Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. I'll never get tired of Tom Hanks and his movies. He always has a good sense of humor and his serious roles are great to watch. That Thing You Do was one of my favorite movies. People just don't know about it!

Here's something I just realized. Tom Hanks had a volleyball in the movie Castaway named Wilson and Tim Allen had a character named Wilson, who was the neighbor, in his sitcom Home Improvement. I loved this skit. It made me smile. 😊

Great skit. Colbert was terrific on this. Costume and makeup were excellent...I miss the big FAO Schwartz toy store in NYC where Hanks danced on a giant keyboard. It was a holiday tradition to explore the store, see cool stuff, and be entertained by the astronomical prices. They kept the keyboard from Big out on the ground floor. The store closed supposedly because of gross mismanagement by the deceased owner's family. Sigh.

I still visit this sketch once in a while, used to (still do) love BIG...something over the years has kept "Zoltar" in the back of my mind. Beyond a piece of entertainment hardware...there's something more mystical to those machines...there's a feeling...and I think they not only look damn cool but definitely would have one in a game room of my house if life ever allotted the opportunity.

If you haven't seen _Cloud Atlas_ you're missing some of Tom Hank's greatest performances. He portrays 3 or 4 different characters during the course of the movie, and his acting chops were never sharper. Also a great movie, very long, but highly entertaining,
