  • In this video I unbox the Joe Blow Booster track pump and use it to put on a few tubeless tyres. Watch to see what I think of this quite expensive track pump.

    I had problems with this style of pump because it’s designed to work with the core in place. I had tyre / rim combinations that can not be seated with the core in place. That’s why I switched back to a schwalbe bottle that is designed to work without the core so you can get more air in at once.

    • @TurnCycling
      @TurnCycling  Před 4 lety

      Yes I've had issues in the past with ones that leave the core in place however this one did really impress me. I will keep you posted on how it works with other combinations but this one is usually a bit tricky (GravelKing slick on deep section 20mm internal width rims) and it went straight up no issues. It did also work on the first one without the core so I'm pretty sure it would work with the core out on a regular basis. I'll keep you posted.

    Thanks or this video, I too have had the same troubles in the past with seating TL tyres, my partner had two punctures on a recent ride (it’s hedge cutting season). I’m TL and she isn’t, but her tyres are TL compatible, time to convert her I think!, I was trying to decide, do I get a tank or a JB Booster, you’ve convinced me, even though it’ll make my JB trackpump redundant!. Nice video, thanks......

      Hi there, glad it helped. I continue to be really impressed with the pump. It does make TL so easy to set up.

    What size tyres do you run? Do you recommend tubeless if I am on 25mm tyres rim brake?

    • @TurnCycling
      @TurnCycling  Před 5 měsíci

      I generally run 32mm on the road. 25mm is borderline for tubeless. You would probably run around 70psi which is high but can allow the sealant to work. Much higher than that and the sealant will keep getting blown out of the hole.

      @@MrLozatron Hey Leon, how are you? Definitely go for tubeless. It does get easy once you've practiced it a few times.
      It was videod in the back garden of the place we are staying at the moment.
      Oh and unboxing/review on coffee based stuff coming up soon.
      Let me know how the tubeless transition goes.

      Hi there, I think on this one I was using Panaracer Gravelking slicks. I've currently got a mix of GK slicks, G-One Bites and Mezcal 2.25" on my various wheels at the moment.

    • @MiroMateev
      @MiroMateev Před 3 lety

      Thanks! It seemed to me like these were the panaracers. Cool stuff! :) I’m looking for some nice looking tan side wall tubeless tires for my road bike.

    How many pumps did it take to charge the cylinder to 160 psi?

    • @TurnCycling
      @TurnCycling  Před 3 lety

      Don't know, maybe 20 - 30. I'll check next time I use it.

  • @davidabbs4459
    @davidabbs4459 Před 2 lety

    To seat the tyre you ram in 160 psi? Won't that blow the the tyre?

    • @TurnCycling
      @TurnCycling  Před 2 lety +1

      No, it's 160psi into the inflation chamber but that then corresponds to about 30 - 60psi in the tyre depending on how big the tyre is. All inflation champers like this inflate to a similar psi. Hope that helps.

    • @davidabbs4459
      @davidabbs4459 Před 2 lety

      @@TurnCycling no that's very helpful thanks, I've got the pump and just fitted two mountain bike tyres I think with success, all inflations were done at full charge and worked very well, but did take about 3 inflations to get everything seated properly. Onto the gravel bike next.

      Hey Robert, if you are after a bike to carry with you then do check out my Silca Tattico review. It's still a great pump although I'd also recommend the Lezyne Micro Floor drive - go for the digital High Volume one!
