Today we test out 3 skate blade profiles from Bladetech. The Quad XS, Zuperior XS, and the CAG ONE. It's actually crazy how much of a difference blade profiles make. So make sure you try them out for yourself! If you enjoyed the video make sure to leave a like and subscribe!

I have been skating for man years on single radius blades and 100/50 FB. Today I tried out the Ellipse zero with Z channel and 5/8 hollow. It was the greatest wakeup moment for me as a skater. My current single radius blade is a step blade for the old Tuck Lightspeed 2 holder. Back than it came with a 13Radius. After many resharpening circles the radius is 6 or 7still with 100/50 FB (1/2). I got used to the very rockered blade. Now back to the Ellipse zero profile. I was worried before I stepped on the ice that I will be losing a lot of agility, tight space maneuvering..... actually I gained agility, Speed, stability when skating backwards. With the 5/8 hollow hockey stops are way more easy. The way it glides is amazing. Even though there is more blade on the ice it felt way more agile. Thumps-up from me.
Trew crew test out weird hockey accessories
Yea sir
It is often recommended to adjust your hollow to what profile is chosen. Awesome video and that single leg cone drill was insane.
i had the qaud profile for about 6 months. it always felt strong and powerful but slow and really on the heel. changed to superior and fixed all my issues. put me more on my toes, improved speed, backwards skating was massively improved
Quality breakdown TC.
“Feel like McDavid” lmao

Your last vid was so helpful. My ft5 pro snapped now I know to get the ft6 pro from your incredible remarks. Thank you so much👍

I use the quad zero. I got an immediate positive difference in my skating. Different, but super quick to adapt to. Recommend everyone profiles
Yeah the Quad was good for me, loved it!
trew crew keep up the great videos

What profile did u go with ?? And what hollow did u use ?? Cheers
The guy with the IPH jacket I think he might be helping with my AA team for GNH this year and sometimes I go to his IPH in Hamden he is pretty fun and keep it up man
always a banger
Which profile did you end up going with and at what hollow?
Which would you recommend for a player who hasnt skated in years?
for a complete newbie, I'm getting into ice skating (hockey skates but free skating)
is it recommendable to get profiles or would it not really matter? Reason I say that is because I was at a skating rink where I couldn't bring my own ones and had to borrow the ones on site and they were a really flat profile and I could feel a complete balance difference from my own ones (of course turns were very different due to the lack og curve on heel and toe)
What profile is the best for a d man to help with skating backwards?
awesome video love the way you skate and I think I love your idea because Im a power Skater
where do you buy these?
Hey buddy I love your Channel! What profile do you use these days? Also what lie is your stick?
where can I buy these at
Saw the insta post yesterday 🔥🔥
I’m in my 40s and just learned to skate and play hockey two years ago. Had stock profile those two years and just about a month ago I tried out the zuperior with 5/8 sharpening. Huge positive difference right away. My starts were quick, turns were very stable. My only gripe was I felt the heel was tall and I’d catch an edge here and there. (This could easily just be me not being a very good skater).
This week I wanted to try out quad with 5/8 sharpening. I was still quick on starts and stable on turns. Haven’t done transitions yet but I like it so far. Either one is way better than stock imo.
How did the quads did ?
Quads have been great so far. There didn’t seem too big of a difference from the zuperior. But in my opinion, they both are a good deal better than stock.
next you should reveiw the trigger 7 because i know someone who loves the twig its a great stick
Trew what about an Ellipse profile?
So if I got a pair of these, how do I explain how to sharpen them? Is the profile of the blade separate from sharpening? I'd hate to buy a set, get them sharpened, to find out that changes the profile completely
You don't need to buy a new set of blades the profiling changes the blades contact points then you still have to get them sharpened to whatever you prefer you don't need to profile them everytime u sharpen
But, you should get them profiled again before each season or in the middle too, depending on how many times you sharpen. I recommend a Sparx sharpens them, an inexperienced (there are many) hand sharpener can ruin your profile.
I started using the Zuperior profile and love it more than the quad 4
do you feel fast?
@@Shtoogies agility and speed were improved
@@liamdownie7511 awesome thanks
@@liamdownie7511 what do i use for my skate blade style?
@@Shtoogies it's best to go into a professional skate/sports shop and have them help you out with what you need. It all depends on your skating style and what you need out of the blade. It's all very individual.
TC i have a question, how do i know if the zuperior or the quad profile fits my skate? or do they all fit ? and what is your skate blade style for the quad and the zuperior.
It should fit all unless your reaching the near end of the blade life span (sharpening over time decreasing how much is left over)
@@Hinch11 yes but idk what skate blade style?
They all fit. The profiles are adjusted for the size of the blade in mm. He used an XS or xtra small based on his blade size. The place profiling your blades will match the correct size profile to the blade size.
Q: Is the team that you play for in the FPHL? Love the video.
He plays na3hl
How would you get these sharpened?
just like you would any other skate blade. The sharpener just runs down the bottom and follows whatever profile the blade is. Think of a knife sharpener, it doesn't change the shape of the knife, if just sharpens up the edge. (But image if you took a cutter/grinder and cut the knife into a whole different shape, that is profiling... but you could then run the same thing through a sharpener and again it would just act on the edge)
What did you end up going with??
Where was this video before i put in a order
give the marsblades a review
do skate hollow pleasee
The goat 🐐 🏒
are you gonna use those gloves now?

Bring the vlogs back 😢
If you wanna become a better hockey player. Try going without crossover starts during practices, it is rare that you use them during games
