Has a pump ever caused you any bother? Let us know in the comments!
Mine bit the dust today, bottom removed itself from rest of pump...
Had little travel pump which disintegrated on me when I' rplaced an inner tube. Needed 3 hands style holding to keep it together enough to inflate the tube.
I think the pump is interesting and has some potentially useful, but I rarely use a floor pump to go from 0 so the 0-30 would rarely be used. The accuarte air is good and the removal of valve improves this at the cost of time taken, so personal choice I will stick to going a couple of pis over and releasing fast.
I am not dissing the pump, and have no doubt it's an amazing product. For me though it would add complexity and time to the top ups I do before each ride.
£123 would cause me a whole lot of bother!
What sort of percentage are you guys on to be so enthusiastic about something so vastly overpriced?
Walks away muttering to himself . . .
With all due respect, Why don't you perform a demo of the pump in action?
Alex, that’s the most excited anyone has ever become over a floor pump. 🙂 But yeah, very clever piece of kit, nice job Topeak.
I've used a JoeBlow sport for over 10 years, never needed anything replaced apart from the rubber bungs inside the head. Great value for money!
You'll have to pry my compressor out of my cold, dead hands.
I'm a fan of Topeak pumps. And today is the day I'm going tubeless. Great video GCN 👏
Nice upgrade. I have the older model and they have improved everything that was not ideal. (hose too short). The valve core remover is nice. Saves pumping up the tire twice.
I’ve always wanted one of those! I love the colors
I use a 230v air compressor at home for installing the tyres half the cost and use it for lots of other work as well and different tools,
I love my joeblow, hands down the best track pump I've ever used. Interested to see how this compares now it can do tubeless easier.
Got a Joe Blow in 2012 and it is still going strong.
Hi GCN, Could you please make a video about each presenters bikes and the reasons why they got that model as I'm interested to know!! thx
And i just purchased there Joeblow booster and love it, makes the job so much simpler! - I wonder if the tubihead will be compatible with it tho, would make things EVEN easier!!!
So we checked accuracy, but can we check CONSISTENCY? If you inflate to a defined number, take the head off valve, put it back on, does the gauge read the same (within reason)? Nice to know for cross races, that 25psi is actually 25psi each time I use the pump. Saves time.
That's pretty cool and for $129 it's not that bad. It looks really nice and love the see threw head.
I hope their gauge is better than the old yellow one, I've tested a few and they were all 10-15 psi off from every other brand I've tested
It's a nice pump and all, but there's one question that I still need answered: Is Alex all about the easy life? 😛
Wish you showed it in action because I'm seriously doubting this actually works. I was lucky enough to be able to buy one and the Tubi head leaked from pressure relief button and where you insert the valve. Got a replacement Tubi head from my retailer and that one still leaks air from where you insert the valve. I don't see anyway this can seal around the valve and hold pressure as you pump.
Alex is “all about the easy life”! That fits. Making video full of words, but not actually showing it in action. One example of use of new function in real life would be worth thousands of empty marketing words. ….but hey, who knows, maybe there is an upcoming series of videos…about a pump.
Which is the most accurate home pump out there? Is this it? Struggling to find one. To me that’s the most important feature of any pump.
Will it seat the beads after putting on new tire or is a compressor still needed for that?
Yeah, so I ordered this very model on the 17th of May, 2021. Still not available in any stock in the UK.
Looks to me that the logical next step would be that the stage 1 / stage 2 lever will be automatically mechanically moved when pressure gets high enough / low enough.
💡Here is a genius Idea! Les talk, more action. Give you viewers a real time demonstration.
I have a tube bike, but I am interested in the tubi head design. Is it easier to use than the traditional up down lever (which I find annoying)?
Really need to prove/demonstrate that it will seat a MTB Tubeless tyre
I guess my late 1980's Zefal double shot nearly all plastic pump isn't made to last...oh I shouldn't have said that out loud lol
Show us a video of the pump in use and one might actually be interested in it
#AskGCNTech - I need to install noise canceling foam - as internal routing making a lot of noise.
Can i unscrew hose, fit in foam, and screw back in to calliper - without replacing olive ?
Any difference between Shimano vs Lifeline or any other ?
HI GCN I am working on theory from now and a few months in to the new year if I figure it out I guess I can let you know !
What the hell.. Now if i win a pump then I will have to buy a bike.. I am just addicted to GCN videos.. makes me feel healthy..
What a nice pump
My life made easy with that pump, yes please
Entered the giveaway. I have more interest in the smartgauge and the torq stick even more because torq wrench here in argentina are expensive.
I find it fairly incredible that a manual track pump costs the same as a branded electric compressor. One is essentially a large tube with a manual piston. The other is a combination of motors, pumps, transformers , power buttons, etc. For example, my Hyundai compressor cost me £108. My joeblow booster pump cost £129. What's that all about 😁
How long is long mate?
My track pump doesn’t like my new bike tires. My mini pump does, though. They are both the same brand, though. Yes they are both presta. Any ideas why? #askgcntech
A doddle eh. Tubeless are the future? Well looking at that lot the way things are going you'll have to be in the bicycle equivalent of the AA in case you have a puncture while you're out.
My only issue, my track tubulars on race day I use 215psi 🤔
Training days, 180 - 200psi
Yeah, my track tubs go to 220 psi, still using my silca pump from 1983.
@@lightningll2991 but at the end of the day, it's still a pretty slick looking pump! I'm still using my Topeak floor pump for my roady and it's over 25 years old!
I do need a new one though for my 29er I'm building up and will be using tubeless setup! Another custom paint job and a sub 11kg full suspension machine. Look out vault....here I come lol
215 psi!!!!!!!
ah, the pump now also receive cosmetic touch.
Does carrying 3.5kl backpack during trainings can help me become stronger?
#askGCN
Need a free stock sound check!
Don't you know Pump it up,
You've got to Pump it up.
I can't financially keep up with all the new innovations. I'm trying but I've run out of money and only been cycling for a few years. I wish I would have known how expensive cycling was before I started, I would have picked a different sport.
Yeah it will blow you away with how expensive it is as well
Sorry, messing around with the valve makes it a NO for me. might be OK on the first fill, but every time I top up ? no thanks
Still not as good as an air compressor with a digital pressure gauge, but this looks like the next best thing.
damn boi that pump looks fresh af
ye mayne. when i's b boughtin dis, all dem hoes came checkin my valve pressure nomsayan
What no demo???
So does it only take 30psi to seat a tubeless tyre?
By the time you've got 30psi in and holding it's most likely seated, yes.
You can literally "go to town on this pump". Literally? 🤣👍
prefer my silca
The big problem with this pump.. That none of the you tube videos nor topeak instructions mention... Is that you need a reasonably long exposed valve stem in order for it to work. So if you only have 10 to 15mm exposed at is with most bikes, the pump will not work at all. You need 20 to 30mm exposed, a chimney basically, in order for the tubi nozzle to work. Plus rubber nozzle with lack of a clamp, adds to the impracticality of this item
cmon bro, ;) dady need a new pump
How does this pump match up against the joe blow boost?
I have a Joeblow Boost and bought the tubihead to use with it. Works great!
@@BrianMcDonald are you able to use it as a regular pump as well? Like let's say you just want to add another 10 psi to top off a tire
@@marquezo Yes you can do that very easily...I actually tested the Tubihead and with the booster I didn't even need to remove the valve core to get it seated.
@@BrianMcDonald thank you for the feedback
HI Brian am trying to work on a theory I bought the joblow booster as well as the special tubi pump hose should I just replace the standard booster hose with the tubi head?
It won't even be available until October so I'm not sure why you are showing it now?
Because it is already available in some places.
@@olegjanas please provide a link to anyone who actually has it in stock? It is being advertised but when I spoke with an actual Topeak representative they indicated it would not be available until October at the earliest.
@@Riprazor when I started to look for it, it was available in Holland and German shops. Nothing in the UK though.
@@olegjanas Actually you are correct! While the hose and TUBIHEAD assembly are not available, it appears the actual entire pump is. I just found it showing in stock in the US at Universal Cycles.
Tankx Alex, I got a 50% off coupon on a 6 gallon air compressor that only cost me fifty bucks, sorry topeak.
GCN 2025: Carbon pumps: Do you need them?
The 60 gallon 240volt compressor in my basement is not as pretty.
nice ad
This pump probably cost more than my bike
Job blow? Huh...
Tubeless is so much of a hassle !
Difficult to get on the rim, messy sealant, difficult to get seated and a mess to clean up.
This pump is quite smart, but riding 23mm and 25mm high pressure (because it does give lower rolling resistance and lower aero resistance), I'm still staying away from tubeless and doesnt have to fork out money for a special pump.
No matter how smart and cool it is.
It look's good !
Just.. why? This just seems like an overly engineered pump. I have a 30£ pump that does not leak any air, pumps air well and quickly and without needing flip a knob for extra 30% speed.
Do you run tubeless?
@@viffer94 no, from your question I assume that may make a difference?
@@MindVortex23 It’s probably overkill for you then. The valve removal bit only enhances seating tubeless tires which can be a right PITA.
Super brutally bad clip ..what it weights .doesn't mater its a track pump. What does it cost ..more like.
Poor quality here no editing..👎
Solving a problem that does not exist... throwing your money out the window would be more exciting than using this BS gadget..
Seems a load of over engineered nonsense. Use a normal pump for my tubeless without any problems.
