has a considerable spread, often resulting in the player missing at least one projectile). Even though the Hammer Buster has a rather low magazine size compared to other Jakobs ARs you will still fire off more shots per magazine, meaning that you will have to reload less which in return results in higher dps (also, the Hammer Buster reloads faster).
2: Whilst the Hammer Buster cannot be obtained early on in a playthrough it does have an assigned loot source, making it much easier to farm on if you want it (also, it's one of the fastest farms in the game).
3: It's basically a poor man's Bekah and whilst it isn't quite as good as the Bekah you don't need any DLC for it, it is easy to get and you can in fact obtain it in any playthrough, whereas the Bekah doesn't drop until lv. 61 in Ultimate Vault Hunter mode and you can only get it from Tubbie enemies and you basically need to be playing on OP 8 if you want an even remotely good chance at getting one. On OP 0/lv 72 it is less likely to drop than a Cobra.
All you're reasons are not good. 2 and 3 both are ease of aquizetion which doesn't effect the power. And about the spread, it is only bad if you have k6 aim, and the mag, the enemy is gonna be dead by the time you reload, and axton can massively boost it with his skills coms and the flush prefix. Not to mention the hammer busters awful recoil
“Poor man’s bekah” so you mean they’re both jakobs assault rifles. Other than that, they have nothing in common. Hammer buster is decent but it’s nowhere close to the bekah

Mine was zero, then axton, then maya, then salvador, still working on paige and Craig (however his name is spelt XD)
My first character I played was zero and he was lv 33 and my axton was lv 50

Why do you reload after like every 10 shots with the bekah if its got a 50 round mag
Probably more out of habit. It should also be noted that the Bekah doesn't usually have that deep of a mag, he's using a com as well as some skills to boost AR mag size.
@@darthplagueis13 yeah just noticed that, still seems like after doing that a couple times hed realize it lol
I tend to reload each time I kill an enemy regardless of mag size in all kinds of games. It's probably just a (bad) habit.
@@franzschubert4480 You may wanna play Zer0 then. With Killer you get really good reload right after every kill and 0ne sh0t, 0ne kill just gives you bonus damage every time after you reload.
Its a habit for most gamers in the world. I have it too 😅

I like the KerBlaster up against Nomads with face blocking shields because that's a "surface" and the Grenade blows up under their feet
I like the Seraphim on Hellborn Krieg more than Axton
I like the Sawbar up against Terramorphous when I'm using Axton
Ahh, the Veruc is a great rifle and has unlisted projectiles
The Ogre has exceptional damage and is my favorite Torgue rifle and I'm apeshit crazy to get my hands on
Gattling Guns are decent Jakobs rifles with the fact that there is no wind up time
The Kitten is a decent Vladof rifle and is easier to use than the Hail, I dunno if that's my opinion or I just dont really like the Hail projectile pattern (ps3, Xbox 360)
Hail rifles are ok, but isn't really my go to rifle
Lead Storm is a better Hail and I'll swap my Grog Nozzle for health then use the Lead Storm and has is just as hard to use as the Hail, is rather a Lead Storm than a Hail
Bekah is no surprise and is my favorite Jakobs rifle for the Jakobs Commando Build instead of a Grenade Commando.
The Hail is phenomenal but it does require some getting used to. It is also known to be much harder to use on consoles due to a smaller FOV. If you want to get some value out of it, try using it up close. Much easier to hit things that way.
What is the grenade called that puma uses and how do you get it?
Magic missile (purple rarity) drops from ultimate badass sorcerers (in the same place the ogre drops)

The godfinger if youre more than 5 miles away from your target, if not (just kidding) then the lyuda, it only consumes 1 bullet but shoots 3 so iont know if youre counting that

The two best standard-issue assault rifles (for any character) are the Dahl Double Tap (Vladof barrel) and the Torgue Lance (Jakobs barrel). There's a Pearl (Edit: Gemstone, not Pearl) version of the Double Tap called the Emerald Rifle.
11:41 That's why you keep different tools in yer toolbox. Use Torgue "blast" rifles or Jakobs "battle" rifles against enemies with physical armor.
1: the emerald rifle isn't a pearl, its a gemstone.2: the torgue lance is worse than the torgue spitter.
@@grandduelslover3055 1: Correct. I had a feeling I was getting something wrong. 2: Depends on gameplay style. I prefer the accuracy and efficiency of the Lance. I don't mind its slow fire rate because gyrojets are unconventional ammo anyway, so I don't hold them to conventional standards.

Dahl Plasma Casters are OP on Axton. One with slag can be a poor man's Slagga imo
1: for slag, the grog,maliwan plasma casters, are better.2: the pimp is better for slagging than the slagga.3: why not use the hyperion,maliwan,and tediore plasma casters?

i love axton, but hate the assault rifles in borderlands 2, basically all of them have horrible effects and are outclassed by pistols or smg. all i want is a assault rifle that can used as such, is that too much to ask? they were so much better and easier to use in borderlands 1, not as fancy as in borderlands 2, yes, but better.
